Thank you all for the comments, I have been travelling for work over the last 2 weeks, but I am back now, and plan on working on updating the game. Major changes expected around the controls as that is the area I think will be best suited for an upgrade after the feedback. I plan on rereleasing the game going forward a few times.

Thank you for the feedback, I definitely don't expect the Wilhelm scream to make it to a final product, that was more of a joke I made with friends. I will absolutely be looking into a better control functionality to make the floatiness better.

Thank you for the feedback, I definitely don't expect the Wilhelm scream to make it to a final product, that was more of a joke I made with friends. I honestly have very little experience in VFX, if you have any tutorials that you can point me to that would be great!

Thank you for the feedback! that was one of my thoughts when posting the game. I also do hope to replace the art by end of year. I will look into ray cast movement, I have never heard of using Ray Cast in that functionality before!

so i am halfway dont with a platformer game. Am i able to use this for the Jam or are all games supposed to be completely built during the Jam window?

good job everyone! Congrats to the winners all the games were a lot of fun!

Great job on the game, I love the pixel art and the limited lighted area makes it challenging. Having a skip button on the dialogue is such a godsend for me, i died a lot and being able to hop past the beginning dialogue was great.

Yeah I agree with the below, I plan on updating the game in the coming months to make it even better as I enjoyed working on this way more than I thought I would. Thank you for playing and I appreciate the feedback!

Im glad you enjoyed the game! thanks for the feedback, some of the things you mentioned I wanted to clean up prior to posting, but I just ran out of time. (Submitted a week early because I wouldn't be available the remainder of the time period). I plan on using this feedback though to better update the game and re-release it maybe in 3-5 months with 10-15 levels and even more enemies/tower selections. One of the things I really wanted to do but could not implement was a level where there was no path at all an the orcs did machine learning based on your placement of towers to try and make the best path to the other side of the map, that would be a later level addition. Thanks again for the feedback!

Thanks for playing! yea I liked the grim twist as well. I will definitely be returning to this project to make it a little more whole, and implement improvements from everyone here, I appreciate the feedback

Thanks for playing my game! I planned on making it a little longer and having some more details but didn't have the time. I plan on revisiting this game later in the year and utilize all suggestions to make it more complete and add in more levels!

I enjoy little puzzlers like this, I accidentally solved a few levels in ways I don't think they were supposed to be solved (level 4 i think comes to mind), the first one with the red mirrors I bounced them all over the place and it hit the moon. I do see the note on where to find the instructions, but it could be good if you can to put a instructions listing at the beginning as well. other than that i like the game, the space theme is great.

This was fun I liked playing the monster, eating the people was opposed to being a human trying to survive against the monster was a good twist. I did have a few of the enemies clip through the walls and get stuck outside the playing area. typically they went through the walls backwards. idk if they had a collider on the front end that stopped them but going backwards it didn't catch it or what. Also some ambient sound would have been good, the crunches and tings are the only noise i heard while playing, but the opening and ending guitar riffs were cool

Great game, I enjoyed the bunnies running around the screen they were cute. as the others mentioned some sounds (be it ambient or music) would have made a huge difference. I also would have liked if it was a little more challenging, make it so your health and food went down just a little faster, not too much though

awesome game! The biggest change i think is needed is the WASD movement on the camera for sure, other than that I enjoyed the game a lot. I needed a few playthroughs to be able to play decently as the first time the barbarians from the east came they wiped me out really fast, the mixed need of resource, and food management caught me right before they showed up so my warriors i generated were half dead because of hunger.

This game was built in Unity, I utilized C# for my scripting and pulled many assets off the Unity Store free assets. I provide a credits section at the end, and appreciate all input provided by outside sources. I was working through the GameDev.Tv courses when I started working on the game.

I really enjoyed the game, I got 20 kills, and was generally not all that great at avoiding the zombies when they got into close proximity but I enjoyed the flamethrower effects and the healing/reloading was well executed

Feel free to leave any advise or tips on the game. I am just starting my dev journey and this is my first submission for a Jam all tips and pointers are welcome.

Also its counter intuitive, but lose one time also to get the full effect of the story!

cool game! I enjoy the fog, and the messages that appear. i got lost roaming around, but was able to find my way back and saw both the camp and the fort. The cawing crow was a cool touch.

Was there plans to do something with the Glowing Green Orbs over the ponds?

Great job

I really enjoyed the game! thanks for sharing
