i was wondering if i could recover from 2 days wasted but the design of Gdevelop is quite simple & effective , although the content of the game will take time i believe that i could with a genius idea win the jam & get da money finally without needing a gun

Last Night i Wasn't Feeling Tired at All , But oh Boy When The Evening Hit Today i Felt So Tired Like it Shocked me Instantly
I Drank a lot of coffee Hoping to Stay Awake For Today's Morning & it Worked Pretty Well, But I Have Putin Myself into a Position of an Unhealthy Non Existing Sleep, So What I Would Recommend Anyone is That They Need To Relax At Around 10:00 pm Just Put Down EVERYTHING & Have a Deep Relaxing Moment (Don't Try To Force Yourself to Sleep Btw) & You Will Get The Comfort of Sleeping Like a Normal Human Being
Hope That Helps.
So this is my 2nd game jam (kinda) i didn't really make a game i just , well give up half way because it was too stressful , the fact that you wanna make something but your skills are just , terrible... it's quite disappointing especially if you're just starting out but every developer starts with no skill at all , it mite be too overwhelming for some people
but the more you get used to game dev the more easier it gets , yeah some people go Through different challenges , but the more you do it the easier it gets just like working out , so stay motivated because everyone will make it you just need to put on the time & effort it takes to make some sick stuff that you would be proud of
so stay motivated Dev-res👍
My man , i think l'm in the same boat as you
I love jams , they get you out of the comfort zone , but i think it's to late to make a game now
i can make a Mediocre Game rn but , it's not what i was expecting when i joined the jam , i thought it's ganna be " making a game in 3 days & coming up with a creative idea " , but my issue was that i had a scope way beyond my skills , i have never done a game jam before , i understand about 4% of the engine i use and making a master piece isn't possible at all....
GMTK Jam is coming & next time , l'm not making the same mistake , see you in there , friend😃
it's Cool, 1 issue tho for some resone some buttons don't appear at all in the menu screen to continue.
also the levels are just make you kinda think " why are there so many hallways that have no purpose" + the camera is just way too zoomed in to see the enemies before they shoot you
The theme of the game is "pick a side" & tbh it would be even more of a creative idea if you mange to add the theme into the game
if you fix all of these problems i think your game would have a great chance of wining.
You know , you're not wrong
I don't have to win , game jams aren't about wining , they're about making a game! + they give you rules to make it more exciting & challenging , l'm the one who's actually making me hate my own game , i think of it as the "perfect" game with amazing visuals & gameplay
but a game doesn't have to be prefect , it just needs to be fun.
yknow what , l'm going to challenge myself and make a game , Thanks.
l'm Quiting , not beacuse i want to but Because i can't do this, it's just isn't fun anymore for me
" making a game as fast as possible without understanding half of what you're doing " doesn't feel presonally fun , l'm not saying don't do game jams it's just that i presonally don't find them exciting or fun , to me they just make you frustrated & pressured to do something you love or you don't "Win"
Hope someone can learn from my mistake
Evok my Friend , That's the thing with being new
it takes you a lot of time to do simple things because you have no experience with GameDev , but i can help you with one thing i know
is to just make a simple game with the skills you have , that's it! doesn't matter how bad it is , every game developer was once at your place knowing nothing about GameDev
Skill takes time....
you should not let your expectations/scope exceed your skills , or you would just give up instead of having fun , you would end up treating your GameDev like it's your job.....
Hope i helped.
Well funny thing is that l'm in the same boat as you😂
Your questions are definitely valid, but i personally think the ideal platform would be windows, but there is some platforms itch io supports, it would be a great idea if you can make your game playable on many platforms just incase
also you don't HAVE TO upload a build, i think webGL should be good enough for a simple game
also it mite decrease your chances of wining a little bit if your game only supports windows, but you should focus on making the game fun & creative with Awesome Gameplay, Design, and music that with the theme and the "Geometricness" of the jam that fits your scope.
