Another dev from stuff I got axing contents even from users' libraries. What's with my luck recently? And if the issue is people not getting their money's worth out of the game while suggesting piracy, wouldn't it be better to issue refunds as requested, and disable purchases and making it download only here on Itch, instead of doing what sounds a lot like theft?

If this is not a lie, which, given how other companies say in similar situations, is very hard to believe, it's nothing a simple title change wouldn't fix. But in the unlikelihood it was a sincere move, it also shows that either you guys don't think things through, or have no notion of respect for ownership. And with a precedent for this type of move, who's to say you won't do it again.
Maybe through the Itch launcher? The launcher just downloads the web build, and some times the web build is just a wrapper for the actual game.
And the cart can be downloaded from the site of the engine's developer for sure:
https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=73825#p
Click on the pink and white "cart" (or the "cart" text besides it) on the bottom left of the web player and download the .p8.png image. That's the cart and is playable on the PICO-8 engine, so it possibly runs on emulators too.
All 3 games' Windows builds have Linux executables, so maybe it would be good to tag the Windows builds as Linux too? Itchio allows tagging a same build as being for multiple systems.
Also, if I may be so bold to ask, would it be possible to make an APK version for each game here on Itchio too? Some people don't/can't/would rather not use Google Play, and the games use Ren'Py, meaning it should be possible to port them to Android.
From what I read, apparently, it's possible to bypass the 64-bit limitation and install 32-bit programs in it.
Alternatively, you could try looking for some Android-on-Android emulators or virtual machines, so you can play an older version of Android without hunting down older hardware, without tempering with your phone's system, and without looking for bypass methods.
Some initial observations, (hopefully) positive criticisms, and suggestions (DO MIND SPOILERS, OTHER USERS):
- Portuguese localization could use some work. It feels as if I'm reading a MTL or it missed the proof-reading part of the translation process, if done manually. English TL seems good, though, although it feels a bit stiff. And I haven't checked other localizations.
- Character expressions could use some work too. One very early example is Jessica's first appearance, where supposedly she's angry, so displaying a soft/caring smile doesn't seem fitting. I'd imagine her at most with a condescending or even straight up arrogant smile instead, or even an angry expression altogether, with no semblance of smiling. Another case is in the first event for Nikita, where her daughter is show, through her portrait in the scene, as having a neutral smile and no sign of stress whatsoever, despite being in a heated fight.
- Voices are split between the voices and miscellaneous sound settings, so if someone wants to adjust voices, they would need to set both. Perhaps it would be interesting to put all voices under the same setting to avoid confusion.
- Transitions seem a bit abrupt, and some times the game requires user input to move from a transition, but it doesn't tell the player anywhere it needs user input. And once or twice, I spotted scenes where I'd expect a transition, but there was none, such as when the protagonist's room is first shown.
Hi!
The Windows build includes what appears to be the source code of the game:
Dunno if it's on purpose or it was an accident, but since devs don't usually share source code for their commercial products (games like Doom and Anodyne being outliers), I thought maybe it'd be interesting to tell you guy(s?) about that.
Still, if the code could be left available, even with the game being a commercial product, it would show, at the very least, a vote of confidence, specially with how Unity (the company behind the engine) behaves.
I wish Itchio would add better filtering systems, or improve the existing ones...
I'm also not fond of finding horror projects when looking for entirely unrelated contents. Simply being able to hide/block content creators' projects (or the content creators overall) from appearing in search results, like Steam does for ignored titles, should suffice in this case, I think.
Hello.
Would it be possible to enhance the browseability of the store by adding more filtering and sorting options?
Considering what I observed in the store, those are some of my suggestions of what could be added:
- Having, besides the AND search logic, the OR and NOT search logics as well
- The user being able to blacklist specific games, tags and creators so he/she doesn't see related contents when browsing the store
- Being able to remove certain tags, content creators and specific keywords from search, like, for example, how Google would do, e.g. "gameboy -tag-horror" (without quotation marks) to search all titles with "gameboy" in the name, but removing all projects that include the "horror" tag
- More options such as sort/filter by price, discount and/or name
- Expanding the filtering and sorting options to collections, the user's own library and the "Recommended for you" page (https://itch.io/library/recommendations)
- Anything else I have missed?
Thank you for your time.
