Thank you guys for the last few weeks, I played a lot of cool games and have fun with them, while getting constructive feedbacks about my submission.
Everyone did a great job, there were a lot of really unique and very enjoyable horror games.
- Really got inspired by a lot of your art and world you have created in seven days
- It was fun to play trough a lot of creative and great stories - most of them need to be finished and publicated
- Some of you scared me on very intuitive and clever ways - I really enjoyed that
The community was awesome on this jam.
- I got a lot of helpful feedbacks about my game and learned a lot from them - I will try to use them in my future projects.
- You gave me motivation to keep working on games with your kind words.
Keep up the good work, if any of you will create a whole game from their submit, ping me, I would check out your final versions of the initial ideas that born in this jam.
I will release a full version of my submission as well, if you are interested in it, check it out in the next few days!
Thanks again - and for the hosts too -, it was a really nice experience!
Oh my, really nice visuals and atmosphere - hidden gem in this jam. Maybe the scope is a bit small for a seven days jam, but it's absolutely nice and enjoyable. Liked the music and soundeffect - and the story as well. Spawning the kid could be a bit more clever and handle to not spawn right into my face. It's a difficult, yet fun game - I got jumpscared twice because of the kid and the sound.
Nice entry, GG, maybe next time you will get a bit better SEO and more votes! Keep up the good work, see you in the next jam!
This game boasts beautiful art and an enchanting world, which I found particularly appealing. The storyline offered a well-executed adaptation of the concept of the Black Swan. The tasks presented were intuitive and clever, adding depth to the gameplay. The cinematic intro and outro were nice touches, enhancing the overall experience.
The choice of scope for a seven-day jam was well thought out, as it allowed for the creation of a cohesive and engaging game.
However, I did feel that the absence of music during playtime was a noticeable omission. Adding a fitting soundtrack could further elevate the atmosphere and immersion within the game.
Overall big GG for the team, you made a very good entry for the jam!
This game presents a distinct and original world with striking visuals. The storyline is engaging and contributes significantly to the overall experience. The 3D top-down perspective offers a fresh dimension to the gameplay, and the maze-like aspects were well-executed.
The interactions within the game were enjoyable, but the addition of suitable music could enhance the atmosphere and immersion. I also missed the horror elements in it.
The main menu design is praiseworthy, making it a pleasurable entry point to the game.
A minor point of contention is the inability to skip through the interactions at the beginning of each level after experiencing defeat. Allowing players to skip these sequences would streamline the gameplay and make it more user-friendly.
In summary, this game features a unique world and an engaging storyline. There is room for improvement, such as incorporating music and permitting players to skip interactions after death. Overall, it shows promise, and there is potential for further development. Keep up the good work!
Good job, I really had fun with this one. It has really cute visuals and sounds, loved the atmosphere.
After a while I understood the meaning of eating a pie - or size decrease when attacked - cool and simple mechanics.
However, I'd suggest considering some improvements in the UI elements. The menu and the pie amount indicator could benefit from a bit of polish to enhance the overall user experience. A more intuitive and visually appealing user interface can go a long way in making the game even more enjoyable.
While I appreciated the adorable aesthetics, I was initially hoping for some horror elements in the game, which I felt were missing. However, my expectations were quickly subverted when I got jumpscared by a wolf when I least expected it.
Despite the minor issues and the occasional platforming challenge, I found this game to be a nice overall entry. With some UI improvements and perhaps a few more surprises, it could become an even more engaging and entertaining experience. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much for your feedback!
Yes, I watched a lot of scenes from the movie under the jam to get inspired - I really like that movie too. And yeah, I know collecting keys is not a gamechanger mechanic, since submission I did a lot of improvements on my game, if you are interested, look back after a few days and check the latest version out.
Hi! Switch feedbacks in the last day of voting! Here is my game: https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2023/rate/2330278
Rate and comment and I will check out your games and will give deeper thoughts about your submission. Thank you all for this jam, really enjoyed it!
Ah thank you for your feedback! Yeah, I can understand that finding the key is a bit hard in that big environment. Since submission I made it a bit more intuitive to find it with footprints and so, but if you are interested in get into the lighthouse, I can tell you, that you need to search in the right edge of the building (maybe in a barrel, I don't know). Thanks again!
