Thanks for the playing my game and giving feedback! My goal with the cannon was to make it so that the player would eventually be forced into a last stand in third person combat, but I agree that it feels a bit slow and leads to the player feeling overwhelmed by ships quickly. A targeting mechanic would definitely make the third person combat feel more precise and snappy.

Thanks for the feedback! I was going back and forth on either a day or night setting, and ultimately decided the night setting worked better for the game. That is interesting that you felt more comfortable with the third person combat. I would like to have added a target mechanic that would make swinging at enemies a hit easier, but glad you enjoyed it! The treasure idea is fantastic! As is the score is just based on how long the player survives but I think a more specific objective like you mentioned would be needed if this project was expanded on.

Thanks for playing my game! My main focus was on making the cannon feel good, I think that the third person controls and combat could use a bit of work. Thank you for the feedback!

Thanks for trying out my game! The character animations are a bit off. I think I need to speed up the attack animation and add a targeting camera that tracks the current enemy. As is, the player just swings and it isnt tracking a specific enemy. Thanks for the feedback!

Fun game! Did you do the pixel art yourself?

I love this game! I love puzzle games with simple controls and quick levels that you can breeze through. I could definitely see myself playing dozens of levels like these back-to-back in one sitting. I do wish it was longer. Also, great job on the pixel art!

This is a well-polished and interesting project! I love that you based your project on historical events. It has a very clean look, and the controls are easy to learn. Good job!

Thanks for the suggestions! I think a gradual ramp up in enemies and difficulty would really help the game feel more balanced and fair to the player.

I really love the visuals, especially the background. The jumping feels responsive. I did have a quick question,is the supposed to turn to the left every time I jump? I was just wondering if that was by design and if I was missing something. Overall good job though! I had a lot of fun playing it!

The gun feedback is very satisfying! And I love the recharge visuals for when you run out of ammo. A fun game overall. Nice job!

Thank you for trying it out! Glad you liked it!

Thank you for playing it! It definitely can get difficult as time goes on and more ships approach. I feel like some improvements to the combat such as a targeting camera could make it feel less daunting. I tried limiting how many foot pirates could be on the island at one time to 5 to try and ease the difficulty.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah the animations for the sword combat are a bit off. Something I would like to have worked on more.

Thank you! Yeah the cannon rotating sfx was a last minute addition, I thought it would really add to the feel of the cannon!

Hey, you made a pirate game too! The combat was really fun, the first time I shot I thought I would be shooting forward but no, this is a pirate ship! The game got progressively more challenging, and I always felt like I had a chance to continue going right until the last second. The sfx and music really added to the experience as well. Great job.

Congratulations on your completing your project! I really like the premise and how you fit your game into the theme of "Last Stand". The jumping felt nice, although the movement felt a bit slow. I was definitely rushing back to deliver my last haul of materials. I really like how you included platforms that you can walk in front of or jump on, depending on where you are coming from. Overall, well done!

This is a really unique and fun project! For some reason, I occasionally ran into situations where I couldn't jump, but falling to al lower platform solved the issue. I enjoyed the simple left and right mouse movement to control the character. That last purple level is definitely a challenge. Congrats on your submission!

Congrats on the submission! The jumping and camera bob in your endless runner feels really good. I also thought the fog effect made it more tense as you had to make quick decisions on when to jump. I think if you expanded on this project in the future, it would be fun to gradually present the player with some more obstacles/hazards to avoid overtime.

Thank you! Looking forward to trying out your game!

Thanks for playing, im glad you liked it! The tileset I used for the beach is from opengameart.org. You can find it here Sidescroller: Beach Tileset | OpenGameArt.org

Thank you! Yeah I may need to reconsider the controls if I revisit this project in the future. Thank you for trying my game!

Thanks for trying it out, and i’m glad you played it to completion! One thing I wish I had included was a checkpoint system. It would make it much easier for players to see it through to the end. The bird AI could definitely use some more work, it’s something i’d like to address if I revisit this project in the future. The basic goal of the Bird AI for me was to have it serve as an obstacle for players, and players would need to use the bread to “trick” them into landing into preferable spots.

I like this game! It was fun trying to get both characters to the end with separate obstacles blocking their way. Nice job!

Your game looks very pretty. Nice job!

Fun game! The characters movement felt nice and the player was easy to control. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for trying my game out! Its not cheating by the way, I was hoping players would eventually figure that out! Looking back, I wish I would have added a checkpoint system so players could continue further along into the level if they had to restart. Thanks again.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed just walking around the overworld just taking in the pixel art scenery. And the central gameplay mechanic is a very unique concept. I love how peaceful and relaxing it is. The music is very comforting. Nice job.

Congrats on submitting your project! This game is fun, I definitely spent a couple minutes on a few levels trying to time my jumps perfectly. Well done.

Congrats on your game! The concept is very unique and interesting, it feels kind of like a mashup of 2d platformer and strategy. A bit difficult to get a grasp on at first, but pretty fun!

Congratulations on your submission! Creepy!

Congratulations on submitting your game! The music is relaxing, and the controls are simple to learn.

Thank you! I apologize for the difficulty. Quick tip, you can actually jump onto the bread that you throw! At that part, I usually toss the bread to bait the bird. Then, I land on the bread and jump off of it onto the nearby shell. Thank you again for trying my game, I really appreciate it!
