I think that you got a concept for a great game, however there are some things that I'd like to see changed.
some smaller things:
-healing between stages would be really good. I lost 4hp on 1st stage and never recovered any
-different color for balls from the tank, so it's easier to track them
-ability to change bumper keys. z and / are certainly interesting, but an option to change it would be nice
some bigger things:
-ability to add some bumpers that don't do anything other than rebounce the ball would be really nice. They probably shouldn't count into the main limit though
-1 ball for the most time is... fine, but the game is definetely more enjoyable with more balls on the board. My solution for this is simple: 2 balls, spawning on different sides. It would require bigger respawn time and less damage, but I think that the game would benefit from that change
balancing also could be slightly changed, but the most important thing is the game feel. I really enjoyed my time with the game, and I would be glad if any of the features listed above were added. I will be definetely waiting for any updates
it's kinda interesting, but at some point scaling just goes out of the roof and the game becomes "get a good item or die". before I start speaking about my proposed solutions, let me state clearly what I think are the problems:
-it's almost always better to use items right after obtaining them
-the numbers scale up way too quickly
my proposed solution would be to make power escalation slower and allow the player to pick up 2 items after every turn.
another/additional way to incentivize players to keep the items for longer is to reward them for it. ie "take 3 damage. gain 4 shield. for every floor: gain +2 shield". that way players will think more about when to use the items, not only which one to choose.
another relatively interesting idea would be to add the ability to block as an action. currently you can only use items and attack, which is technically fine, but it's hard to make interesting strategies for it. block button could work in the exact same way as the attack button and get its own set of items. I definitely recommend it with the 2 items per floor suggestion.
the game is certainly interesting and I've spent ~2 hours playing it, and I think that it could have great potential in the future. I'm waiting for the future updates
really interesting game! i wish there was one more die, maybe nature as someone proposed. i feel like currenty the game is really fun and i spent a lot of time making my own challenges, so outside of adding more variety and making the game longer i probably wouldn't change the gameplay. love it, 5/5
it's really fun, but i think that ice is too weak to be used in the game, while i liked fire and electric powers(especially with 3-4 passive dice with those effects) i haven't used too much bring back power and i only used ice if there was nothing better. it's relatively replayable, but after ~10 games it starts becoming repetitive. i'm actually not sure how to fix it without big changes, so i hope that you will find a way to make it more replayable
i really like this game, but i think that some things are just too random(like a situation on the screen). i think that at least first draw at every floor should be 1 boost, 1 attacking and i deffence dice and 2 truly random dices.
some other things that i would love to see:
- reward for clearing a lot of floors in the previous game. it might be just a simple "choose 1 out of 3 dices" that is already in the game, or maybe more max hp at start (floor number / 2). almost every reward for playing will be good.
- "draw again" button, most likely costing 1 move.
- if you don't use all the moves in the previous turn, you can use them again(max 5)
