Nicely done! Artwork is polished. The animations are a bit glitchy. The power-ups are an interesting mechanic, but they levels don't seem to be designed to fit the power-ups. If I had one criticism, it would be to improve the level design. The mechanics are all there. Great work!
Very fun and polish game. The music and art style is fantastic, really drove in time haha.
I really like how you presented the power ups thought the level, letting the player try them out one a time to understand what they do.
Congrats for a great creation and finishing the Jam
This was fantastic - great polish! I loved the mechanics, the art, the music and the feels.
Usually I do not like punishing games, but I feel like this one could have been a bit more punishing. Save points would have been perfect.
Regardless, amazing. Nice job!
Amazing submission! It had a super polished feel to it with the graphics, animations, and sound effects. I enjoyed moving through the map, but the attack range felt a little short with no power-ups for it. Nice touch with the slightly varying sound effects to reduce repetition!
Enjoyable game and interesting progression! Made it in 192 seconds with 11 kills if I remember correctly.
You've captured a great feel in this game. Clear design, enjoyable gameplay and a killer soundtrack! VERY GOOD!
Very enjoyable game! It's definitely a bit short for a metroidvania, but for a jam game it feels just right. I love the art, you manage to add a lot of variety to the level design with some plants and clutter. My main criticism is that the enemies are passive, so combat is not really a challenge.
WOW! very nice game. To be honest. The original idea for my game was to make a metroidvania where you lose your skills during gameplay instead of a turn-based RPG. I gave up the idea. It would be way too complex for a game jam this size. If I had done it, my game would be like the opposite of yours, and also a puzzle game haha.
Again nice job!
Great use of colors. Also the menu animations etc. are amazing. Feels super juicy.
One perhaps counter-intuitive thing was that the lightning powerup made the the knight go faster, while I expected the zap to get bigger. idk. perhasps just my expectation.
The animation of the zap is also really cool.
I think the hitbox for spike detection is perhaps a bit large. It felt a bit unfair sometimes in the falling part with the coins.
Liked the sound effects and music as well.
Otherwise great job! :)
Super clean game. That's the best way of summarizing it. Simple powerups. Simple movement. I really liked the zoom-out powerup. It felt kind of original and made a big difference. Great job!
Exellent game, very good looking and with excellent music! I feel like it is a tiny bit too simple though it does very well what it is meant to. The movement is also great and goes well with the animations and sound effects!
Only "bug"/"problem" I encountered was when I died, the broken armor pieces that appear, also spawned where I was going to respawn, but it only happened once.
Great job!
Also, first playthrough took me 189 seconds, I killed 10 enemies and got 41 coins.
Congrats, this is an awesome game, the art and music are just phenomenal, the concept is great, the jump feels good, there is really nothing to complain about, but, because I'm a nit picker, I will say that one more enemy and a juicier attack would make the game a lot better.
Loved the aesthetic of the game. I think the polish was done really well and although simple, the gameplay felt solid.
A few small nitpicks I'd have would be that the warnings for the spikes on the top-right of the map felt like they were a little too close to the actual spikes, so I had to restart quite a few times, as I didn't have much time to react. I'd have also liked to see the ability to stop the ascent of the jump mid-action, so the movement could be just a little tighter. Obviously that's not necessary, but just something to consider.
Great job though. Got a time of 165, 44 coins and 10 enemies.
Had a blast playing through this! The art was amazing, and really sold your Jungle Dungeon idea!
A standard metroidvania indeed. I did enjoy it quite a bit, however the level design was a bit confusing towards the end. A good little game nonetheless!
I really enjoyed the variation in audio feedback, kept things fresh! I love the sprite work. Nice stuff
