Love the style! Great start for a fun game.

One thing I missed was checkpoints along the way, in a visual way that is so I don't sit and think dang if I die I have to start over 😅

Well done for such short game jam 👍

Those were the last thing on the checklist if I remember correctly (that we didnt have time to implement)
Thanks for playing though! I also thoughroughly enjoyed your game :)

Cool game! I liked the chalk aesthetic and the music, I think it gave the game a unique vibe. I thought the levels were well-designed, although I did have some trouble using the grappling hook. Overall, great work!

Great game! I love the artstyle and the creative look of the game! I felt the controls weren't so consistent - sometimes after a grapple i'd get 2 jumps and sometimes 1, and when throwing the grapple hook it took time to land which wasn't really responsive but most of the time they functioned well. A really great challenge and an awesome platformer! I really enjoyed it!

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

That's an interesting one about the jump, I haven't seen that before, will take a look.

Played around with having the claw be hitscan or just faster, I ended up really liking the travel time with how it adds depth to the Speedrun, but it probably needs some sort of indicator telling you when it's gonna attach, especially if it's hitting something off screen

yeah me too

The theme is spot on and I abolutely love the style you went with, it was a bit hard to understand how the 3... 2.. 1. bubbles worked so that took a second but I got the hang of it. This one was difficult for sure but I enjoyed playing none the less! good job!

Developer

Thank you very much <3

Woah! The art style is so cool! The grappling feels very smooth too! This was very fun.

Submitted(+2)

I really like the art style. Whish the buttons at the end screen of each level would have that aswell. The grabble points having this 3 second countdown fits nicely into the theme. Well done!

Fun game with fun mechanics and unique art style! I enjoyed this one a lot :D

Submitted(+3)

I like this game! It’s simple yet fun, the movement is a tiny bit off, but the concept is really good! The art style and music/sfx match each other really well. The grapple mechanic is also pretty unique. Great job!

Thank you for playing <3

Well Done! The only thing I find annoying is the slippery controls.

loved how the art and sfx match, once you get in the flow the gameplay feels really good aswell.
Might benefit of being a little easier to pick up by new players to reduce barrier of entry

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

You're definitely right about the barrier to entry, I think we might develop a bit more and maybe shoot for spreading the difficulty curve out over five levels and use the first two levels to really ease players in, then end with the movement tech

I may as well be the worst at platformers after playing this one LOL

The game was fun and though I did fail... A lot! It was loads of fun and I throughly enjoyed it!

Nice game very good concept!!

Loved the chalk art.  Gameplay and mechanics were challenging to me. But fun game overall once you get the hang of it. Not entirely sure I have it down yet. But fun stuff.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Thank you for your feedback, youl get there, the blackboard never forgets... >_>

Submitted(+3)

I like the art style, the game is great, a litle bit hard form me ^^’ Well done!

Submitted(+3)

Amazing game! I love how swiftly the player moves, it perfectly fits the feel of the game. The gameplay is addictive, I kept trying to finish each level as fast as possible, and it took me numerous tries XD.

The chalky art style is genuinely appealing, but it would be even better if it were consistent with the player's design as well.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

That was a challenge of mine, because of the pixel size having a chalky man would look very squished and confined. Maybe one dy I will crack that code!

Submitted(+2)

We felt that the character was moving too fast, which felt a little out of place. We also think that the art does not look consistent, the whole environment is drawn in chalk, and the character is pixelated. If you fix these things, then it will be quite good for yourself!

Good job, good luck!

Appreciate the feedback, wasnt time to super polish it in the 3 days, but maybe in the future!

This was a brilliant game providing challenge and joy and pathos and gravitas and emotional duscombobullation.  I highly recommend it to all.

I like this graphic style and sound! It was hard sometimes but I finished it :)

Developer(+1)

Cheers! Shout-out to the phenomenal NexGenInsanity and Rafunzel for crafting a gorgeous aesthetic.

Sounds like the difficulty level hit well for you? I was aiming for a fairly challenging jam game, probably some pain points that we'll be ironing out over time.

Thanks for playing!

Some parts were a little annoying but not that terribly hard to make me leave :)

Developer (1 edit)

nice! Yeah been playtesting with a few different folks tryna identify those points, level 2 is a sharp difficulty spike, I feel like this difficulty curve but polished and spread out over five levels would be ideal

Developer

Thank you very much!
