Thanks!

Nice platformer! Very simple, maybe to improve it you could try implementing "coyote time" (there's probably lots of stuff covering it) as sometimes the platforming didn't feel very lenient.

Thanks! So glad some people can actually play my game :)

IMPORTANT!

If you're trying to figure out how to play the game, you have to install Opera GX (don't blame me, blame gamemaker) and then use the link at the bottom of the itch page in order to play it. Apparantly getting someon else to compile my game is breaking gamemaker tos, so I'm sorry about that

You have to install Opera GX and then the link to it is on the itch page (I'm sorry but its bc gamemaker)

Pretty nice game, quite simple and maybe a bit easy? I think maybe some more enemy variety would be interesting e.g. maybe ones that only the AI/you can kill which would make the gameplay cooler. Overall though, nice and juicy game!

Feel free to check out my game: https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-4/rate/1663155

Nice and simple platformer, maybe you could add some juice to the gameplay to make it feel better to play.

(1 edit)

If you're trying to figure out where you can actually play the game. the link is here: https://gxc.gg/games/r2rcj7/ultimate-tic-tac-toe-arena

(Sorry, but you do kinda need to install Opera GX to play - blame gamemaker and capitalism for that)

idk, i think cos it's on opera's platform or smt not many people can really play it?

I believe it was something to do with pressing the options after you had answered correctly maybe? I'm not really sure I was kinda spamming buttons. Also sorry in advance if you have to install like opera cos gamemaker free kinda sucks ;-;

Nice game, I really liked the gameplay (although yes, hold to fire would be much nicer). I think AI could be incorporated a bit more into the game instead of it being a random tower placed. My idea was that perhaps you could make a tower controlled by the ai for a short time, so it does more damage maybe and fires on its own. But overall, very simple and fun game.

I'd appreciate it if you tried my game if you have time: https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-4/rate/1663155

Honestly it's a pretty cool game, loving the creativity with the answers, although I think maybe some of them were a bit hard/weird. Also I somehow managed to break the lives so I didn't lose any lives? But for less than 24 hours it's a cool game.

If you have time, I'd very much appreciate it if you rated my game here: https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-4/rate/1663155

Wow this game is good. I really like the concept of this game, although I feel the AI bit was a bit tacked-on, like it was a really good game but I didn't really put much attention to it. One easy suggestion to improve it would be to maybe be able to see what you have in the next few houses, and maybe even tell you what the AI is going to pick.

However, if you're feeling like a lot of coding, I think you could improve the AI placement by calculating how many points you gain each turn once the AI has put their structure down, and depending on a difficulty value, decide how brutal it can be - since right now it can just place one in the middle of nowhere and you don't really have to worry about it. Really great job though - I could see this being definately expanded further!

Visuals were really nice, I thought the parallax in the art in general was really good. Perhaps you could make the physics less floaty and slidy as I kept on sliding trying to pick up objects! Apart from that, all I could really think of it to add more content, maybe in the form of an endless mode where the gaps between each obstacle start far apart but then get slowly shorter and shorter.

If you have time, I'd really appreciate it if you could rate my game here: https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-4/rate/1663155

Very nice start, especially for your third ever game jam! (I'm pretty sure my past ones suck)

For improving it, apart from more content, perhaps you could limit the amount of objects you can place, which will avoid just brute forcing the game and if you add more levels, it could turn out to have some very interesting levels.

Hello! This is the comment where you put your algorithms here, just like how I put mine in the description of this game. If you want it again, here's mine: 0105205001102580 (beat it I dare you)

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe the enemies move a bit much, they do have an unintentional habit of dodging your bullets! I'm planning to do a post jam version so I will take this into account. But thanks for rating my game!

Yeah I did have some i frame time when you get hit, for about a quarter of a second. Also I have never heard of that bug happening before...? I guess I will have to look at that for the post jam version. But thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! I'm planning to make a post jam version with all this feedback, so I will make sure to add some more vfx to the pickups!

Thanks! I'll make sure to do that in a post jam version,  it's just that I haven't really played around with controllers in gamemaker before... I guess it's never too late to try!

Thanks for the feedback! I do agree that I should've added a better death transition but sadly I had no time ;-;. Originally it was going to be a "enemies spawn every 10 seconds" but it felt kinda slow so I decided to change it.  But thanks for playing my game!

Thanks! I think more particle effects or some visual effects would've made the game clearer and easier to play.

Thanks! I thought that the low ammo would get people to use the charge shot more (because it's really fun to use) but a temporary damage boost would've been a good idea as well.

Thanks! I'll make sure to put some more details in the how to play section (If anyone reads it)

Really cool game! I loved the visuals and the attacks synced really well with the music, overall great job!

Thanks!

Thanks!

Very cool game, I like the idea of random events that can change your run. Maybe to make it more chaotic you could make more events (like invert controls) that would be funny. Overall, I like the game (and kind op fire rate).

Really fun game, loved the challenge and was very fun to play through. Great job!

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe next time I shouldn't source all my sfx from the same place..

Thanks for the feedback! I think maybe some more detail in the character or something probably would've made it stand out more but i kinda wanted to stick to the 1 bit theme (unlike my friend who made the thumbnail)

Yeah, to be honest I wasn't sure what I was going for with the sound effects (I was using the rescources from the wowie jam)

Thanks!

Great game, I love the visual effects and the sound effects, there's not much more to say other than great job!

Really fun, the game has really good polish and I love the visuals, if there would be one thing I think to change either the enemy dying sound or the play hit sound to something else as they sound quite similar.

Thanks!

Yeah haha I thought having to make the player conserve ammo by having to do efficient shots would be interesting, but thanks for the feedback!

Thanks, I think making the UI clearer would definetly be something to improve
