Thank you so much for your feedback!

We do want to overhaul the UI a bit so its less of a popup and more of a screen effect perhaps. we also want increase the lethality of the monster seeing as a lot of people found it too easy to avoid.

we are glad you found the experience interesting :)

In essence yes, it involved a bunch of raycasts that spawned sprites on a canvas in relation to camera screen space. It what the trickiest part of the project to try get working, but very happy with how it turned out

Thank you so much for your feedback :D
-We were actually wanting to increase the lethality of the monster, but were worried about making it too diffcult so we opted to lean on the easier side, however seeing everyones feedback I definetly do think we will make it more dangerous!
-I also really like the idea for the more transparent enemy, we will probably look at implementing that as well.
-Also thank you for your notes on the colors, we can definetly adjust them without too much issue, we kind of just went with colours that stood out initially.

We really appreciate your detailed feedback, its very helpful. and we are glad you enjoyed the game :

I enjoyed your 2D platformer, you had audio, functioning menu systems and nice artwork. your puzzles were easy to solve, but difficult to carry out the solutions. I appreciate the effort that you put into this especially for a very short span of time.

my biggest note for this game, would be that the player moves too fast. when it came to the puzzle where you had to jump on the blocks but not touch the blocks that pushed you, it is a very difficult jump to make because of how fast the player moves.

otherwise It was overall a very solid platformer :)

Your game was enjoyable and quite well put together, I was surprised at how long I played it for. I love that it was a mix of both puzzle and a shooter. :D

a few notes i made were: I found the enemies a bit difficult to shoot without getting shot in the process as they would all bunch up together and spam shoot me. perhaps giving their speed and movements a bit more variety could have helped witht at.

the other note i had was the big enemy boss, I wasnt sure how to get past that area without dying. I couldnt kill the boss, and if i tried to rush passed and solve the puzzle he would ultimately kill me.

Otherwise I loves the puzzle sections, they really made me think at one or two parts which I quite enjoyed. In terms of theme, I would have lent more into the echoes of nuclear past with perhaps some symbology (the radiation symbols for instance) or clues to the nuclear past present. Overall I am very happy with how much you did for the short time span :)

Your game is a great start, especially for a first submission. I like the animation you put into the player model and your scene was colourful. Unfortunately I can see you didn't add more levels in the time given, but with practice you can really do something with this game.

A tip, for the player model I would lock the rotation on the rigidbody, to prevent the player from rotating - which happened when i jumped over the block.

Otherwise keep up the work and hope to see what you do in future game jams. :)

I enjoyed your game, I really think you did a good job with the sonar mechanic. and I particularly love that you added little effects to the ship when you did something, like speeding up = pulled the lever up.

some notes I would make is adding some sound or perhaps some moving obstacles to keep the player engaged. It also took me a while to figure out how to start again after i stopped the boat. But otherwise with some polish it could prove to be quite promising :)

I know this was unfortunately incomplete, but what you did have I was quite surprised with. The controls were very intuitive, the navigation of a grid was really well done. I especially love the trail it shows the player.

It is a pity there wasnt more to the game to go with the mechanics, I feel like it would have been something I would have really enjoyed. :)

I struggled a bit with this game, I would randomly die and respawn not really sure why. I did notice the trick to dealing with guards but everytime i got caught my echo didn't follow my path when I reset.

I do think this game has a lot of promise! it had a cool theme behind it, I love the puzzle aspect of the game. And for your first game jam this was a lot of work and done well. I know it can be difficult to have it running smoothly without bugs in such a short time span, so really you guys did well.

I enjoyed the puzzle aspect of your game, It was fun to try an figure out. The theme was also super fitting.  For your first game in such a short time span, this is really good and you should be proud :).

one comment I would have is when introducing new blocks to the player, I wasnt really sure what they did until i shot at them. I did notice you had a tutorial screen showing them al but I couldn't remember all the blocks XD. But otherwise great game, i did enjoy it :D

The visual style of the game is gorgeous its probably my favourite part of this game! The theme fit perfectly and I had a lot of fun playing, it did get addictive. even if i kept shooting myself XD.
