Nice! Well it's very hard, even if you know the controls after 200 deaths and sometimes, when you are on a wall, the jump height isn't really always how it should be. For example if I hold long the character sometimes jumps the actual height he should jump but sometimes a really short height (even short than if you tap spacebar)...
The game has a nice diversity, I didn't get far but already after the first narrow section a new mechanic is introduced (the platforms that switch when you jump)... maybe a bit early but thats ok i think.
After almost 20 floors that I cleared, I can say it's pretty fun, although the jumping up (as mentioned by Casper) is very annoying. I also can say that the performance drops a lot over time, maybe it's just my device. The Graphics match each other really well. Maybe there would be a way to implement the rising part of theme other than jumping
Not much, sadly. The type of "generation" I used is moving the objects that are out of screen to a random position infront of the player, in direction of its movement. With platforms a bit more logic is needed than that. For example not completely random but on a specific spacing and random on the x axis and and and...
The Graphics give a nice matching image, though the character looks a bit out of place.
Yes, the controls could have some fine tuning.
And as far es I can tell is this a pre-build world. You could raise the replay ability by generating it even if it seems like more work in the first place, it counters the building and testing.
Overall a nice game.
Refreshing Game! Wasn't expecting that mechanic. All the Textures really match each other, I had fun and I can clearly see the use of the Theme.
After some short moment of fiddling i knew how to cut the tree the right way.
The game has a very solid level count und with the nice doable difficulty it stretches the playtime.
The movement could have some fine tuning and I had some moments where i could not jump at all and needed to restart.
This game is pretty simple, I like the way how the animations are just squishing the objects.
Don't really know what an effect the "Spider want's to eat... but it's already winter!" aspect has other than some atmospheric snow. I mean there is no challenge with the eating other than avoiding the toxic flies...
I liked the game, solid graphics, easy controlls and a simple to understand.
But hard to master, the lack of feedback when the enemies will shoot (even when they shoot in periodic spaces) makes it almost unpredictable if you get/got hit, particularly when you are close to the player (you need to get close).
I think with a bit of feedback before the enemy shoots (be it a color change of the enemy or something), sounds and a way to maybe dodge the bullets now and then, this would be a great game with much potential to grow!
I am thinking of levels, more enemy types, maybe a story (of course not in the time of the Jam but maybe later)
