Hey - thank you for playing the game!

I completely agree RE: it being hard to understand, but sadly we ran out of time to really tailor the UX and do a tutorial - something we'll address in a later version post-jam :)

Thank you for linking the stream too, it's a fantastic user experience demonstration and shows us where to improve - especially in communicating mechanics (and showcasing the end-game bug). And well done for playing  jam games for almost 6 hours!

Cute theme, and nicely done - especially given it was only 48 hours!

Well done :)

If you're still looking for games, consider giving ours a go :)

It's all about choosing who to sacrifice (the gift of life) for the good of the Viking Clan - so may be a bit of fun for a stream!

We uploaded something that wasn't a game file for the actual jam submission (typical game jam sleep deprivation), so there's a link in the comments to the (mainly working) build!

Short and sweet, and very charming! Loved the twist of what the king truly desires - I fell for it the first round!

Full of character, very well done.

Hooray!

Yeah, that's very fair feedback - something we'll definitely address once the jam is over :) And yes, that's something that we just ran out of time to address during the jam (but again, something we'll add post jam). That's a balance issue I ran into as well (RE: villager number) so definitely something to look at.

That's very high praise, thank you! Never played Kingdom, but I've certainly played Reigns so that was something that definitely inspired some elements. In fact the board game version of Reigns the Highrollers played a few weeks ago was something that was in the back of my mind, for sure.

Thank you for the feedback, very appreciated :))

Absolutely phenomenal effort - congratulations, that is brilliant!

Loved the gameplay, the artwork -  a super polished experience.

Very well done, great job!

Cute, quick, and simple!

I wasn't sure of what I had to do at the start, and some quicker reaction times would've been helpful. Either way, good work!

Nice concept, and I personally like the Octopath style where you have pixel art characters in a 3D world. With some of the pacing issues, the lack of sound really made the pace feel slower than it already was. However, this is a game jam not a professional piece - you should be impressed with what you got done!

EDIT: If you do revisit the game / tweak some values, I'd be interested in replaying it.

It's about a Viking Clan who have to choose who to sacrifice each night (as an offering / gift to a vicious beast tormenting village) whilst they build up their longboat to escape after twelve days.

Loved the graphics and general concept - and the character models were great!

Unfortunately I found the controls confusing - it says WASD in the controls in game, but the actual movement was bound to the arrow keys.

Good work overrall :)

Loved embracing the Placeholder art! Game was genuinely challenging with the swarms and updated enemies in the second level, you should be pleased!

Good work :))

Hey! Would love if you could give some feedback to our game! (forewarning, the actual game is in the comments due to no game actually being uploaded)

https://itch.io/jam/yogscast-game-jam/rate/535990

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The voice acting was a unique twist which I loved (though sometimes the background music was a touch too loud!) And the art was fantastic.

Also, Pflax was great. Good work!

Short and sweet - loved the artwork, and the sprite of Sips! And the opening screen's animation (where the letters bounce in) so smooth!

Would've been nice if it had been a little big longer, but I did enjoy it :)

Good work!

A very sweet, wholesome game which honestly gave me a smile the whole way through.

The mechanic of colour, and it limiting your jumps , was very nice - and I must admit it took me a while to realise that the animals would help you (and weren't reawakened enemies!)

Good work!

Great visuals, audio, and effects! Gameplay is simple but really fun to play. Enjoyed a lot :)

The upgrade system is a fun play on the theme. Good work!

Thanks for a great thread idea!

Our game is actually in a link in the main comment on this post by me (we done goofed and uploaded some random file for the actual submission), so if you want to play the actual game and come back to vote that'd be appreciated. Or at least play the real thing and pass on some feedback, we'd really appreciate it :))

Hi! If you're still interested, we've re-uploaded the build (and it works this time!)

It still has some bugs, but on the off chance we're still considered for the game jam, we thought it only fair to submit what we'd actually done :)

Thanks! And let us know what you think!

ahhh! Not good at all!

I'm currently on a train, but I will sort it out once I get home in an hours time.

We done goofed - we uploaded the game... without a game.

Click here to actually play the game (it's just another Game Upload on Itch.io)

Thanks for your interest, hope you enjoy and happy sacrificing! (and let us know what you think!)

We know this may not count towards the Jam, but we just want to show off what we did as we're proud of it!

Yup, we've just noticed that ourselves - the actual build never made it up (oops! Tired game jam woes).

It may not count towards the jam, but here is the project on another page so people can still play what we spent 48 hours making.
