Thank You very much for playing and sharing your thoughts in the video! :) We really appreciate all of it! This is very valuable to us and we will 200% come back to it, when we develop the game in the future. Thank You <3

Thanks for playing! Yes, the next step for this game will be adding other survivors to find and save, so there will be more mouths to feed, but also more firepower on players side as we plan to add more powerful waves of enemies at later stages. It will be important to gather as large group as possible!

Loved this game!

It's fun to play and has a lot of humor, has great responsivness, it's tough in terms of difficulty, but easy to understand and control. I have nothing to add in terms of fixes -> Great job!

Really fun and interesting game!

I love the visuals and gameplay mechanics! Seemed a bit overwhelming at first with all the options one can use, but I think it works in favor for the game in the end. It's actually nice to see all the options displayed at once, to see how many options player can consider when at death's door for example :D I also love, how you can boost the light range to see more and how it displays on screen, or how you can traverse through grass at risk of encountering danger right in front of you, or walking into a trap! I don't think I have ever seen something quite like this, it's fascinating. It looks to have a lot of potential and is already full of interesting ideas presented in engaging way!

Great job! :)

Really fun game! Reminds me a bit of Desktop Dungeon :D

Only 'issue' I found is that if I press the move key in specific direction a milisecond too long the player character jumps across the screen until he hits enemy or the wall, but it might as well be considered a feature xD Corridors are often long so its hard not to be tempted to press that button a bit longer :) Stats of the weapons after upgrading also seemed to be not changing to me - would be cool to display in what way the stats of the sword or boots upgrade when you spend xp points.

Other than that - it's a really engaging game, simple in controls (which is good), but quite complex with all the options and variations of items and enemies! Great job!

It's a really fun game! The visuals are nice, interesting, the gameplay is simple, but engaging :D

Needs a bit more balance though I feel. I would also love to see some more variation to combat (I didnt find any weapons if there are any), but other than that it's quite simple to understand, but still complex enough and fun to play! Great job! :)

Cool concept! I really like the mechs art and the surroundings, some more natural obstacles than white stretched cubes would be nice, maybe rocks for example or some batches of tress? Other than that I see you know whats still missing, like UI, also some healthbars for enemies and means to heal yourself up (or rather - fix yourself up) apart from killing enemies would be nice, its hard not to die on the second enemy depending on how many cannons you spawned with (or so I assume) :D From my personal opinion as well - I would free the camera more - when firing missiles its a little bit annoying that you cant see clearly forward, but semi - top down view with a bit of forward space ahead of you. Also if you want to add gravity to the bullets - add more power to them and try to draw a line while aiming for player to see where his missile will drop! Could be useful and fun mechanic that adds a little bit to mech theme of it - measuring power you need to fire and so on :) Also adding some offset to enemies aim would be nice, as far as I can see, they are too accurate right now, so they have advantage over the player!

I would love to see it finished one day! Good job so far! :)

Loved the game! Interesting concept, fun music and changing sounds - it's quite addicting! Also, easy to understand, but not too simple with all the features and shop around it, which is a great bonus! I made it to cavern 6 before taking a wrong turn before I noticed :D Seems like a complete gamejam submission if I ever saw one! Great job!

Info! -> For 7DRL Challenge 2023 jammers ->

For rating download one of the builds called 'gamejam edition' for your platform of choice!

There are MACOS and PC versions available that are in exact same state the game was published on 12.03.2023!

Version playable in the browser will be updated, so should not be considered anymore as the original entry for the jam!

Got it :) Thank You for the response!

Hi! :)

I have a question regarding updates to the game ->

I wanted to update the game due to already recieving some useful feedback regarding controls and content while witnessing players play the game and I read on other posts that there is some room to update the games as long as there is gamejam version still available to play and is clearly displayed as such. My version was posted as 'Play In Browser' version though. I was wondering, if I can export PC version, which is exact same as the one currently playing in the browser and include warning in the game description (or banner, to display it more visibly at the top of the page, so everyone would see that message first), that for voting and a jam version one should download the PC one marked as "Gamejam edition" for example? I was expecting voting to be max week long, the same as jam. I just dont want to wait 1,5 month to update the game on my page as some things are still bothering me about it so I'm eager to fix it already :P

My post is regarding the game "The Last of Dingus" if it wont be visible in this topic.

The Last of Dingus by Janku (itch.io)

Here are also few concept arts (made by Stachu) mashed together that present what we considered when thinking about the idea for the game. At first we thought that making full-on The Last of Us parody game was a way to go, but we changed our views and set the whole thing in space to make it more of our own. Also few additional enemies that we considered for the game are visible, but we obviously only had time for one model in the end (in the game it also changes size, textures and stats, so in total, there are 4 enemy types made) -> We will probably consider adding them, when updating the game at a later time.

Hi! :)

We are Jachu & Stachu!

This is not our first gamejam and not even first gamejam we participated in team as brothers, but it is our first roguelike game we have made and we are really proud of the amount of work we were able to put out in such short amount of time!

I'm (Jachu) programmer and Unity developer of this one and my brother (Stachu) worked as 2D and 3D artist for all of the assets. Music if featured was either self-made, or variations of free sounds from freesound.com.

Here is a link to the game - available to play in the browser and already submitted to the jam ->

About the making of the game and our goals during the jam ->

We mainly focused on including mechanics featured in linked roguelike description page, but also our own experience with roguelikes and games that feature roguelike elements. For starters - in the game we have form of single runs which end in death and no saves as well as generated content -> player can pick areas to scavenge and discover which are generated with random amount & locations of resources, enemies, amount of floors and variations of them in each area. That way no run is the same and player has to learn to use his resources wisely to survive one more day! We also included turn based mechanics in form of player picking out one of randomised buffs to choose at the end of each completed level -> you can either pick maxing out your health bar for good, or use some additional resources, if you were particularly light on ammo in recent levels!

We hope to include more features and expand already existing ones, but that is all we have managed to put out and we are out of time so that's it as of now. We had a lot of fun with this game, so we will for sure come back to it and update The Last of Dingus after the jam finishes :)

We also planned for this game to be our test of how to make "fun to play" game, as we often forgot about that important factor in our previous games :P We often made games that were fun in concept, but in result didnt provide experience that even we as creators wanted to come back to. This game is supposed to change this, so I hope it worked out :)

The title and theme of alien mushrooms chasing protagonist called Jole is of course inspired by currently running show and the game that we love - "The Last of Us".

Love this game! <3

Thank You <3

Very fun game! Great work! :D

Really cool game! Great work! :D

Hi, I wanted to show you my new title - Desert Oasis, that I will develop further with more creatures, more interesting mechanics and different levels!

Here is the link to test it out (works in the browser)-> Desert Oasis by Janku (itch.io)

To give rating in different categories on Ludum Dare page! -> Desert Oasis | ldjam.com | Ludum Dare game jam

As of now it functions as a Ludum Dare 50 gamejam entry and is focused around the theme of 'Delay the inevitable' which in this case is -> trying for longest to help little blue Blups survive on the desert by clicking on them to rush them, when they are searching for food and helping them escape fierce predators, who also occassionaly get quite hungry!

Enjoy and let me know what you think! :)

I love this concept, great looking game, simple, fun and very inspiring! Great work! :D

Really fun, love the visuals! Great game <3

Really enjoyed it!

I got to day 15 xD Really fun and very addicting game, I like the system. Great work!

Haha, thanks :D

Really fun game, I have spent almost too much time in it testing out all the different bonuses and getting better at throwing books during exam :D

Really fun game, smooth controls, very nice, cute graphics and funny theme <3

For half a minute I thought it was 2D game and couldnt understand controls xD I really enjoyed the graphics. Simple, fast, but really enjoyable. Fun concept.

Hi!

Here is mine and my brother's  work - we couldnt give it a week, we only worked for 2 days that we had available, but we plan to make it something more in the future and fix all the things that bother players :)

Nice game! :) I like the mechanics and movement, also sounds are good. I got stuck in some places (some bugs), but other than that I enjoyed it :) Keep up the good work!

I didnt get past the second level, but the game and mechanics are really smooth and are really enjoyable. I would tweak with difficulty a bit, especially on those first stages. Other than that - I love that drawn art style! :) Keep the good work up!

Thank You! :) You are right, fighting could be more responsive. I already have a lot ideas of how to fix that, unfortunately, I didnt have that much time to work on it during gamejam so I plan to develop it more in the future :) Thanks for pointing a light at this issue and thanks for feedback :) It means a lot and will help make this game something more <3

Thank You for feedback :) It means a lot <3

Thanks for Your opinion, it means a lot :) Ill be sure to check out Your title too!

Thank You :)

Sure, its on my list :)

No problem :) I plan to release Mac version, but unfortunately I forgot, that you cannot upload builds during rating process (which is reasonable ofc). I plan to develop this game further however, so You may have a chance to play it in the future :D
