Hello!
It's been quite a long time since I participated in a jam, and then I've mostly been solo and squeezing in some barebones art at the last stretch.
I would like to focus mostly on art for a jam and not worry too much about the other stuff for a change.
1. What can I do?
I'm a gamedev generalist, but I lately focus on all things 3D art.
I can do all manner of modeling and texturing, rtvfx. I can also do rigging and animation, but I am less versed in it.
I am very experienced with Unity, and decently with Godot. I've used Unreal (UE5) only for art projects, never for game development, but am decently introduced with the art side of things.
2. What would I like to focus on?
3D art is what I would like to focus on for this jam.
My art portfolio, which is not particularly up-to-date : https://www.artstation.com/klosterliv
I am ready and willing to work in any art style, but perhaps preferably one that is not too simple and not too complex, so I can make a lot of art/assets but not be too limited.
3. What can't I do?
I can't make original music. I have no experience using UE for anything other than mucking around with art.
4. What don't I care about - i.e. other people can have "full reign" over?
I care about everything about a project I involve myself in, but for this game jam I would specifically challenge myself to focus on the mood and visuals and resist putting my nose everywhere else, bar amiable suggestions and requested feedback.
5. What is my time commitment to this project?
I have few commitments and can afford a lot of time for the project. Probably several hours per day if it gets off to a decent start.
6. What kind of games do I like? What genres or game types do I enjoy playing or working on, or would like to try making?
I love strategy and simulation games, but I mostly play action games and RPGs with friends and like those also. I dabble in anything.
For a project to personally work on I would prefer something in the realm of surreal or fantastical (including darkness and horror), or historical. I would probably not be very excited working on something like hard sci-fi, military or industrial realism.
It would be a lot of fun to join in on a game jam! I think it's a lot of fun and super engaging, and it's been way too long!
