I enjoyed the difficulty of the game, and it felt really satisfying to make progress and squeeze through the tight gaps. The gravity switching did feel very slow, but I guess this was intended and I got used to it fairly quickly.
I also enjoyed the simple art, and it does the job of looking good while also conveying information.
I don't have much to critique, other than adding a way to track progress. I have no idea how far I got, maybe something like a progress bar?
Overall though really cool game :)
I'm not sure if I somehow downloaded the game incorrectly, but Mr. Wolf never seemed to turn around? I have no idea why, and it seems to work for everyone else in the comments.
The art is very cute though, and I like the general idea and I'm sure I would've enjoyed it. An end screen for winning would've been cool.
Overall a cool idea, it didn't work as intended for me though.
I personally didn't notice that issue, but you aren't the first person to point it out and I likely didn't notice as I was just used to the mechanics from all the testing. I should probably apply the velocity faster at first, then slow it down the longer you hold, so it feels more responsive and you don't sink as much.
Thanks :)
The score increments when you reach the end of a pre-generated obstacle, and sometimes these obstacles include two pillars or triangles, so you only get a point once you pass the second one. I believe that is what you experiences, unless I'm mistakes.
I do agree that this should be reworked though, as I can understand how that would feel confusing and frustrating
A cool idea and mechanically it functioned perfectly. I also enjoyed the overall aesthetic and the models, it felt unique.
One issue I found though is with the length of the ship, I felt as though it was a little too long where I would often clip the back of it on an obstacle when moving up or down, which was frustrating. This may just be something I would have to get used to.
Another thing I would improve would be the death sequence, it felt a little odd as the camera and ship would keep moving, and sometimes it felt unclear I had died even with the particles. In my opinion, I think it would make much more sense if the ship was destroyed and deleted and the camera stopped moving, this would make it much clearer that you failed.
Overall though I enjoyed it and wished it could be longer :)
P.S: You can just put your mouse at the very top of the screen and skip the whole game, even going above the cave. You do end up dying at the end though.
Cool game, reminded me a lot of the penguin game I used to play on my IPod lol.
The mechanics took me a few tries to properly use, and get the timing right on when to let go, but once I got the hang of it, it became much easier.
One aspect that I found jarring was the camera movement, sometimes it would zoom out and in and move around and it became a little distracting, and it was unclear what was causing this.
I also felt like some of the slopes were just too steep or not steep enough, meaning it was really hard to properly build up momentum. This combined with the strange hitbox, at least unclear hitbox, made keeping a high speed quite difficult, and usually unsatisfying.
Overall though I enjoyed it, and my high score is 745 :)
