i also forgot to mention in the original post that i was a huge fan of the coyote time you added! its an easy thing to overlook, both from a player's point of view, as well as the developer's. so i wanted to make sure i thanked you for that nice quality of life addition

this was amazing! the movement is fun and responsive, the story is interesting and somewhat incorporates the theme (its more of just "the past" i dont really see the remnants part) it was even good enough to get me to spend a few extra minutes trying to get a good speedrun

i only found one bug while playing, and it was that after dying i could still pause the game while the screen was fading to black and quit to the menu. this would cause the game to crash

im happy you think the concept was cool! this was the first game jam ive ever participated in and i learned a lot through the process

i want to believe the scope was actually doable within the time limit, and that i just didnt correctly utilize the time i had (90% of the coding was done within the last 20 hours)
i think part of my issue was perfectionism in trying to refine unimportant aspects (i spent 5 hours just modeling evil, for example) and another was the speed at which i work. never being under a time constraint before meant that i didnt really realize just how unoptimized and slow my workflow was

regarding the physics issue, i dont believe its possible to beat the level even without physics, as you cant jump up the height of a box which means you would need a straight bridge across and there just isnt enough boxes for that. i did consider locking rotation on the boxes which would make it possible, assuming you could jump high enough, but that would end up looking very strange if you happened to stack boxes by just barely having their edges overlap
if you have any ideas as to how i can improve this interaction im open to hearing about them, as im still going to be working on and improving the game post-jam

after this revelation i got it first try, and being able to play correctly made it much more enjoyable! lol who woulda thunk!

my only issue is the performance and audio, i even downloaded it because browser games usually run poorly but it wasnt much better. in fact the only thing it fixed was the left-right with the audio when moving (still had weird glitchyness though)

i have also realized the clock marks each cycle on which evil can potentially move, and the pings by neuro vanish 2 cycles after being placed

...on looking at a screenshot i have realized this is because the "ABCDE" part of the buttons on the left was cut off on itch's mini game window... i switched to fullscreen and am now playing correctly

im not sure if im just stupid or if the game is to blame

the description says neuro will tell me if evil is in a room, but there was no neuro giving me any such information. the clock didnt seem to have a use either, and clicking the numbers on the left didnt do anything. this turned navigating away from evil into a game of chance and i eventually just gave up because it seemed impossible to make any progress

on top of that, the music kept switching from left to right and sounded glitchy every time i moved. this could be due to my computer's performance (game was running at about 5 fps) but regardless, it was not fun

there wasnt too much of a challenge but i enjoyed my time with it

i dont have much to say other than it was all around a pretty good experience

obviously its very unfinished and not much of a game, so theres not a lot to say about it
but what i will say is that the camera control is very clunky. plus, not having keybinds for the skills means you need to constantly be switching back and forth between moving the camera, the characters, and playing skills, which is a lot

it also would have been nice to see a loading screen after clicking 'new game' because it took my computer several seconds to load the map and i was very close to closing the game since i thought it crashed

that being said, i think it would be cool if expanded on 👍

what have i just experienced...

the only major bug i found was that sometimes my turtles just wouldnt do physical damage during the fight. it seemed random to me, and it lasted for the whole fight

also no neuro turtle easter egg for vedanny+vedal is criminal

yeah.. im not sure its possible. i put the controls on the game's page, but accidentally left out the most important one. there is a keybind (shift on keyboard, or left bumper on controller) that makes some boxes appear in the level, and then you are supposed to use the drone to move the boxes and stack them high enough to get over the ledge

the issue is that controlling the drone isnt very easy, and since you cant even jump up the height of a single box you would need a straight bridge across and there isnt enough boxes for that

i basically just spent too much time on unnecessary things which left the gameplay very lacking
