I really like the concept of this, the way it tells its story is simple and so effective. I would love see a longer project in a similar format, but at the same time it stands on its own as a short, emotional journey. Well done.

Nicely done on your first game! I personally didn't mind the difficulty as once you start grinding notice yourself getting stronger after death it feels much more balanced. It was a nice moment of realization when I noticed my attacks doing more damage. I enjoyed the story set up and twist too.

Game has got some nice potential, I think it just needs is more content. Things like other spells maybe? I also enjoyed the boss fight, although maybe some other attack patterns would make it feel more challenging.

Overall, great work, I enjoyed playing.

The sprites are really nice, game feels pretty polished and mechanics are fun.

I liked memorizing the spell combos, and it felt good to unlock new spells. I think the game could benefit a lot from a few more SFX. Things like a different sound for entering a direction, completing the spell, and failing for some instant feedback would make the spell input more satisfying, since it's the main way to interact with the game.

Also a few bugs I found were the poison shield and frost coat seemed to stop taking input in the middle of the combo? As well as gamer difficulty didn't seem to be able to trigger the direction UI anymore, but dunno if it's just on my end.

Overall, I enjoyed my time playing this. Great work!

Lol I did go buy OlliOlli to take inspiration when someone pointed out how similar they were.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! It is possible to exit a grind by letting go of the arrow key, unless this is a new bug. And we're definitely going to be developing some new content for it.
Thank you for the feedback!

Heck yeah. I'm happy to see someone went for a potion game.

The music slaps. A lot of potion games go for a chill vibe, but really like that this makes me feel like a deranged wizard making the strongest potions.

Good work with art, I liked that there was a sprite for every potion combination I came across.

The game does run out of things to do once you figure it out, there were some unfinished features already mentioned like the potion book which would benefit the game play. But the concept works and it makes me want more!

Nice work to all of you.

Star is a good cat, takes a pet like no problem.

The sprite art looks great and works really well in the 3D environment. The music and ambience create a nice vibe and the voice acting adds to the immersion and story-telling feel.

The game plays nicely and the design around accessibility was done well. Star would sometimes get in the way of things but this is pretty normal cat behaviour, and it doesn't happen when they're guiding you anyway. Shooting with the wand could perhaps be made to feel more responsive by having the projectile shoot instantly and less wind up.

Other than that, everything was quick to pick up and felt good to play. Overall, it was a nice experience, great work to all of you.

Thank you, glad you liked it! I absolutely do want to rework the tutorial so that it clicks easier for people. I'm happy to hear that it was fun once it made sense. Cheers for playing!

Thank you for the feedback!
I'd definitely like to make the spell selection less vague, I do like the idea of it triggering as soon as the board is filled. And a way to better communicate how the colors determine the spells you get is something I want to look into.
Glad to hear it was fun to play, thank you for playing!

Thank you!
Yeah giving players more time to use and understand each mechanic as it's introduced would be good. The tutorial definitely needs a rework and isn't as clear as I want it to be.
I'm happy to hear you  enjoyed it regardless, thank you for playing!

I'm glad you liked it, thank you!
Definitely agree the tutorial needs to be fleshed out more. There is a lot to communicate especially with the trick system which isn't super clear right now. The tricks I realize could also be more lenient with timing so people aren't falling over so much!

Cheers for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

Good idea for gameplay, getting combos is really satisfying, but really hard to pull off at the start. Music and visuals are nice. Having bigger platforms at the start would be a way to ease the player in.

Really solid game! Bit hard to start with the difficulty but the mechanics are good. The bounce mechanic for the attack is a fun premise. I also enjoyed time being used everywhere from from currency, health and loot. I did find starting in the middle of the rooms surrounded by enemies a bit rough to start.

The aesthetics are really well done too, sets a really nice tone. Monster designs were fun and there was a good variety of them with their own differing mechanics. Would have been cool to see the opening cut scene working though.

Overall, pretty impressed with how much you've done in the time you had. Congrats on the game!

Wait actually, that seems to have worked! Thank you so much!!
