i love both the sprites and the overall style, its really charming and consistent!! the learning mechanic was also a pleasant surprise that meshed well with the folklore theme. would love to see more if you finished this game!!

really love the creature designs, super cute and creative!! mothman is my favorite o.o

the graphics remind me of another game called vib ribbon! really cute, love how this game looks

I watched your cooking dev logs earlier in the year - super cool how far you’ve transformed this game and made it unique!!

Thank you!!

I might add fighting in the future! The reason the fish have horns was initially to ram into enemies, but it was hard to make it feel right. Hopefully I can implement it in a next version:) Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback!!

Oooo I really like this idea, maybe I will use it for the progression :) Thanks for playing!!

I planned on letting the predators attack each other to make it feel like a real ecosystem, but it started to get out of scope for the game jam, so maybe I will add that after the jam ends! Thanks for playing and for the feedback :)

:3 I always try to add as much “juice” as I can to my games! Thanks for the feedback, I will likely make an updated version :)

Thank you!!

I’m not sure how to play :( I can’t advance from the title screen. image.png

Wow, super fleshed out and well-made!! Making a fun RPG is hard, but making a fun one in only a week is even more impressive! I love the characters and story as well, made me a little sad when my shell friends died t^t My only suggestion is maybe make the text bigger, because it was a bit difficult to read at times. Amazing entry!!

I’m not sure why, but something about this game feels oddly comforting but also a bit creepy!! I felt like I was waiting for a jumpscare o.o love the presentation, nice entry!!

Thank you for playing :)!!

Thank you!! There is no ending, but I might add one after the jam period ends :)

I’ll try to look into this, thanks for reporting!

HOORAY!!!!!!!

This is so well done, its message is really inspiring. Thanks for making this!!

This was a really fun entry!! It took me 260 seconds, but it seems like a game that would be awesome to speedrun:) I love the main mechanic as well, very innovative twist on classic snake!! I would definitely play more levels of this

Simple but well executed concept:) I like how fine-tuned the controls are, and how its juuust possible to get from side to side of the screen with the wonky jumps. Also is the player supposed to be a tower of hanoi thingy? Fun entry!!

Aww the art in this entry is really cute, sandbox is a really creative and brave genre for a jam!! I love the sound choice as well, this is the first game I’ve seen putting the phone sounds to good use:)

I played from the version you posted on GitHub, very nice for you to make it open source and also make an entry without a standard game engine:) I also really like the central mechanic, usually games have “slippery ice” as a random obstacle, so it was fun to play through well-designed levels that fully took advantage of it!!

It’s cute (especially the monster designs), this feels like a game that would actually be on a nokia! It would be cool if there was more feedback on which letters were wrong, because I sometimes got a little stuck pressing lots of keys. This is a very polished entry!!

Thank you, SMT was a huge inspiration :) I’ll add an option for that after the voting period ends, thanks for the feedback!

I actually like the controls… They’re clunky but in a good way, and I feel like a stupid kid again trying to figure it out :P I had a lot of fun giggling and absolutely ruining every order. The art and presentation is really nice too, super polished!!

I love the animations and dialogue, the entire presentation of this game is really cute:)

Fun and janky (in a good way)!! Would be awesome to see this fleshed out:)

Thanks for the feedback, I will likely add that after the voting period ends:)

Thank you, I didn’t expect many people to get to the end!

Amazing level design!! Simple but executed really well, and all of the concepts felt intuitive with how they were introduced. Nice entry :)

I love the drawings and concept, this entry is really polished for the limitations!! Maybe add alternative controls, I had to use my onscreen keyboard for this one (which worked surprisingly well for this style of game)!

Really clear and polished designs:) I didn’t even notice the low resolution because of how clean the sprites were!! The animations were super cute too!

I like it!! Its cool how the levels are all connected, it feels like an exploration game:)

Ant burgers 🙂👍 cute, reminds me of the papa’s pizzeria games

(For some reason it doesn’t load on Firefox, but Chrome works) Finally my classic dungeon crawler skills can shine >:3 Cute rats, I like the challenge of bumping around the walls to find the exit

Congrats on your first game!! Definitely make more :) Simple and fun concept executed well!

I had some trouble figuring out what to do, but it was fun once I had an idea :) I slapped too many of my minions though… nice entry!!

Unfortunately, I can’t progress because the S button doesn’t do anything:( thumbnail looks really cool though

NOOOO the plane level 😭 JK, I picked this entry because your concept video looked innovative and the game definitely delivered. I love the mini games in between, it feels like an actual retro game with bonus levels. The wrecking mechanic is really satisfying too!
