another amazing game. I really really like this one, its charming and cute. it brings me back to preschool, actually. its really really cool, and i love it.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate it!

Well, this is adorable. I loved being back at nursery again and making cute little models. I wish I'd remembered more glue though because my monster lost his eyes and legs. I think it gets a little fiddly moving the bar at the bottom to see the other items (maybe use the mouse wheel?) but that's a minor issue in a fun experience.

Developer

Thanks a bunch! Yeah the bar has some adjustments coming up as overall the user experience could be better for it. Thanks for sharing your Kraft, gonna place it up with the others!

This definitely felt like being in kindergarten again or at least playing doing krafts. This was a gleeful moment and had the awesome gimmick of being able to save your creation at the end. This allowed you to be creative with no stress involved an just have a silly time.

I played it here:

Hey, thanks for playing! Fun to watch someone actually play the game and see what they do! Will hang this one with the rest!

Yayyy, lol it's like giving a macaroni picture to your parents XD

This game is adorable and very different from most games in this jam. For some reason I was unable to rotate items to create my legendary flamingo bike, but seeing that no one else is having that problem, I think it's a me problem lol

The graphics are really cute and kid-like, but it would be cool to see this polished up even a bit more with photos of the objects or something. Not that it would've been necessary for a jam, but still would've been cool lol

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Rotation should be either A / D or Left / Right Arrow keys while holding an item. Holding involved actively grabbing / moving an object. The graphics being simple is mainly done because when many objects are combined together it can get very visually muddy, and this I thought this will help. All suggestions are appreciated tho and will help shape the future of the game so thanks!

i love this game, gluing stuff together and making creations was also an idea I had for the jam initially but it's executed so well here, lots of potential to expand this

Selection does get kinda janky when there's a bunch of objects that overlap but otherwise, the experience was pretty solid.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words! Selection is getting looked at  / reworked in the post-jam version so stay tuned!

A nice game! I enjoyed most of the UI except there’s no way to delete items, and there’s a propensity to place objects when scrolling. Other than that, a really cute game. Love the art and the UI was laid out well and intuitively. Great job! Can’t wait to see what you make next!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Scrolling while accidentally picking up items will be addressed in the post-jam build, as well as deletion for accidental pickups. I appreciate the kind words and hopefully you can look forward to the next version!

I hope you don't mind me taking a more serious look at your arts and krafts game here for a second haha. I think this is a breath of fresh air in this jam, but I had 2 big issues holding me back. The selectable item UI can be very sticky because of the way you drag it to get to new items and the hitboxes on some items are rather slender. I found myself trying to scroll to new items and would accidently place objects with no ability to delete them? (Yes they do fall off but they take up space regardless). My other issue was with glue and how it can feel cumbersome to go in and out of that mode to secure your art. I'm not suggesting you abandon the glue, but perhaps to find a way that makes it feel easier to pick up and plop some quick drops with. Really charming aesthetic on this one, I was really hoping I could use the pencil to draw on the paper but wasn't so lucky haha.

Developer(+1)

I definitely appreciate the extensive feedback!  Both big issues you mention are indeed issues, and based on lots of feedback so far, they will be addressed in the post-jam build.

Hitboxes on some items are indeed incorrect and luckily are easily fixed. I will find a better way to handle the item scrolling in the future as I do still want to keep the dragging as way of adding more to the board. Deleting also will be added and was mainly an oversight on my part.

Glue will be looked at as well, and your point about it is a good one. I will definitely be changing it to be even easier to use while Krafting.

Even drawing / painting might become an addition (should I get the shader to work lol) so stay tuned!

Thank you very much for the awesome feedback as these types of comments help shape the future of my projects!

What an unexpected treat! I love the small touches, like how you need to glue together pieces, and how unglued pieces just kinda fall apart.

I’d love to see even more crafty features. For instance, it would be cute if you could use finger paints to further customize your projects.

Developer

Thanks I am glad you like the game! Other craft features (such as painting, should I figure out the shader) and way more parts will definitely be added in the post-jam build!

This was super cute, and googly eyes are an instant win in my book. Nice work!

Thanks a bunch!

I love on how intuitive this game is! Welp, tbh its not really a game but toy because there's no goal, but idc, I'm having fun with it because I'm weak with this kind of game

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words! You nailed it right on the head, and I'm glad you are having a fun time!

amazing

Developer

Thanks! I'll hang this up

not really a game, but cute toy.. I like that

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Super cute game! Liked it! 😁 I would have like some creation challenges to keep the player engaged maybe 🧐

Developer

Thanks! There will be some more additions in the post-jam update to help with this a little, but for now its mostly open ended Kraft making.

Hi JoshuaPelican!

That was a blast! I replaced all the chocolate chips on the cookies with eyeballs. The photo download was a nice touch that I definitely didn't expect! I would have no clue how to begin coding that functionality. Cool stuff!

It reminded me of that minigame in Mario Party where you try to match the pizza by placing toppings. Maybe this game could me more engaging if the player had a goal or at least someone to compete against!

I loved the music and the artwork, and all your screenshots are really cool. Great job!

Best,

Brandon from TheIndieDream

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the detailed comment and I am glad you had a fun time! The screenshot functionality, while not entirely my code, was fun to setup and use for this game. I don't necessarily agree this game needs a goal as games usually have, but a planned post-jam feature is some template stencils to use as bases for making Krafts to help give an idea of how to get things started.

Submitted(+1)

That’s so cute, good job! I would probably also add an option to remove stuff as well.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! That will definitely be a feature in the post-jam build, also currently anything not glued down falls off at the end anyways.

Very cute little game. Loved it!

This game is a palate cleanser for the soul. 5/5.

Developer(+1)

Haha, I am glad you enjoyed it! I agree it is both relaxing and fun to mess around with. Gonna put that lovely face on the itch page!

I feel like my drawing has just been put on the refrigerator :O

All great works of art do!

Very fun game - clever use of the theme.

Small suggestion - I would like to cancel out/drop an item - I have to select and drag an item to get the other items. Maybe I am doing it wrong?

Developer

Thanks for playing! There is a scroll bar on the bottom of the screen you can use to get to the other items. If it is not there, please let me know if you were full screen or not, and I can take a look at fixing it in the next build. As for item deletion / removing, this will also come in the next build as I did not have the time to fit it in, and items always fall off if they are not glued when finished anyways.

Submitted(+1)

Thanks for replying - yes in full screen I can see the scroll bar. It would be nice to tweek the viewport so you can see the scroll bar in the normal view - full screen is a bit to big for me.
