The only way the game ends is for you to either die or fail to meet quota. So the quota going up quite steeply ensures the game will eventually end, and you can compete to go the longest/get high score.
Balancing the quota amounts was quite hard, and I didn't have that much time for it during the jam.
Anyway thanks for playing, hope you enjoyed it.
Hey, kind of a neat concept for a game, looks like it has potential. A few points:
* Requiring people to actually run the game through python/pygame is kind of a big barrier for entry. There are tools like py2exe which can package it into a more convenient format.
* Are those assets ripped directly from FFT and Chrono Trigger? That kind of thing isn't great, and you could be sued (at least if you ever make any money).
* I got stuck on the third tutorial. After throwing the Amulet over to the archer and shooting the sprite, nothing else happend and I didn't seem to be able to move on.
I think that's fair. Personally I haven't played Donkey Kong 64 or a game with a a similar mechanic, but maybe I could have predicted some of the issues.
A lot of this jam for me was a learning experience in making a game in 3d for once, so it definitely isn't perfect.
Also it's a game jam, what did you expect for the final door?
