At first I was like, "This game is ezpz!" and then a few minutes later I was running in fear haha
Great presentation and the first person camera/fog of war makes it quite tense

Oh yeah, I get that for sure! Game jams are tough, you start with so many big plans and then have to cut so much xD Keep up the good work!!

A fellow Modal Music fan I see ;) The green attack seemed a bit weaker, maybe I was using it wrong but I think most of my deaths were with green. Nice theming though!

I think I got stuck. I got the same task 3 days in a row (after having already inputted the task in the filing cabinet) and couldnt figure out what to do next. Still, the atmosphere is spooky. I'd love to see more, but I'm terrible at puzzles like this lol

It's like... Destroy All Monsters, Donkey Kong 64, a shitty Mario 64 romhack, the graphics of LSD Dream Emulator, and the tastes of a true goblin lord, all rolled into one. I'm lovin' it.

When keeping track of like 4 people at once, the tension is quite fun! However, there is also some downtime when waiting for the last customer to walk down the ramp, slowly. xD
Jumping on the shelves to knock hats onto the ground was also pretty funny.

Very juicy, the dash attack caused me to make sound effects with my voice. I'm not quite convinced the game is *about* fashion though. ;) ;P

This game is engaging and fun, but NUTSO hard. I died dozens of times on 1-3 and my friend is still trying to beat it on the other computer lol. I got 6 floppies before resigning. Backgrounds are pretty, grappling hook is fun.

Thanks for playing and your feedback! I'll check out your game soon :)

I like the idea of needing to balance 1) powering up, 2) healing, and 3) attacking. It's a decent proof of concept. I hope you can expand it further!

The difficulty ramps up fast. If it weren't for the fact that other people commented about beating it, I'd be able to convince myself that one of those puzzles is impossible. I'm going to be haunted by that puzzle... Which is a good sign? I think? :)

It's pretty funny how improving yourself just makes it harder to play, haha. I wonder if you could, like, be able to cut through more types of objects the longer the sword, but otherwise you're more unwieldy. I could see a min-metroidvania with this concept. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! We think it's a concept that has a lot of potential. Been working on some additions, we'll see how it goes going forward.

Thanks, that means a lot :)

My brain is broken but I had fun.
(Thanks for making a Linux version!)

Yeah, climbing up the brothers would make for an interesting mechanic. I could imagine a puzzle where, for example, you build a ladder of brothers up a thin shaft, and brothers being added from a bunch of different entrances to the shaft, then at the end you climb up. Or something like that. Keep up the good work!

The concept is really neat, and I think the puzzles did a good job at demonstrating the mechanical ideas. I did manage to get myself stuck between a wall and a stack of brothers at one point, but that was my own fault, haha. I like the monastic theme as well.

The platforming itself was at times frustrating though, I felt it was a little hard to make semi-precise jumps.

Relaxing music. Poor Dennis! <3

I found the secret way to play this game. Start in the far left of the stage. Then start madly pressing LMB and scrolling down on the scroll wheel, while holding D to move right. You'll fly through the air. Please turn this mechanic into a game.

Also the character is cute. :)

Is this a Blast Corps clone? Nice, needs some polishing like a win condition though.

Hope you add some enemies or something. Nice level generation!

Thanks for playing everyone! :)

I was on a team actually, you can see ours here: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2018/rate/301307

The game page has more instructions. If you like the idea we actually are still working on it and have been releasing a more stable version, I think my buddy posted a link to the "post-jam" version. Of course, you should base your rating on the jam version to be fair ;)

I want to play and comment more games but haven't had much free time, hopefully I'll get to it soon!

Edit: heres the postjam version in case you don't see this before the end of the rating period: https://chrisholtshouser.itch.io/spirit-showdown-post-jam

Man, pacifist run is very hard. The dudes who kill the other dudes are so rough. This gives me the same "I am so pissed off but I must keep playing" feeling. Quite nice!
