I appreciate the feedback. I agree with each point and I did have an original plan to make this sort of like a weird tower defense where the hero is a 'wave' of sorts and it would give you time to place traps and things like that. I had to scale down my ideas to meet the deadline. I'll come back to this idea eventually.
So that is part of the point of the game. I didn't explain very well. You are supposed to be the Tutorial Boss and that to me says pretty limited functionality. You can't move only use weapons and eventually place tiles onto the board to try and trap the 'Hero' character. I had a whole story in mind but that was part of my over scoping and I didn't have time to implement the story beats that would give some more context to what you are doing.
