cool concept! nice minigame

Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback, it means a lot! I'm glad you liked the ghostgirl stuff! B)

Thank you! Good pint, I will worm on it! At least I will make the path more explicit.

Thank you guys for the last few weeks, I played a lot of cool games and have fun with them, while getting constructive feedbacks about my submission.

Everyone did a great job, there were a lot of really unique and very enjoyable horror games.

  • Really got inspired by a lot of your art and world you have created in seven days
  • It was fun to play trough a lot of creative and great stories - most of them need to be finished and publicated
  • Some of you scared me on very intuitive and clever ways - I really enjoyed that

The community was awesome on this jam.

  • I got a lot of helpful feedbacks about my game and learned a lot from them - I will try to use them in my future projects.
  • You gave me motivation to keep working on games with your kind words.

Keep up the good work, if any of you will create a whole game from their submit, ping me, I would check out your final versions of the initial ideas that born in this jam.

I will release a full version of my submission as well, if you are interested in it, check it out in the next few days!

Thanks again - and for the hosts too -, it was a really nice experience!

Thanks everyone who rated my submit, you all made really cool games! I'm going to sleep, so I can't rate more games to the end of the votings.

Oh my, really nice visuals and atmosphere - hidden gem in this jam. Maybe the scope is a bit small for a seven days jam, but it's absolutely nice and enjoyable. Liked the music and soundeffect - and the story as well. Spawning the kid could be a bit more clever and handle to not spawn right into my face. It's a difficult, yet fun game - I got jumpscared twice because of the kid and the sound.

Nice entry, GG, maybe next time you will get  a bit better SEO and more votes! Keep up the good work, see you in the next jam!

Sadly I couldn't find out how to play. The camera movement was smooth and the visuals are interesting tho. I hope that you will have more time in the next jam to finish your game and make it a bit more self-explainable. Keep up the good work!

Thank God it's just a girl - otherwise it would scare the sh*t out of me. Nice atmosphere, very unique puzzle in the intro block. Really liked that one.

The sounds were nice - maybe some music can make it even better.

Please implement mouse sensitivity settings! Please.

Nice submit overall, GG!

Sorry, I tried to say something about your game, but it can't be loaded in. Keep up the work, the next jam will be better!

This game boasts beautiful art and an enchanting world, which I found particularly appealing. The storyline offered a well-executed adaptation of the concept of the Black Swan. The tasks presented were intuitive and clever, adding depth to the gameplay. The cinematic intro and outro were nice touches, enhancing the overall experience.

The choice of scope for a seven-day jam was well thought out, as it allowed for the creation of a cohesive and engaging game.

However, I did feel that the absence of music during playtime was a noticeable omission. Adding a fitting soundtrack could further elevate the atmosphere and immersion within the game.

Overall big GG for the team, you made a very good entry for the jam!

Thanks the kind words, means a lot! *going to check out your game*

*Epic top-down lighting gamedev bro fist*

Good luck for polishing, it has nice potentials in it!

This game presents a distinct and original world with striking visuals. The storyline is engaging and contributes significantly to the overall experience. The 3D top-down perspective offers a fresh dimension to the gameplay, and the maze-like aspects were well-executed.

The interactions within the game were enjoyable, but the addition of suitable music could enhance the atmosphere and immersion. I also missed the horror elements in it.

The main menu design is praiseworthy, making it a pleasurable entry point to the game.

A minor point of contention is the inability to skip through the interactions at the beginning of each level after experiencing defeat. Allowing players to skip these sequences would streamline the gameplay and make it more user-friendly.

In summary, this game features a unique world and an engaging storyline. There is room for improvement, such as incorporating music and permitting players to skip interactions after death. Overall, it shows promise, and there is potential for further development. Keep up the good work!

*checking your game rn*

Good job, I really had fun with this one. It has really cute visuals and sounds, loved the atmosphere.

After a while I understood the meaning of eating a pie - or size decrease when attacked - cool and simple mechanics.

However, I'd suggest considering some improvements in the UI elements. The menu and the pie amount indicator could benefit from a bit of polish to enhance the overall user experience. A more intuitive and visually appealing user interface can go a long way in making the game even more enjoyable.

While I appreciated the adorable aesthetics, I was initially hoping for some horror elements in the game, which I felt were missing. However, my expectations were quickly subverted when I got jumpscared by a wolf when I least expected it.

Despite the minor issues and the occasional platforming challenge, I found this game to be a nice overall entry. With some UI improvements and perhaps a few more surprises, it could become an even more engaging and entertaining experience. Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much for your feedback!

Yes, I watched a lot of scenes from the movie under the jam to get inspired - I really like that movie too. And yeah, I know collecting keys is not a gamechanger mechanic, since submission I did a lot of improvements on my game, if you are interested, look back after a few days and check the latest version out.

Thanks the kind words, apretiate it!

thank you very!

Hi! Switch feedbacks in the last day of voting! Here is my game: https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2023/rate/2330278
Rate and comment and I will check out your games and will give deeper thoughts about your submission. Thank you all for this jam, really enjoyed it!

Yeah, I read a lot of articles about it too, thanks! Good point, it's just hard to find the balance between "fear of unknown" and "fear of something, that you see". I will work on it, thanks!

Thanks!

Yeah, I know, it's a bit repetitive 😅 I didn't have time for other mechanics so I tried to save what I can save.

Ah thank you for your feedback! Yeah, I can understand that finding the key is a bit hard in that big environment. Since submission I made it a bit more intuitive to find it with footprints and so, but if you are interested in get into the lighthouse, I can tell you, that you need to search in the right edge of the building (maybe in a barrel, I don't know). Thanks again!

oh nice, thanks the effort!

Ah thank you, it means a lot to read that type of comments too!

Yes, thanks the honest feedback and yeah, it can be very repetitive - sadly I didn't have time for more features to be implemented, but I will upload an updated demo version - if you are interested, check back later, thank you!

Do you think it would be good? I can try to put some in it. Thank you your feedback!

Thank you very, means a lot!

Really liked the art and the AI of the enemies, great job on this one. Cool demo, gg. (you should put the story inside the game, not just into the description)

Ah it was so cute and clever. Really liked that one. Nice visuals, shadows, sounds, story. Absolutely nice entry, GGs!

Absolute best, thx (pls mouse sensitivity setting)

I could really apreciate checkpoints. It's a great little game with nice graphic and sounds, you could put some 8bit melody under it.

very interesting world, unique and creative visuals.

very nice entry! Unique mechanics, classic platformer vibes, difficult playgame. Great entry, but I missed the horror element, from this horror jam entry. GG.

Cute visuals, nice to have android devs in the jam! Keep up!

really liked the minimalistic visuals and the fitting music. I had issues to find out where can I go and where not, because I had to walk out of the screen in both cases. Nice entry!

Really nice one! Liked the short story and big map. Visuals and sounds were okay, the controlls were unique and fun. I didn't know the tasks for the first time, but after I get it. Nice minigame, gg.

Ookay, it was very fast. Really cool visuals and fitting music. Very enjoyable gameplay, althrough I couldn't use my axe usefully against the monsters. Liked the guided path. GG!
