Cool and very atmospheric, I really like the sound and art.
The naturalistic elements are amazing, the fact that the moon's gravity pulls the island is a really apt thematic touch.
been moving around for a few minutes and didn't find the lava island, perhaps a form of guidance can be implemented in theme , like puffs of ash coming from it's direction, or a flock birds showing the way.
This game made me think of Pocahontas for the MegaDrive / Genesis, I think its got a similar vibe.
haha, an endearing game.
I like the format the game is presented in, and some very clever storytelling. I even felt some suspense and intrigue due to the good mixture of visuals and audio.
Nothing really comes to mind in terms of fixes / minor improvements that wouldn't be considered feature creep, its a well contained game that delivers.
Additional features I could suggest are a chapter select system, overview of the branching choices, completionist bonus, secrets.
Well done, its a great entry!
Reading is not a great skill of mine, but despite it you presented a good well written story.
The text effects were mostly beautiful, though sometimes they make it really hard to read.
and sometimes the buttons are slow to show up, perhaps make the buttons or the presentation speed up if the mouse is clicked.
Nice touch of African mythology, I feel myself inspired, Might delve into it myself in future dev ventures.
This game reminded me of the dreams section in the game "Lost Odyssey",
I totally agree with you.
A big idea of the game is the progression system, that is colour and upbeat audio returning to the character's base, being a metaphor for one's mental state.
The fishing task / minigame was kinda shoehorned in for the sake of a having a challenge for the player and actually gamifying the experience. The team definitely expressed that was something to be improved upon; original idea was to have multiple things for the player to do, but as jams usually go, we minimized our scope.
Appreciate the thorough feedback :)
