hey thanks for taking a look at this for us, I will get around to your game either today or tomorrow :)

Hi!

We’re excited to announce the release of the Roadlike demo! After months of hard work and a showcase at Gamescom, we can’t wait for you to experience our blend of classic arcade racing and roguelike strategy.

What's in the Demo?

In Roadlike, the objective is to reach the end of the map without running out of petrol (ie time). You can fill up your petrol tank and buy upgrades at garages along the way!

  • Procedurally Generated Tracks - No two races are the same.
  • Diverse Biomes - Explore cityscapes, meadows, and more.
  • Customizable Upgrades - Collect coins and do tricks to enhance your car.
  • Strategic Route Choices - Choose your path and shape your race.

The demo can be played singleplayer or with up to four people splitscreen if you have the controllers for it!

We Need Your Feedback!

Your feedback is crucial as we continue to develop Roadlike. Please try the demo and share your thoughts!

  • Press F1 in-game to open the feedback form.
  • Feel free to get in touch with us on Itch!

Known Issues

  • Some visual glitches
  • Occasional frame rate drops
  • Traffic spawning issues
  • Mesh generation problems in some levels

We’re working on these and appreciate your patience!

What’s Next?

We’re focusing on bug fixes, new content, and gameplay balancing. Stay tuned for updates!

Thank you for your support, and happy racing! You can find the demo here.

This is a top class entry. Taking the absolute best notions from Wario Land 3 and then a little bit of Kirby aesthetic. I liked the reference to the basketball boss in WL2 at the end! Soundtrack is perfect.

Thanks for playing!

Alas, there is no end to the monotony of intergalactic capitalism.

You must have missed this on our game page :)

if you're one of the people affected by this I'd recommend doing the puzzles as below- it's not going to stop you from playing the game as i intended :)

hey thanks! There's a strange webGL issue where that collider just doesn't work in some browsers :(

For the second bug, I think it's running out of stage time at the same time as reaching the door - it's not well telegraphed at the moment.

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback.

This was fun! I made it to around 50. One thing I'd advise doing is put your controls in the game description page, people may be overzealous and skip through a description at the start.

I love the aesthetics of the game - seamlessly putting into the background of the page was a really neat idea, and it's clean and simple for a jam while still popping very well.

Overall having the extra dynamic of having to dodge your own attacks is really cool - it reminded me of one of the winners a few years back, I think it was called two-timing towers.

congrats!

Literally turning bugs into features <3

This is in fact better than radish boy 1.

I know you probably wanted to do more with this but congrats on getting this together regardless :) there's the bones of something here.

The music in this is just perfect. Give your 3D artist a pat on the back for getting so many assets done in time and for the amazing toon shader - rare to get a 3D game looking this good in 48 hours.

Might be something to do with my Mac's weird 16:10 aspect ratio! Worked well in the end regardless

This was fun and the art was cute. I think it could just be a little bit more forgiving at times!

A good proof of concept on the difficulties of late-stage capatalism for fantasy shopowners, who often go overlooked in debates on the topic.

I absolutely loved this. It's such a simple concept but you get so much out of it. I really dug the mode 7 esque transition between levels and color pallette. Great stuff.

This concept is fun. It would be interesting to see it done with a different character controller! 2D physics in unity is fiddly.

That being said, I strongly related to the movement of this character and how it interacts with the world more generally.

I've always disliked fruit and this game allowed me to live my darkest fantasies.

FYI - if you're like me and the WebGL window is too small fullscreen it and it's perfect :)

WebGL is just the worst :(

unfortunately the collider on the spike block is one of those things that worked fine in editor but then webgl :( Thankfully, if you ignore that and don't skip through the level you can still play the game entirely as intended :)

I had a lot of fun with this. When I was introduced to the mechanics at first I was wondering how they would be layered on top of one another for puzzles but it really started to come into its own by level 5 and by the end it was a blast.

Is that the beloved poorly animated skeleton trumpet sound effect I hear for the air horn?

Stray thoughts:

a mac mode that's amost the same except the character has a beanie and a beard.

a linux mode that's almost the same except it occasionally glitches for no reason (hard mode maybe)

unfortunately one of those things that worked fine in editor but then webgl :( . Fortunately it doesnt stop the game from being payed as intended. thanks for playing.

Scraping the jam submissions is absolute genius

I know you probably wanted to add more to this but you still managed to achieve a very charming piece with some lovely 3D art.

I can't believe you fitted so much content into 48 hours

Fun to see the roguelike survival + tower defense come together

great scope for a jam

webgl kicking us in the balls on those colliders :(

I absolutely love puzzle games like this, I could literally play 100 of these levels. Loving the pixelated pencil sketch art!

I don't think I've ever played an adventure game in a jam before. They're so reliant on charm and humour. But this pulls both of those off with a great visual style to boot.

This game is the jam's version of football in the groin for me.

Mainly due to the sound effects.

This competition is over already.

Man i collected a load of pyramid things it was class.

However, I think playing as Freddy will have long term ramifications for society.

Yeah unfortunately that was something that works great in the Unity Editor but then kicked us in the balls when we uploaded to WebGL :(. Thankfully you can still play the whole way through as intended :)

This turned out to be a weird WebGL problem :( had it all fixed in Unity. It doesn't stop people from playing the game as intended thankfully :)
