This game is lovely, and it's bittersweet as I've been planning almost exactly this premise for a game of mine for about a year now! Though it's slightly different, it involved a world ending event and the moments of life in a small town before the end comes.

I came across this watching Brackey's video

"Best Games from the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.2!"

I really enjoyed it, an incredible entry, great job!

Thank you :) that is a very kind thing to say, I had fun making it! Who'd have thought that time constrictions could be so fun! (and stressful, lol).

Thank you so much for playing the game and for your feedback.

I originally started out with the mouse controlling the aimer, but I had some issues with the cursor snapping to the right whenever I moved the mouse below it's clamped angle. So in the end, to save time, I just made it move with A and D.

Lol I know what you mean, I have trouble with concentration and I am very easily distracted.

My first game was on Game Maker, it's on my Itch page also, it's absolute trash haha! :D

Thank you for playing!

I'll admit, this was my second jam and the first I have made a full playable game loop in unity. There is a lot I wanted to do, as I felt the game was pretty boring lol, I just didn't want to overreach and be unable to finish. But I'm happy with the little I got done, it just could have been improved a lot.

Thank you for your feedback!

I have 2 suggestions! But they are very minor.

The first is when replaying the level, seeing the intro every single time (the launch sequence) could frustrate players.

secondly, I love the way the sub maneuvers but when you reverse, it seems to instantly stop all velocity, but the same doesn't happen when you go forward, it's a little jarring.

Very small things, I loved how well polished the game felt, very original!

Really cool looking game! I liked having multiple characters with different attack styles!

Extremely well made game, really enjoyed the atmosphere and general feel to the game.

You should be proud of this one!

Thanks for playing!

I do admit to liking the idea of having to sacrifice good ideas for the sake of destroying bad ones, but it can be frustrating in this medium lol.

Thanks a lot for playing!

I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I played this game quite a bit! I really enjoyed it lol. I actually found a little cheat, if you time your movement just as the block breaks, you can skip a few blocks at a time and go really fast. I got to around 280 I think with this method!

Great entry! Well done :)

Thank you for playing my game!

I love that you understood the whole good ideas being a lot easier to fend off than the bad ones, I wanted to portrait how easy it is to interrupt the flow of good work!

Awesome game, really cool mechanics and great innovation.

The only issue I found is the beat would sometimes change when I changed level, making movement and attacking feel out of time.

Thanks for playing! :D

My son loves this game, he's played it quite a lot already lol.

Thank you for making him smile!

I chose to not give the keys :D

Thanks so much for the update!

I played right through to the end this time, the production value is so good! I'm very impressed!

Thanks for playing! :)

Looking forward to it!

This is such a creative idea, and fantastically executed!

I had an issue at the second puzzle a lot, I couldn't get past it no matter what I tried, even after multiple resets. But from what I did see, I enjoyed! Great job.

Thank you for playing! :)

Cool game!

I think a start screen would help players prepare better, as I nose dived straight into the rocks immediately upon playing, haha!

Thanks very much for playing!

I'm gonna go and fix the controls to make it a little more sharp!

Thanks for checking my game out! :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I think I'm gonna go smooth the controls out, seems to be a popular request, haha!

Thanks for playing!

I actually started out with the cursor on mouse move but whenever I moved the mouse underneath, it would snap the cursor to the right. So in the end I went with the A & D movement. But you're right about the snappyness of it, I left in the drift and just forgot to remove it!

Thanks for playing man :).

I spent a solid hour or two just staring at the screen trying to think of something lol.

Fantastic entry to the jam, this game surprised me with it's depth and gameplay.

I jumped so hard when the car was throw at you lol.

I love the mini-game, I've seen people make less complicated jam entries compared to that alone and then you went and had a whole other game on top of it!

Excellent on all fronts, a strong contender for the top spot!

I had a lot of fun with this! Sharks with RPG launchers, what else do I need to say? Haha, great job!

Thank you for playing!
Lol it is a difficult task, I wanted to make it difficult to finish purely because of that.

Thank you kindly for your compliments and feedback, especially as I'm not much of an artist, it's good to know the art wasn't too abstract or immersion breaking.

Thanks for playing!

Yeah that was definitely some of the more desired changes, the reason I made them different was to off set the amount of memories that overlapped, making it possible to shoot the bad ones without hitting the good.

Do you know when you just play a game and instantly get jealous at how creative and innovative it is? That was this game for me. I don't know how you did it, but this is one of the most creative games I've played in a long time and the fact you squeezed it into a jam is just incredible.

What an outstanding entry, if this doesn't win, I'll be shocked.

Can't ever go wrong with a grappling gun!

Lot's of fun :) great job.

A remarkably beautiful game given the time constraints, would love to see a full version of this!

Excellent job.

Very cool game, loved how you could pick up new weapons!

I did find it difficult sometimes to see what was an enemy and what wasn't, maybe a little outline on the enemies or something would have made that more obvious.

Really well done! Was cool watching your progression in the discord.

It was a fun little game, but I felt like it needed maybe some sound or other input whilst drilling, would have helped create a sense of drilling.

It's a cool idea, good job!

I really liked the way the camera would zoom in with the treasure chests and that you could pump your own oxygen!

I think a title screen and maybe a little tutorial would have helped me understand the need to pump, I thought the bubbles under the repair ship restored oxygen! Lol.

Great job!

Thanks for playing! There were definitely some balance issues with the game, I think the system I created for spawning them was a little too simple. I created a wave system that would spawn with a set variation between waves, but I used the same system for both types of memories as well as their spawn points. This lead to having some issues with overlap lol.

I left the good memories at 1 hit purely because that's how it seems to be in my own head, intrusive thoughts are so much harder to push away and the good ones seem so fragile, it seemed thematic.

I really appreciate the feedback!

Thank you for playing! I did get a few friends to play test it but we kept going between too hard and too easy lol, was difficult to get the balance just right.

Cool little game, I kept expecting the music to change, it teased me! Lol.

This is a fantastic game! The visuals and the audio are so unique and well crafted, the game itself is fun and engaging. I had a lot of fun!
