Fun game!

Visuals and sfx suit it well, and difficulty curve is spot on.

Overall - great entry!

This was fun!

I'm not sure if answers are checked, because for most of non numerical questions  nonsence in. And that doesn't really matter.

Music, sfx and visuals are spot on. All the popups are very fun, and it's a shame I can not claim some of them as well!

Btw, when will my prize arrive? Should I wail for a call or something?...

What should I do?

I genually don't understand, in need of assistance.

It is a nice game. Visuals fit the concept, sfx give good feedback.

BUT

It's either way too hard or very unclear on the rules. I couldn only secure a window once because I would always run out of time. So a slight learning curve would be nice.

Quite a nice game!

I loved the concept. Worked on a similar idea some time before, but your execution is much better! Art, music and sfx work great together, and overall it played like a solid game.

Visibility-wise, I'd prefere area of view right after picking up a battery to be larger, because there are a lot of jumps that go out of it. It would be nicer to see them ahead and at least memorise where are you going.

I did run into some bugs: from time to time D and Space keys suddenly stopped working, whitch made it impossiple do go right and up respectively, so I couldn't get past lvl 3. If it ever gets fixed, would love to finish the game!

Simple, yet really cool! Art and sound work well together, game gives that "just one more time" feeling. Overall, great job!

P.S. Treat this comment as a petition to rename the meteors into space biscuits

Great game! Had a blast playing it! Controls took some getting used to, but ones I did - it way pure joy.  I only realised you can do damage by bumping into enemies when a card told me so. May be you could put whole instructions for people who are really bad at gaming. And kinda curious, does engine fire do any damage?

Very relaxing! Didn’t even notice how many times I played it!

And I’m pretty sure time spend on catching a golden fish is bigger than its bonus. Perhaps, you could tweak it a little

Oh yes, a double negative in the theme! That've caused some confusion in my head, so I googled the hell out of it. Genuinely, it means "do not hurt anyone", but grammatically you are correct, so do whatever pleases you (if it's not against the law).

Nice game!

I think that it would feel more responsive with few more soundeffects. And I got a bit lost after a room with a key, but figured it out after a couple loops.

The story felt a bit distant from mechanics. Perhaps, you could give the exposition through dialogs or make more connected to the story characters.

Great experience nonetheless, movement feels good, art is nice, soundtrack is very fitting. Great job!

Thank you!

Hi! It's more of a finger-drawn art, but fits enought: https://jul-li.itch.io/just-kidding

Hi!

I have a fairly stupid question. I made my soundtrack using beepbox (because I could). Should I convert it to something more readable for more musically educated folk or it is ok to use their built-in song player and/or editor? It doesn't want to be exported as .mid, so I'm not even sure I can make it look any better.

Hi! My puzzle here just for you (and every one interested): https://jul-li.itch.io/just-kidding

Well, I'm probably not sleeping tonight...

Nice graphics, I really liked wide angle-ish room design. And audio keeps the atmosphere of pure horror

Baby mode would have been appreciated by all easily scared ones of us. Other then that - great game!

Hi! Here's my creation: https://jul-li.itch.io/just-kidding

Hi! Here's my little puzzle. Hope you'll like it!

Hi! Here's mine: https://jul-li.itch.io/just-kidding

I'm pretty sure this game is bad for my ego.

I feel hurt! I spend a full day with my faithfull crowd and not one of them came to my church! NOT EVEN ONCE!

Nice game, btw

Hi! If you still have some time, here's my game: https://jul-li.itch.io/just-kidding

That's beautiful! I'm gonna eat some chocolate and take a nap now

I'm using Unity, that's how it works there.

There is a component on canvas called "canvas scaler". By default the scale mode in it is set to "constant pixel size". All you have to do is change it to "scale with screen size" and put the current screen size as a reference.

I'm not a very experienced game developer. I've only made 8 tiny games so far, so every new one is a whole lot of new techniques, mechanics and ideas I'm discovering while working on the easiest tasks. And this submission was no exception.

So, what did I learn?

Firstly, adding sounds to the buttons isn't that complicated, although a bit time-consuming. And buttons with sounds turned out to feel a lot more responsive. Surely keeping that skill for the future.

Secondly, vectors are cool! And you can make rays with them, and rays can do all your work for you. Such great little fellows!

Thirdly (is that a word?), you sould polish as much as possible before making a whole bunch of levels so you wouldn't have to change 15 scenes by hand. I should get a tattoo or something.

Fourthly (definitely not a word), if you make test builds after every questionable decision you won't have surprise malfunctions an hour before the deadline.

Fifthly, there is a way to make the UI work on any screen size and it's a pity I didn't know about it before. I probably should revisit my previous projects on that matter. That is probably the biggest thing I'm taking out of this experience.

And finally, a week - is a lot of time to work on a jam game. Sometimes it was hard to get to work because of no sense of urgency, but overall it was relaxing yet gave me a feeling of achievement. And for that, thank you, Brackeys Game Jam 2022.1! I have a slight feeling no one will read it, but if you do, you might as well share what did you get from this week. And have a great day
