Was fun until it crashed when I got 10 000 points.. and nothing was saved on reload, so all progress lost.

Thank you for playing and giving feedback! 🥰
The scroll function worked fine in the editor but seems overly sensitive in the browser. I’ve added scroll sensitivity option to my to-do list, as I’m sure it varies across different computers as well.
Interesting about the upgrade points. I haven’t encountered this issue before. I’ll do some additional testing.
Nice idea with the buy-all button, I’ll keep that in mind.
I have it on my list to improve text readability. Did you experience this issue in full-screen mode as well?
There’s actually a feature that resets the ball after 20-30 seconds if it doesn’t hit a brick, respawning it near the paddle. I’m surprised that didn’t work for you.
The blue bricks are a test for special brick spawns with a low chance. They should grant an extra upgrade point when destroyed, but I noticed a bug after publishing where some normal bricks turn blue after being hit 😅
Too bad you don't have a web build but this is what game jams are for, to gain experience and to improve for future projects.
I've gone through the same things and learned pretty quickly that I should make my games accessible to most players. Instead of creating many different builds for Windows, Linux, Mac, etc and also deal with people (like myself) who don't like to download and run unknown software.. just make a web build so everyone can play and in the process save a lot of time and effort not having to deal with different builds and related bugs.
Good luck.
Fun puzzle game that reminded me a little of Pac Man.. the controls felt good and nice that you added in game tutorial, volume controls and level select menu.. The only thing I missed was a button to progress to next level, instead of having to click to level select menu, scroll, click...
Well done for such a short game jam 👍
Awesome retro style with nice animations and effects. The controls felt good and the game was fun. Only thing I missed was being able to restart the level with the keyboard that I'm using to play, so had to move hand to mouse, click, etc.. Not a big issue but would be a nice QoL change. Also kudos on adding in game tutorial 😊
Well done for such a short game jam 👍
You can go to the submissions page and click "Haven't rated" in the filter on the left side.
Thanks for a great game jam, the theme was challenging and fun.. I like that you didn't have too strict rules (like locking the uploads after submission ends) making this game jam chill and fun, even friendly to first time jammers 🥰
One suggestion I have is to change the music category to audio for upcoming game jams so that it includes all game audio, both music and sound effects. For example, in my puzzle game I chose not to include music because I didn't want to clutter the audio space as I felt the sound effects would be enough to give the player experience I was aiming for. It would have been nice to know what everyone thought about the game audio but if people judge only by music then my score in that category should be 0 and I have no easy way of knowing what the players thought about the sound effects.
Thanks.
Cool platformer game, I like the art and game play is fun even though it gets really difficult early on. Here are some thoughts I had when playing..
- The fall seems somewhat slow, which also makes falling to your death take a long time
- Using mouse click for dash when everything else is keyboard feels out of place
I finished a few levels then I got to level where it seemed impossible (at least to me) to finish the level as it required me to jump higher than spikes in my way, which I had no clue how to do. I'll post a pic on your forum post.
About the resolution, it's better to set the initial resolution to something like 1280x720 (check my game) instead of 1920x1080 or so and allow the players to maximize the game instead.
Anyways, good job for such short game jam 👍
Cool shooting game and mechanics. Like others have mentioned, one thing I would change is how the player moves, I think you could get a lot more precision if you were not moving the player with forces. At the same time I can understand why you went that route, it's a lot easier to use forces when pushing objects 😅
Well done for such a short game jam 👍
Cool game with some nice mechanics.
A suggestion if I may,.. when adding mouse movement control, always add a sensitivity option. In my case, I couldn't control the camera very well as it would spin way too fast and with the very limited time I had to finish each level, I felt a big portion was going towards just fixing the camera.
Well done for such short game jam 👍
