Quite confusing, but nevertheless incredibly well made platformer which controls feel natural after playing for just a few minutes. Thank you for making this!

I didn’t understand what I was supposed to do. Sometimes I would repeat the level like 3 times, and sometimes I wouldn’t even finish the level and move on. It looked and sounded nice, the controls were solid.

Really cool game! Love the devlog. Looking forward to following your channel and getting your insight in the future!

I actually found restarting at the same level to be a pleasant surprise! I'm not good at these kinds of games and it can get VERY boring to have to replay the same scene/level over and over until I "get it right". This was different and interesting.

Also, I almost made my game have the same neon aesthetic, but changed my mind. I'm glad you stuck with it!

Nice work on this hyper stylized platformer. I liked the vibrant colors and music as it really added to flow of each map as you collect the little pickups. This would make a fun little mobile game.

The game was fun and challenging.. If you made it even more punishing you'd probably have a rage game XD. I actually was very confused when the same level I died at was the same level I started at. It didn't really make the "Game Over" feel game over. The only thing that changed was the score. And I also was incredibly confused when the level switched. Sometimes I confused the level switching to a game over. Also probably should make how many times you have to do the "there and back" more clear, or do I just do it until the level switches or I die? Anyway good game! Good luck in the jam.

And side note: How did you make a video in four days after the jam. XD After the jam I felt so burnt out to make a vid. Probably cause I attempted a complex idea..

Developer

I made the game start over from the level you're on so that you have more time to get used to the layout of the levels, otherwise you'd only reach certain levels with nearly no health left, and the idea is to learn them all and kinda 'loop' for as long as you can. But I do need to look into whether that's particularly user friendly.

Also, the video was the easy bit! I work from home and have a lot of 'downtime' so I just edited it together inbetween doing my day job.

Thanks for playing!

I really really like the movement. It's both tricky and and fun to master. The game has a couple of flaws in my eyes. The goal of the game and why things happen were though to understand. But past that, my main issue is that bot every level has teh same collectable/second ratio. And since you start your game on the level you lost, some games are bound to last shorter than others (looking at you, pink level). But I had a great time, the blue and purple levels were my favourite and I managed a 13 736 points high score :)

Cool high energy atmosphere. Took me a little while to understand what was going on/my goal. Nice feel to the jumping and collecting too.

A much more arcady type of game. But rather fun. The movement and jumping of the cube feels great and just right for my tastes. Wish there was an option to fullscreen the game or reduce the game's sound because it blasted me when I first played it. The art is rather simple, but everything is obvious to its purpose by playing. I do however wish that the clock for the level switch was a bit more obvious when it was getting to a switch, perhaps it pulsing or changing color would be helpful? The theme of there and back is interestingly done and collectible being life is really a concept I've only seen 1 time before on this jam.

The game is fun, but not very engaging, You should do something to make the players keep playing a little longer. Also, I think that the time bar should stop when you change map, because you don't know very well where the player starts or where to go and you loose some time: I lost the game two times when the map changed. You could also put particles to improve the game feel. You could also change the controls for computer, put a and d to move and the space bar to jump.

I don't suppose you happen to remember which levels you were on where the timer didn't pause during transitions? Because you might've found a bug, because that's definitely something I planned for and thought I'd implemented.

Thank you for your feedback!

The first time I played I didn't see the timer stopping but I played again and it does stop, sorry for confusing you. Maybe you should pause timer a little bit longer? You could also start it when the player starts moving, so that you can see where you are.

Now that I played again I like it more than before, it's more engaging than I thought at first time! Thanks for making this amazing game!

That bit about starting the timer when the player moves is a really, really good idea. I'm planning to take this game further after the jam so I'll absolutely implement that then. Thank you! And thanks for giving it another shot!
