Actually no, the number does not impact gameplay. Initially, we planned to have 6 ennemies with numbers on their shield, but we realized it was too much work and not visible enough, so we gave a color to each number.

There is plenty of game using this base mechanic, but the fact we can choose and buy the dice faces really make a difference on this entry. Good job on the art and music too !
Maybe i would have balanced the starting faces a bit more, making it easier at the beggining.
The only thing i would say is maybe the rythm is not quite there, waiting for all of the dice to rolls, knowing that some are rolling literraly for nothing at the beginning is a bit long to me, but i never played turned based game a lot so i might be biased !

haha actually our problem was more versioning and the fact we never builded a unity game before. But we're glad you liked it !

I couldn't make it through the whole game (stuck on opponent turn) but it was really nice to play.

Great entry ! It feels really good and it's hard enough to enjoy. Maybe it could have been better to have more effect when space is pressed but it's great.
It's also nice to have a small dynamic music system ! It make the difference to me.

Nice game, but a bit hard for a jam, and the fact we can't shoot in all direction is quite frustrating.
I don't really see the point with this year theme though

I feel like the gameplay is really deep and interresting, but unfortunately is way too complex and not intuitive to enjoy.
Still a nice submission !

I loved the atmosphere on this one ! For a solo entry this is quite impressive, but i feel like the help of 3D artist and sound/music designers could only bring more light on your concept.
I loved the 2D art too, you really took advantage of simples shapes and hand drawing to create something interesting.

Thanks a lot for your feedbakc. We tried to implement occlusion culling to help the game run on old systems, but it seems like it's doing more harm than good. You can try the previous build, there are less messy !

Oh and i forgot : sometimes, barking seems to "reset" the background music.

Reaaly good work, especially from your 3D artists ! The game is fun to explore, and the physics, even if it's a bit random and unpredictible is appreciated for an entry in a game jam :)

Some feedback though : The "bark" sound is too loud and quite agressive.

It's nice to handle and it's responsive. I do agree with the other comment that the mage is far superior to the knight. But as always, balancing is always a really hard task in a game jam !

Thanks a lot ! You're not bad at this game, it's just that we didn't had enough time to make a proper balance before submitting it. Unfortunately, the checkpoint system wouldn't work in this kind of game since it would make the sacrifices useless. This being said, we are planning to upgrade the IA of the follower to make it a bit less frustrating. We are really happy to see that you loved it.
