A really good concept! Shame you ran out of time to work on it more. I think maybe you could add a little more texture to the map. Sometimes i can't tell if the background is moving because its one solid color.
Really good for your first game jam! I think you may want to speed up the orders because sometimes I have plenty of plants and are just waiting for orders to come in. Also, you can consider adding new, more expensive plants. This will make the game more interesting as a person plays the game.
A great game concept, but I feel like it was just an endless task of getting humans without any challenges. Maybe an opponent or a twist in the game would be nice,
