some awesome pixel art & well-designed levels, good job on getting it done on time.

Was lots of fun :)

broooo

that went hard, I managed to acheive VICTOR Y after about 15 minutes of playing (& some malding to keep me going)

music was a lil quiet & perhaps when the enemies charge you without regard they could have an indicator to warn the player.

Overall very polished; solid platforming, good game design & some solid pixel art, well done for getting it done on time :)

That means a lot thanks!

Awww, thanks :)

& I agree it would have helped to have an incentive for the combat section, & we were planning on implementing a cool down indicator, but ran out of time.

So glad to hear you enjoyed it!

The level with the ghost took me a while to figure out & confused me a little but after that initial learning curve  all the other levels were tricky but had their aha moments & weren't too tedious. Was very enjoyable over all.

Lmao, that's what you want to hear as a dev in level design.

That's a good idea actually to expand on the base game, we were thinking more along the lines of polishing up the combat & adding more chores at the start. But I agree I think it would then be cool to play as the orc for example & have a different gameplay loop to spice things up.

& wave 8 ain't bad hey. (I'm impressed you managed to count that high without losing track lol)

Thanks for the review & playing our game!

yes it definitely could use some more polish,  attack telegraphing is a good idea. I think next time we might focus more on getting the gameplay down now that we have a better understanding of unity, & I agree in that user feedback is imperative on getting it right.

Thanks for the review & playing the game!

That was a lot of fun after the little initial learning curve (I got a little hooked lol)

Oh, & a screenshot from my adventures:

Infinite waves? (we did the same lol; we ran out of time)

That was a lot of fun, even with the bug (also impressive you managed to get a workaround in time), I kept coming back to try & get more cards in my deck to verse the different heroes. I great level of variety was achieved with only a few changing variables; which is impressive.

The pixel art worked really well with the style as well. & I'm not sure if there was sound; mine wasn't playing?

Well done on getting it done in time.

That was very hard, at least initially; after taking the time to understand the game it became a lot more enjoyable. Very impressive for 48 hours. Also the music bops!

A perfect score from me!

That was very hard, atleast initially; after taking the time to understand the game it became a lot more enjoyable. Very impressive for 48 hours. Also the music bops!

I mean the pixel art is kinda fire 🔥 not gonna lie.

It's just a bummer we didn't get to implement the animations in time. (PS: thanks for your work lochee!!!)

was a lot of fun I managed to make it to the end with the astronaut, & then I realised I needed to make it with the orc as well😂. Which turns out to be a lil trickier. Good level design as well

Good job on getting it done on time 👍

lol

Farout, this game is hard.

but kinda fire🔥

Well done on getting it done within the jam time limit.

& good luck on your future projects; keep it up 👍

thanks a lot, we had a lot of fun developing the story & the Tate & Lochee smashed the artwork

Yes, I think it would be good practice to come back to it once the rating period is over to try & give it an update. Any ideas?

Cheers, it should be good to do some more work on it after the jam to develop it out a bit

thanks a lot 👍

Thanks for playing & the review! & we did plan on adding a score system but we ran out of time lol.

The idea with the combat was that you could attack the enemies with your melee attack just after thy attacked because they have a delay before they attack again; it is a little finicky though & we didn't have time to find tune it.

Thanks again 👍

very unique, simple & fun.

Well done for getting it done on time.

& a side note the voice line of the fisherman is very amusing

I got a highscore of 16 after a couple of tries, fun game & interesting take on the theme, very unique!

Thanks a lot for playing!!!  The size of the webgl player in the browser I think was a problem from when we first built it in unity (some of our other team members did the finishing touches); if you scroll out in your browser I found it fixed the issue. & yes the combat has infinite waves. I think...

Thanks for the review 👍

That was a lot of fun, was helped by the fact that the respawn time was instant & music was spot on.

Also, good replayability which is rare for a game jam game.

Good stuff on getting it done on time!

Also well done on getting it done on time with so many mechanics, great assets & music keep it up!

Like others have said it can be a bit finicky but fun for the most part. I also got stuck on a few levels not because I didn't know what to do but because the execution was very difficult & the timing was super tight.

Also, the tutorial was great at teaching me all the mechanics but a bit overwhelming. Is there a way that you could teach the player these things without all the talking I'm not sure. It was a good way to introduce the character & story it just felt a bit drawn out.

Yeah, we didn't end up having time to implement invincibility frames & the spikes were implemented last minute with some pretty big hitboxes that didn't exactly line up with the model. Thanks for playing anyhow!

bro this game is insanely hard. Fun but hard.

The music helps create a spooky atmosphere, although it gets a bit repetitive & rage inducing after a while.

The spider boss at the end is fun to fight & the list of different attacks kept it interesting. I just found that I struggled to damage it without taking damage myself, I don't no if I was missing a windup animation or not.

Also, the pixel art sprites & animations look really good.

Was the introduction of the limitation that it got harder every time you died?

Well done on getting a working product out on time!

yeah lol I found it fun to try & die s

till solid work to get it done for the jam & I found the physics of the objects going crazy around you was fun :)

thanks so much for playing & the review :)

& yes we had some trouble getting the controls working how we wanted & it's evident that there is definitely room for more improvement in that area. It's good to know someone took note of that as I made sure they fit nicely into the die holes for that exact reason.

yeah no problem, although I will admit when I read them initially I had no idea what was going on. It was only after playing it for a bit that I came back and read what was going on lol

How awesome and original, was not what I was expecting but in a good way. As others have said wasn't the greatest playing the same levels over & over but they were pretty well designed so that made it slightly more endurable at least for the first few try's. Well done overall & congrats on finishing it before the end of the jam :)

(1 edit)

you made me give it a second try after I died to give it a go with a bit more strategy, that says something. Well done on completing your game & making it feel so balanced as well :)

the timer is a great addition

loved the main menu and art style which made it feel extremely polished my only comment is that the controls for player 2 (blue dude) did not work on my keyboard (perhaps this is because I don't have a numpad). Cool concept though with a very creative implementation of the theme :)

Awesome take on the theme with creative gameplay that had a wonderful flow from kicking dice to a bullet hell. My only comment is that if you manage to kick the dice against other dice it becomes quite easy for a while; which might be able to be fixed by speeding up the difficulty curve maybe, idk. Well done though extremely polished :)

loved the music & title screen was great. The way you implemented the random weapon idea was clever, funny and worked really well. Well done :)

Loved the cute art style, and the music was good, just got a bit repetitive by the end. Well done :)
