I like the idea of needing to balance 1) powering up, 2) healing, and 3) attacking. It's a decent proof of concept. I hope you can expand it further!
Amazing concept! I really like the retro art style and audio! I did encounter a bug where the mage's HP was negative. Besides that, this is a great game!
Thanks. I know about the bug, and I can't wait to patch it. I also plan to expand a bit. Glad you enjoyed it
I'm not sure how it happened, but my Mage ended a round with -4 HP, which ended up making them invincible. They could continue to take damage forever with no consequence.
I like the swapping idea! Could be a lot of fun with more monsters (and more tied-together party members)!
I forgot to fix a bug, so it does that. I'll update it ASAP. Anyways, thanks for the kind words. Stay tuned, as I plan on expanding the idea a bit.
Simple and easy the grasp, I can see the potential with more actions available (or more people tied together!). Nice spin on the theme.
(Don't read this part unless you've given it some plays). There's a broken strategy in continuing to heal-swap on the first guy, effectively giving the warrior unlimited hp if you have the patience. Let the warrior take some hits til the mage has prayed to 20 attack. That's easily fixed with a turn limit or slowly ramping attack.
Thanks for the comment. I realized the warrior glitch too late to fix, but I'll update the game after the jam. I'm glad you see potential in the game. Thanks again for the kind words.
Great job!! Fun art style and the combat system felt good! The farthest in I got was about 4/5 enemies deep!
Glad you liked it!
Pretty good! Music is quite obnoxious though. And the art wasn't that crazy. Although, simple and cool mechanic! Easy to understand, and I got into it pretty fast. Maybe make the enemies weaker at the beginning that way the player feels as though they're making more progress at the beginning? Felt pretty slow.
Overall, cool game!
Thanks for the notes. I'll update the game and maybe add more content after the jam
