Thanks for the playing my game and giving feedback! My goal with the cannon was to make it so that the player would eventually be forced into a last stand in third person combat, but I agree that it feels a bit slow and leads to the player feeling overwhelmed by ships quickly. A targeting mechanic would definitely make the third person combat feel more precise and snappy.

Thanks for the feedback! I was going back and forth on either a day or night setting, and ultimately decided the night setting worked better for the game. That is interesting that you felt more comfortable with the third person combat. I would like to have added a target mechanic that would make swinging at enemies a hit easier, but glad you enjoyed it! The treasure idea is fantastic! As is the score is just based on how long the player survives but I think a more specific objective like you mentioned would be needed if this project was expanded on.
Thank you for playing it! It definitely can get difficult as time goes on and more ships approach. I feel like some improvements to the combat such as a targeting camera could make it feel less daunting. I tried limiting how many foot pirates could be on the island at one time to 5 to try and ease the difficulty.
Hey, you made a pirate game too! The combat was really fun, the first time I shot I thought I would be shooting forward but no, this is a pirate ship! The game got progressively more challenging, and I always felt like I had a chance to continue going right until the last second. The sfx and music really added to the experience as well. Great job.
Congratulations on your completing your project! I really like the premise and how you fit your game into the theme of "Last Stand". The jumping felt nice, although the movement felt a bit slow. I was definitely rushing back to deliver my last haul of materials. I really like how you included platforms that you can walk in front of or jump on, depending on where you are coming from. Overall, well done!
This is a really unique and fun project! For some reason, I occasionally ran into situations where I couldn't jump, but falling to al lower platform solved the issue. I enjoyed the simple left and right mouse movement to control the character. That last purple level is definitely a challenge. Congrats on your submission!
Congrats on the submission! The jumping and camera bob in your endless runner feels really good. I also thought the fog effect made it more tense as you had to make quick decisions on when to jump. I think if you expanded on this project in the future, it would be fun to gradually present the player with some more obstacles/hazards to avoid overtime.
Thanks for playing, im glad you liked it! The tileset I used for the beach is from opengameart.org. You can find it here Sidescroller: Beach Tileset | OpenGameArt.org
Thanks for trying it out, and i’m glad you played it to completion! One thing I wish I had included was a checkpoint system. It would make it much easier for players to see it through to the end. The bird AI could definitely use some more work, it’s something i’d like to address if I revisit this project in the future. The basic goal of the Bird AI for me was to have it serve as an obstacle for players, and players would need to use the bread to “trick” them into landing into preferable spots.
