Great game.

I really love the visuals, especially the background. The jumping feels responsive. I did have a quick question,is the supposed to turn to the left every time I jump? I was just wondering if that was by design and if I was missing something. Overall good job though! I had a lot of fun playing it!

Submitted

haha good job. That's one dangerous delivery route! But I got there in the end, and when I jumped off the last platform I was catapulted into the sky in victory!

I liked the aesthetics and especially the parallax scrolling. Music was nice too.

You could expand this game by having the drones try to stop you but you attack them by spraying them with ketchup and mustard :D

Great work.

Fun platformer, great job! My only nitpick is I would really like WASD control options, as using the arrows is super awkward on my laptop.

Ok you have the makings of a game here! There were a couple of challenges with this - I dont think there is a full screen option, but it would be great if there was one? I somehow got the impression that I would be able to see and read more in full screen and the game didn't seem to entirely fit in the space its in in the browser. I'm not sure if that s a resolution sizing thing that you can fix in itch game page quickly, or if its how the camera is setup in the game. Definitely tweak that if you can. Then the other consideration is not having to start all over again if you die, however I appreciate you are sticking to the theme of 'last stand' - I got pretty far in my 3rd run but then I missed and jump and it was game over. These comments aside, I really loved the art, the setting, the parallaxing backgrounds, and the music. I think you did a great job in creating a cool futuristic world for a burger stand! Controls were smoothe and I enjoyed the platforming design and obstacles you used. Well done on the submission and good work.

Thank you so much, Miniature Giants. Yes, the screen issue is a problem. I realized halfway through the design that I did not set up my assets for full screen. If You switch to full screen the parallax and background breaks... I will make sure to get that in place next time.

That's a good point about the deaths. Maybe a life system would be better? It definitely fits the last stand theme, but you make a good point.

Thanks for your comments! It really helps to hear both your likes and dislikes.

liked the music and vibes of the game... well done publishing the game!

Developer

Thank you so much! I appreciate it. Thanks for playing, Kanonz!

Congrats on the awesome burger design, really good pixel art there! Would definitely zoom out a little so I can see more: the first time through I didn't see the moving buzzsaws!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, Melon Fresh Games! That's a great idea! I will keep that in mind.

Always love a good platformer. And actually refreshing to see one in this jam. At least from what I've played so far

Developer(+1)

It's interesting you say that, I have only encountered one platformer in this jam so far (I think it was called "The Last Lampstand" or something like that. Really fun and cute (but hard).  I got inspired last year with so many cool ones I thought I would try it out. Hopefully, I'll find another cool one.

Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for playing!

I had fun playing this! It's short and sweet, and the music and sounds really complement the cyberpunk theme. One thing though; I ran into a small issue with the background image not scaling while in fullscreen mode. Besides that, I enjoyed the game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, StarlightLacuna! That's definitely a big problem with this one. I will keep that in mind for next time. I appreciate it.

Nice theme and vibe! Fun little platformer although pretty difficult and it would be great if the game window was bigger or the scaling a bit different. I liked the feeling of playing the game!

Developer

Thanks, brampster! You're right, a larger scale would be much better. I will keep that in mind for next time.

What do you think about the difficulty? Is it too difficult or just right? I wasn't sure when I was tuning it.

Submitted

Yes, I can understand getting the difficulty tuned right was a challenge.
But I tried it again and I would say you got it right for my taste! When I got the air controls and timings learned, like with all platformers, it wasn't too difficult.

Submitted

Fun little game! Are you sure it wasn't a cyborg with four rotor blades? Those drones are bigger than Stan, haha.

Developer

Thanks! Good point, lol. They are pretty huge. I guess I liked how it made you feel like you had to get over insurmountable odds, but they probably are a little too big.

Submitted

Cute platformer!  On the "you win!" screen, the fingers under the tray are going to give me nightmares!

Developer

Lol! Yep. That pic could be a horror game in and of itself. Maybe for next year's jam...

Submitted

Haha your story for the theme was very similar to mine 🙃

You should consider checking the box with "enable fullscreen" on itch.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Cool! I'll check your game out. I've seen a couple food stand themes, so that is fun. ;-)

Yeah, I realized halfway through building the game that I didn't build it to scale with screen resolution and ran out of time. If you were to resize it, it would look really funky. I'll have to remember that for the next game though... (slaps forehead)

Thanks for the feedback!

Developer(+1)

I just played your game! I do love how we both used AI-generated art in somewhat AI doomsday games, lol!

Submitted

Nice theme! I would like to see when I die drone take over my order and deliver to the customer :D

Developer

That is such an awesome idea! Thanks!

Visually I think its a bit chaotic with the different pixel sizes and drawing styles, but I liked the control andthe dificulty was correct for me.

Developer(+1)

Good point about the drawing styles and pixel sizes. I will keep that in mind for next time. Thanks for the feedback.

And glad to hear the difficulty was correct for you. I wasn't sure about that, so it is nice to hear.

Nice!

Pixel platformer with cyberpunk burger theme.

Alone this made me start the game :-)

Nice implementation!

Developer

lol! Glad to hear it.

Thanks!

Pretty fun. I couldn't beat it, after many death attempts. I think I am just really bad at platformer style games. Thank you for giving quality air control. That definitely went a long way. I enjoyed the burger, great job.

Developer

Thanks! It took me awhile to beat it myself. Fine tuning that difficulty for platformers was tough for me. I'm not sure if I got it dialed in or not, but it was fun to tinker with, and I learned a lot.

Thanks for your feedback!
