Totally get it. I think many people get tripped up by that section and, based on the reality of the situation, I think that is valid and is where a lot of people would get tripped up in real life too.

The key to that section is to really examine what you're agreeing to. You haven't just agreed to stay friends with Ash and there are other ways this is being described that may clue you in to the kind of experience that will be and why that really isn't the solution or the best way to look at it.

That said, note taken and should we choose to expand on this at some point, we'll incorporate this feedback as well as tone down some of the others. Thank you again for playing and the notes! Super helpful!

Yeah! I'm sorry it took so long! That particular friend has a much busier schedule than I do, so we just had to find time. I figured that was the inspiration so it seemed like it would be a good fit! Glad we got to check it out! Great job!

Okay! Whew! Got a friend who plays Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes with me and we were able to try it!

Love the concept and I'm really impressed by how quickly you were able to put this together. This is definitely the kind of thing I think you could expand into full release. The map was well designed and was a cool mechanic, similar to the book in Keep Talking and the way you utilized the theme was really cool too!

We didn't get the right answer every time so there was a bit of confusion there, but eventually we were able to progress and got the hang of it.

Nice work! Pretty addictive shooter and some great enemy searching/following for the time span you had.

The first time I made it to the boss but got killed a few seconds in. The second time I got all the way through.

Very cute! I liked the concept of each pet coming from behind the door. The knocking and then the animation was also really cute!

It took me a bit to get that "messy/clean" was a category and not just based on their behavior. But once I got that, it was cool. I did run into a few bugs and it seems like people have already mentioned them, so I won't spend time on that.

The music selection was a good choice. Very calming!

Nice work! The gameplay feels solid and the sound placement was really nice! (I used headphones.)

Having the doors hide the contents of the room is a great use of the theme and I could feel the tension ramping up throughout my playing from the constant life drain - cool mechanic! I think I actually got pretty far before a zombie snuck up on me and chewed up the rest of my health.

I love this concept and you executed it really well. I'm very curious about the way that the bidding is set up. I tried to test it to see if it was responding to me or predetermined. Really cool that it felt real though. Nice job! The music selections were great and I liked the SFX too.

I did have a little trouble sometimes knowing if my bid was the one the auctioneer was referring to or if I needed to click again. So maybe have an indicator saying "You are the high bid" or something. I mention it because one time I had clicked, but it said I didn't bid/win at the end so I was confused by that.

Otherwise it's a really great concept that I haven't seen before and getting the "view time" to see "what's behind the door" is a great idea! Nice job!

Very hard! Very addictive! I think the only suggestion from me would be to make pressing W or UP an alternate jump. I find it a little difficult to use the mouse and jump with the spacebar. The moving platforms were MEAN! Hahaha. Had a lot of fun and loved the music and art.

This was cool! The laugh caught me off guard the first time it happened and I went "NOPE!" out loud to myself. Really nice how everything fit together and the rooms/puzzle had a good flow to them. I could definitely see you fleshing this out. I love these kinds of games where you learn the story as you explore.

The music is absolutely fantastic and I really enjoyed the puzzle aspect of figuring out which of the heads is telling the truth. My first time through I messed up and chose the wrong door - I didn't realize what "leads to the past meant" so I thought I got a game over, but then I figured it out and progressed the second time.

This is a VERY cool concept and is well executed. I hope you get the ratings you need. This deserves to rank!

This was so fun! Having the door be a weapon is a great idea. And running through the rooms and trying to clear them and collect more coffee to keep running was a cool mechanic. Reminded me a little of Minit, if you've played that.

I wasn't able to beat it, but I gave it several tries because I was getting closer every time. I think maybe the speed on the caffeine is just a tad high. Are the rooms random or is there a pattern? I sort of felt like there could be, but I wasn't sure.

Loved this! Had a really great time exploring the concept and getting into the idea of making a horror game with this intelligence. Loved finding the ball which basically became my weighted companion cube for the rest of the game. You ended up touching on so many games I love and also injecting it all with your own comedy and style. This was fantastic. Really nice job!

My magnum opus was truly a wonder to behold...which is why I ran away from it immediately. :D

Great job! I really liked the way the doors lead to different upgrades - I think that was a unique way of incorporating the theme. I got to about wave 15. I think in general the game plays well enough and I really dug the music that started playing around the time that I got to wave 8. 

If you plan to expand it, maybe add drops in the actual level or have additional enemy types. But I understand that you were under time restraints for the jam and this is a solid prototype that you can definitely expand on!

Definitely no problem! Feedback is helpful and this is great.

1. Admittedly we know it's not the best use, but we both grew up with AIM which had a door opening sound when someone would come on to chat. For us, it makes sense, but for others, we know the reference is lost on them. 

2. Your answers do change the outcome in certain areas. There is a system there of branches and ties - essentially the conversation can branch outward, but then does tie back in at a common area. This is something that many interactive fiction games do. With a larger scope, we'd love to make those branches more distinct and give them more of an effect, but for a jam this was the most we felt we could make happen in a short time span. There are very specific instances where you might have to start a section over and there is a "bad" ending if you make some particular choices, but for the most part we tried to "guide" the player towards the "right" ones, so few people are encountering those.

3. Haha. "It" is meant to be a bit nebulous. What I can say is that Ash and the main character have had a falling out. There are details given so you can piece together some of it, but the nature of it is meant to be more open and to invite discussion (as well as the nature of the characters contacting you). I'm sorry for not being more definitive, but in this case, it's less about the specifics and more about how the overall experience made you feel.

Sorry if that's a cop out! We hope you still liked it!

Thank you very much! The text speed is something I would definitely like to work on if we expand it. I think some people liked that effect and others felt it could've been faster. I'm glad you were one of the ones for whom it made it feel more real!

Thank you so much for the feedback! We did prep and discuss before (as that's allowed) but the bulk of the work was done during the week of the jam. The music is ALLLLL Elise in the Clouds and I will never stop saying that she's an absolute genius and amazing to work with. 

I'm so glad you had that reaction to it. It really seems to have affected so many people and made them think and debate the meaning of the game and you always sort of hope that it will be that sort of thing, but we're very VERY flattered that it has turned out this way.
