A very cool game. I love the idea of playing alongside the farmer and weather, whose cards you can't control. It would have been nice to have some more visual feedback on the cactus about the number of flowers, similar to the growth.
Nice work!
Surprisingly addictive game. It feels a bit unfair when a chicken is laid right next to the edge and immediately leaves with little chance to collect it but otherwise it is a nice balancing act with the resources. The mechanic of accidentally breaking an egg also adds a bit more difficulty and works well. Good job :D
Really cool game, very chill. I like the minimalist controls and the scoreboard at the end is an excellent addition.
If I had to give one negative, I would say that it didn't feel entirely like a puzzle game as there was a decent amount of skill involved with the timings and it didn't feel entirely like a skill-based game because of the puzzle elements. I would recommend trying to lean into just one of these aspects a bit more (if you plan to continue working on this game).
A very good game!

Hi, thanks for the awesome feedback! :D
The traps are actually supposed to be where you place them. Unfortunately, I didn't do a good job of coding that bit and so they always appear where you put them the first time you played.
I'll aim to improve the variety of traps and levels, as well as improving the player controller and fixing bugs.
The visuals and audio are really good. The concept is also creative. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the gameplay as I found it got very repetitive very quickly. The tutorial was also not very clear: it isn't clear when the tutorial ends, that you could go back to the statue room, or what the black candle is for (without reading the description). It also took me a bit of time to work out how to use the cauldron, as it is the only thing that isn't simply clicked.
The graphics are really solid though :)
First of all, it's awesome to see a game that has a Linux build! Thank you so much for that.
The game is really fun already. The idea might not be overly original but it is very well executed. It's very satisfying to lead the snake (or basilisk) down a dead-end and then hop into a tunnel. However, I think there are a few small, easy to implement, changes that could make it even better:
- The controls can be really unforgiving. I would recommend adding something similar to coyote-time but for the direction changes.
- The apples are super OP. They make all the levels way too easy. You might want to think about limiting the number of apples to 1 per level, or limiting them in some other way.
- Being able to reset the level without dying would also be nice. Similarly, a way to return to the main menu without completing all the levels.
- Finally, the difficulties of the levels were very up and down. Perhaps you could reorder them so that the difficulty is a steady increase.
Overall a really solid game. Hope my feedback helps! :D
I mean, I would agree with most of what Anav said. Especially regarding the repeating music, I would really recommend not resetting it when the player dies. However, I think the length of the levels is good, especially given how difficult the game is; shorter levels are a lot less frustrating. Hopefully, that helps :)
Hey, thanks for adding to the game. Unfortunately, I think you've credited me for day 2 when it looks like you've actually used the day 2 version that ceprotypes made. Also, don't forget to add the project files so someone else can continue working on it.
For ease, here are the links to my and ceprotypes' versions:
