Primary Roles:
Unity Developer.
General Game Designer.
2D Animator.
A jack of all trades.

Great to have roles:
Community Manager.
Marketer.
Playtester.

(The roles are suggestions; please read further)

Our Team: Unity Developer, 2D and 3D Artist, Music Composer, Sound Designer.

Project: Lost in The Open is a top-down turn-based strategy roguelike. Please see the steam page for more details and screenshots!

The steam page is set as coming soon. And this is where you come in! We need all hands on deck. There is a lot of work to be done before the game is finished. The most important is that you have belief in the project. Most of our team members work full time and are in this for the long run. For that reason, having fun while working on it and the patience to stick with it is crucial.

Regarding roles: While technical skills are great, passion, talent and commitment are even greater. There is always room for people like that. You will in that case likely be given design tasks (e.g. we need 10 items designed, please generate ideas) or marketing related tasks (e.g. we need a post on our Twitter/YouTube, please design posts), apart from general help where needed.

If this project sounds interesting to you, please do not hesitate to DM me. And if you feel like you aren't a total fit, DM me anyway. You might be mistaken about yourself, and if not, then I would still love to connect!

Length Of project: Release date is preliminarily set to November 2023.

Split %: This is hard to determine and depends on the workload. We are very open about this and will discuss this more and more in detail as the project progresses.

Contact Method: DM me! Strongly prefer DMs on discord: TheForgot3n1#3445

Thanks for giving it a try :P hope you liked it. Art was done by Fallgazer.

Looking For: 2D Animator

Project: Lost in The Open is a top-down turn-based strategy roguelike. It is a game about a ruler who is betrayed by his former allies and chased into a dangerous forest with only his bodyguards and his wits left to escape. The theme and style of the game is dark, the ruler who you play as was a hated and despised ruler. The gameplay is inspired by titles such as "FTL: Faster Than Light" and "Final Fantasy Tactics", while the atmosphere and artstyle of the game is inspired by "Darkest Dungeon".

The game is currently in its later stages. We are integrating artwork and music, revamping graphics, fleshing out gameplay and looking at areas of improvement while working towards the final product. Animation is a key component in the graphics of the game and we need it to be crisp.

Let me know if you would like to play a demo of the game.

Length Of project: A beta of the game will be done before October. The ambition is to launch a Kickstarter and see where we go from there.

Split %: Depends on the workload. We are very open about this and will discuss this more and more in detail as soon as we have a trailer to launch marketing on.

Contact Method: DM me! Preferably on discord: TheForgot3n1#3445

Hey Sparks. Can I add you on Discord? We might be looking for someone interested in layering. My discord id is TheForgot3n1#3445

I was just curious. I don't currently have any need for a female voice.

Do you have any samples?

Add me on discord Owy!

Short and sweet game :) I would have loved some kind of checkpoint system though! Loved the art for the generators.

Hadn't thought about that before, actually, increasing the speed. Since there was a fair bit of walking too then it would have probably helped those moments out.

Great concept! I really liked watching the procedural generation too, it created surprisingly good levels for being so quickly designed. Like the others though I did have a hard to with the controls and I wasn't really sure what was precisely going on. Also I managed to click R accidentally so many times, would have loved for the restart button to be Esc or something further away from WASD. :) I'd love to see a continuation of this idea though. Good job.

Thanks for the long feedback. :) I think your critique is spot-on. At least another enemy type would have done the game good, and I'm not surprised the boss got stuck, as we didn't have time to iron out bugs too much either. Apparently some imps (big-horned creatures) can also get out-of-bounds.

Yes

Super clean game. That's the best way of summarizing it. Simple powerups. Simple movement. I really liked the zoom-out powerup. It felt kind of original and made a big difference. Great job!

I couldn't finish the game because I couldn't use X and B for some reason, my inputs just didn't register! But I agree with the rest. Great animations and art. :) What is there looks clean. GJ!

I really like the concept. And the simple graphics are done cleanly. My biggest gripe is the fact that you can kill yourself with your own square. I think it would be much better to have a short stun or some other kind of milder punishment for not dodging your own square properly. Outright killing you just makes the recall too hard to use when speeds are high enough. I'd like to see a development of these ideas, I believe there is something there.

Interesting idea indeed. But so much walking and many dead ends!

Very unfortunate that I couldn't move the wheel... neither WASD or the arrow keys works, and I cant figure anything out with my mouse. A short how to play would have helped.
