I'll look into it, thanks for the feedback

I had 20 something wood. Beavers come. Think "maybe I'll just ignore them and finish the bridge". Beavers steal all my wood. Bad. I'm in trouble. Take a lot of time killing beavers. Can't repair caravan, can't gather food because I need wood. Reach the desert. Die of starvation. 10/10
Really good entry, very cozy and easy to get into. I think more animations and some juice would be a nice touch, but that does't take away from the game as it stands. I really liked the tutorial, options and sound design. Music and backgrounds are very good and chill and the game is really well balanced.
The only "negative" thing I would say is that I don't think it ties well to the theme, but that is something I struggled with my entry as well, so take that with a grain of salt.
My take away is: you guys did a very very good job. Congrats :)
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you had fun :)
Slice&Dice is a much more complete (and really really good) experience, for sure. I've never seen any other dice game like it, so it was very difficult for me to steer away from it. I really tried to give it my own spin, but I felt the need to clarify I took heavy inspiration from it anyway.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you had a good time
I really wanted to add a compendium, but I felt it would take too much time. The game freezing is just the particles loading (I forgot to do it at the start of the game). I'm fixing some stuff for a post jam update. Probably not gonna work on this for a while after that.
Thank you so much for the feedback! I wonder how many people bought it after playing my game. I recommended it in most of the comments... maybe I should ask for commissions?
Jokes aside, thanks for pointing out what you liked about my game and design choices compared to Slice&Dice. I think you are right about the assets, I should have made them more distinct. At first glance, it really looks like the assets from S&D. I'll redraw them after the jam.
I was having a really hard time figuring out how to design the screen itself (looks and functionality). Then I had a really really hard time making it. And then I had to make the dice merging work on top of that. But I'm happy how it worked in the end. I wanted a very tactile menu, you know?
Good luck on your dev journey too :)
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I hope you had a good time
At first I was going to make a little narrative about how our memories and perception change and reshape and bla bla bla, and use it to justify the theme and the dice merging mechanic... but in the end I just really wanted to make a dice game. I sprinkled bits of this narrative idea in the tutorial, and that was it. Maybe this game fits better with "Alchemy" or "Transformation" themes.
My god.... 5 hours??? I don't know if I should thank you or apologize... (but really, thank you)
I thought about adding a catalog where you could see the combinations you discovered, but that would take a lot of time. I spent two entire days just to make the dice merging screen. It was pain.
I also think I forgot to disable collisions and reset angular momentum when dice is sorted. I tested it a couple times and thought it was good to go. I'll work on some small fixes, maybe balance the encounters and some of the dice classes a little bit, but I don't plan on making a full version any soon. I have another game of mine on the burner right now.
Again, thank tou so much for playing the game. If you are craving a great dice rolling game, give Slice&Dice a try. It was my main inspirations for this one, really great game.
Thanks!
I think the game charger for me was learning how to use tweeners. All the animations in this game (aside from the dice rolling, which is done with the physics engine) were done with tweeners. This tutorial about pixel perfect VFX also helped a lot. You can draw a bunch of quick HD assets and instantiate your particle effects in different subviewports.
