Got to try your game, it was pretty interesting! Awesome to see you managed to make a game in ASM haha
I do have some feedback for you:

  • For anyone who didn't know how the game worked beforehand, it would be very difficult to determine which console to use, and how to play at all.
  • Interesting interpretation of the theme, when it works it works well.
  • There still are seemingly a few bugs with your program, such that it wasn't really able to run as well as maybe it could have. I had to restart a few times while playing.

Not bad at all!

smh yasa how am I going to rate your game if there's no game

good use of the theme

Checked out the game, had a good laugh! Brings back some interesting memories...
Anyways, feedback time!

  • I think you definitely nailed the perceived lag here -- it was very convincing, even the audio!
  • I do wish there was a little more "game" content.

Overall, pretty good work!

Pretty good! Now, onto my feedback:

  • I found it was a little bit difficult to read the text on top of the grass background -- white and relatively thin may not have been the best choice here 😅(Generally speaking, you want to have size, neutrality, and contrast for any text that the user needs to be able to read. Something a bit bigger, and possibly easier to see like black in this case, might help you out here.)

The gameplay was alright, and so was the music. Keep it up!

Got to try your game today, and it was quite well-made! However, I do have some notes on a few things:

  • If you make a second shot, the trajectory indicator does not show up. I imagine this game was meant for one-throw wins, but it is something to keep an eye on.
  • You don't actually have to get the ball through the hoop in order to win -- if you just hit the net underneath the hoop, you get full credit. That might be something to take a look at later.
  • I was unable to move any blocks during the countdown timer, like mentioned in the instructions. It could have just been a bug on my end or yours, but after multiple attempts I wasn't able to get it working.

Aside from all this, the graphics were great, and the audio was decent enough. Well done!

Hey, thanks for playing!

I can confirm, I kinda suck at this game  🤣 but it's a fun time for sure.

I'm glad that you like the music! It's definitely some of my better compositions thus far, and I'm pretty happy with the ones presented in-game.

Ah yeah, graphics....I think you can tell this game feels a little bit unfinished 😅 I had some plans, but they got dashed away very quickly when I spent half the time making the song editor! Missed opportunity, honestly. And as for a story and theme that would be very nice to add as well.

All in all, thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for trying it out!

1. I was thinking about better ways to show the notes honestly 😅 just didn't really have time to bother with it. I'll definitely have to improve it at a later time.

2. Oh yeah, I've gotten this recommendation before XD I agree it'd be very nice to have better feedback -- I know what I'm working on post-jam hahaha

Hey man! Lucas here, thanks for checking us out! It means quite a bit that you like our game -- and of course, that you like our music :)
Thanks for playing :D

It was pretty tough to get through most of the levels, but a little patience and perseverance helped out :D

Honestly though, the ragdoll was a pretty cool mechanic, but the player would just get mangled after a bit of dragging around. It would help if there was a way to either respawn the ragdoll in its current place with the correct alignment, or if there was a way to restart a specific level rather than the entire game.

Besides that, it was pretty interesting. The audio played along pretty well for the vibe of the game. And of course, a pretty interesting take on the theme. Not bad at all!

Thanks for playing! I hear ya on the driving -- I had quite a bit of trouble adjusting to it as well haha

As for its purpose, we had only really been able to get through half of our planned story. In the finished version, we would likely have a much better handling system as well as a proper car chase. But of course, a week was just not enough for us to get it done.

Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed our game! Thanks again :D

Not bad! It definitely feels a bit empty with how much open space there is, and the jumping is a bit floaty, but the overall gameplay worked well enough. You might also consider working on your audio -- it was very quiet within the game.
Regardless, not too bad for a 3D game made in a week. I was especially a fan of the text you chose to dedicate to the theme, but I'm not too sure if it connected well to the game itself.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for trying out our game! Glad you enjoyed it -- honestly, if we had more time i would have loved to create wider roads to more easily allow car driving. I'm in a similar boat as you, crashing into things often haha

Glad you liked the music as well! Fitting the atmosphere of a detective was my goal :) I'll be sure to try your game later on when I have some time ^^

Solid choice of music!

Personally, I think you nailed the aspect of the caring "friend" -- but of course, that's probably a bit subjective.
Moving on from that, I really like how the game progressed! Although I did have to consult the comments and guide a bit in order to see how to work the painting, overall the game was very well-made and covered all the points I would hope it did.
On a second note, I kinda wish there was some sort of use to the mobile phone and the telephone, considering we were given our parents' number to call.
Great work overall!

Really quite nice, short and sweet! Your choice of audio doesn't detract anything from the game either, not bad at all.
If I had any recommendations for you, it would be to increase the task and health visibility, as well as to possibly add some more challenge to the game. It was certainly a fun take on "spot the difference", but I do wish there was a bit more.
Either way, what you did manage to put together this time around was really solid. Nice work! ^^

Coming from a student studying audio and sound design as a hobby, I'm absolutely starstruck by the music you managed to put together for a week-long game jam. The different voice lines for each new character, the simplified version for the main menu, and the fact that you included voice acting for the game as well. I can't express how well done this is.

This game is really well made, too! I spent a good 20 minutes playing the 4th level -- personally, I think you could have upped the overall difficulty a bit more, even if by just increasing the ghost count by one more. Although, I definitely enjoyed being able to hear the music the whole time!

Nothing short of 5 stars for that audio. For. Sure.

This is a very nice platformer! I like the graphics style quite a bit, and the ending run was as challenging as it was inspiring in terms of details. Awesome work :D

Aw gee, thank you for playing -- glad you liked it so much! Our storywriter will definitely be happy to hear about it, as will the artist and gameplay designer. I'm the sound designer of the team, and I can't thank you enough for the thoughts on the audio -- that was pretty much exactly what I was going for! :D

Thank you! Our storywriter and artist had quite a fun time putting things together visually -- glad you liked it ^^

Haha, yeah our storywriter really pulled out all the stops on this one! Glad you liked it ^^

Solid, chill, relaxing music. 8/10 would lo-fi again

This is a pretty solid submission. I like the way you decided to take the theme -- a pretty fun twist on the standard bullet hell. Nice work!

Quite an interesting game, with some pretty cool turn-based mechanics. If it were continued I'd love a more controlled way to see your stats, change your moves, and get to know the system better.

Apart from that though, the music was a little repetitive and clashed quite a bit when two sets of background music played at once. Not very pleasant to hear, heh.

Overall though, pretty good job.

This is a pretty interesting concept for a game. Bird flight could definitely use some polishing, but that's to be expected. Nice work overall -- I'd definitely consider playing a game from a bird's eye POV when you're actually the bird :D

Pretty nice! Difficulty definitely scales up through the levels, and the audio is quaint. Decent platformer, good job!

Not bad overall! A pretty nice platformer -- definitely felt somewhat difficult in the later levels. Good work!

A full RPG from scratch. Nice job! I do think the collisions with some of the objects had too wide a hitbox, but it plays pretty well. The audio fits the game quite well -- definitely a lot of pluses on this overall!

Not bad at all! A bit generic, but well-made.

Absolutely awesome, dude! First-rate theme choice, first-rate gameplay, and in your own game engine.

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :D

Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it -- we've been considering completing the story as well.
We shall see! :D

Thanks so much! Have to hand it to Mali, our storywriter -- they really helped the storyline come to life. We'll have to see about those car controls if we continue the game. Glad you enjoyed it! :D

Thank you so much! glad you enjoyed it -- was quite a lot of fun to make, even through the deadline! Hoping to continue the game down the line :)

Thanks! Much appreciated ^^

Thank you! Glad you liked the game and soundtrack ^^

Thanks! Glad you liked it :D

Thank you so much, glad you liked it!

Thanks! Glad you liked my sound design :D

This graphical style is borderline flawless! The audio is quite charming and melancholy, absolutely fits the vibe of the game. I would definitely spend hours trying to beat this game :D

Thanks! We had quite a bit of fun getting this all to work ^^
