I got annoyed by the maze resetting every 15 seconds so i didn’t play very long. The gameplay was solid though and the music was the best part.

You beared with it to 150 points!? It was never intended to last that long lol! Yeah, i had a lot more plans like other enemy types and boss fights but that was too much for me to do in the time period. Thanks for the suggestions though. I didn’t have time for in-game instructions so the colored balls are mentioned on the game page instead. Sorry about that.

I think it was the last in a series of 5? Maybe? I don’t remember. Like i said, it’s not a big deal.

I got stuck on the 3rd level, as in i couldn’t figure out how to escape that one.

Anyway, pretty good execution though the jumping was a bit of a hassle. It keeps jumping if the spacebar is still pressed which is annoying because i tend to be slow at releasing the spacebar. I think the user should have to first release the spacebar before jumping again. Just my opinion though.

I was going for short gameplay since the game is lacking other mobs or bosses, or just anything exciting at all. So between frustrating + short or easy + boring, i chose the former and made the bullets start slow. Thanks for the feedback though!

Edit: I added the powerup effects in the game description. I know it should say in-game somewhere, but i didn’t have time for that.

If you hold the mouse click, the tongue stays out. I’m not sure what the events are in Unity but i think an onmousedown event would work better in case of a slow click, instead of onmouseup.

It seems that you don’t need to aim the tongue, just click on the correct sprite. If you continue this or do something similar, may i recommend having the tongue go where the click was and then testing the end of the tongue on a sprite to see if they got it.

Cute game though.

Thank you!

Pretty solid game for this jam. No complaints except the saw blade got me without touching. Not a big deal though so good job!

I agree. My list of improvements is much longer than that though. I just didn’t have the time to do them. I’ll add the powerup colors in the description, but in-game instructions would have been better.

Thank you!

Yes, you have to click in the game window to play anyway otherwise it doesn’t capture the mouse cursor.

It seems to be worse in some places (near the fenced area) than in others but in general i noticed the framerate is much better when looking toward the edges than it is looking inland.

I can’t play the download version because i’m on Linux and it won’t start on my wine configuration.

  • Firefox 99.0.1
  • WebGL 1 Driver Renderer: AMD – AMD Radeon RX 480 Graphics (POLARIS10, DRM 3.42.0, 5.15.28-1-MANJARO, LLVM 13.0.1)
  • WebGL 1 Driver Version: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 21.3.7
  • WebGL 2 Driver Renderer: AMD – AMD Radeon RX 480 Graphics (POLARIS10, DRM 3.42.0, 5.15.28-1-MANJARO, LLVM 13.0.1)
  • WebGL 2 Driver Version: 4.6 (Core Profile) Mesa 21.3.7

The framerate tanked so i couldn’t even look around.

Thank you for the kind words!

The performance dropped massively while i tried playing it in the browser. It started fine but became unplayable within a minute. I verified that WebGL is enabled and working.

From what i saw this looked cool, especially for a newbie jam. Nice job with the 3D modelling!

Really nice game, only thing it’s missing is a game over scene. Well done!

Ideally i would have had time to add a volume control instead of a brute-force mute all button. Thanks for the feedback, i’ll take a look at your game as soon as i can.

Thanks for the comment!

There are powerups that can drop that decrease reload time and increase bullet speed.

Kind of like with your game though, i just didn’t have enough time to do what i wanted and polish things up. Thanks for the comment!

Given the timeframe, i think you did a good job. I know you’re aware of some of the bugs but i really didn’t like the screen flash. I think you should add a warning about flashing lights.

I’ll be honest with you, i don’t like to read so i would have liked to skip the intro or have it shortened.

Shoutout to HTML5 play in browser submissions!

I like the concept and the theme. I was able to glitch past the last blockage on accident. Actually i was stuck on the bottom part where it’s thin and in trying to wiggle out, it let me through to the finish.

I think everyone who deployed to HTML5 for play in browser deserves a shoutout!

First time uploading to itch.io and my first game jam so i don’t know about the process.

  1. If i upload my project now, can i still modify it before the deadline?

  2. What’s the policy on modifying a project after the jam is over (in case we want to continue/finish the work later)? I assume wait until after judging has ended before uploading any new changes?
