Hi there! I'm here again ♥
It's an honor to be the first replying here tbhh! I'm getting excited over nothing haha
As I've already answered most of those questions about how I like the game and all, I'll just leave a review on the 1.3 version.

1.

Firstly, if I have to be honest I was a bit panicking with the remove of the godmod. As I'm very busy those days, I was scared that I wouldn't be able to make enough IG money to read all the chapters as fast as possible haha. Surprisingly, reading Neil's chapters from the 21th didn't cost anything. Maybe a bug? I didn't mind to be honest. Then, reading Dimitri's, it did cost 750 for each. As we start with 5000 coins, I didn't need to worry though especially when I already read the first three chapters.

Still, I wanted to try the selling option after reading all the new chapters (which got me totally disappointed during Neil's last chapter by the way. COME ON! why did he stop? I was craving for this loooll. You're so mean Celianna! You tease us just as much as we tease your characters!) anywaaay, so I was saying! I tested this selling option out, and it was kinda fun to be honest. I don't know if it'll be more challenging later on though. It's fun because it somehow has a satisfying sense, but I didn't need to do it a lot. Maybe if I had 20 chapters to catch on, I'd be a bit bored to do so many (easy) clothes. We need to sell 5 pieces for a chapter. It's like 100 clothes if I want to catch up 20 chapters. I won't deny it can become pretty boring. The reason why it's satisfying at first is because it's new and still relaxing. After 100 pieces, it's not new anymore. I don't know if you planned to make the level harder or not (maybe there's more clothes to make once we buy more fabrics? I can't say because I didn't buy any). However I think the cost for a chapter is reasonable tho', doing a mere five pieces of clothes that isn't hard to do is totally fine. It's not too easy either. But maybe add other games related to fashion? Like picking a premade outfit for the clients? The player would have to guess according to the looks of the person and some small info about him. For example, if he likes pink or wears a lot of pink, maybe advice him a pink outfit? For 150 coins as well, but if you do a bad pick you'd gain less. Like 75 for a bad one and 30 for the worst one? Or something. Those are just ideas, but to sum up I don't see myself playing more than 20 chapters doing the same easy game for too many times. Or even if it's not an easy one, I still don't see myself doing it over and over again.

2.

Hmm, that's it for the selling game. Now concerning something totally different I noticed or precisely didn't notice? I don't know if I just didn't see the right button or if there really is a small problem. First, while making a new game, we can't skip the intro? I wasn't able to do so at least. Also, we're asked if we want to continue off from the last beta. However, if we agree and then finish all the available chapters, we're asked if we want to do the other character's route as well. But if we agree again, it'll start the story from the 1st chapter? To be honest, after finishing Neil's, I got too lazy to start Dimitri since first chapter so I just closed the game and made a new game again, but this time picked Dimitri to continue after chapter 3. Thus, I haven't saved any game file to be honest. Then, I'm wondering if for the next release we'll have to download the game again? Or will we be able to simply update it and keep our files (for clothes specifically)? If it'll be saved, then I guess I'll have to try to save money to buy items. If it won't be saved, then I'll wait for the next release and never buy any clothes until the complete game lolol

Oh and talking about clothes... It's too bad that there's no preview in the shop? Or I didn't catch the preview button then. As the prices are pretty high to be honest, I don't see myself wasting all my money on an item I don't really like in the end. If you buy a clothe item you don't really like, at least you can try to customize it to make it better looking. However, if you buy a hair you don't like... It's like 5K wasted? I think the new long hair released (with the bangs) costs 5000 if I remember well? Which is very expensive especially if I don't like it. If I do my math correctly, it's like selling 34 clothes;;;

3.

Then finally about the story itself! As said previously, you're being reaaally unfair with Neil! When MC invited him over and he agreed I was like "OMG IS IT GONNA HAPPEN THIS TIME??" and then, well, no. If it were me, I wouldn't have let him go at all lol! Aaah so frustrating! But I really liked it tho! His moaning also caught me off guard this time again. I mean, I never really expect to hear him moan for real haha. But it sets the mood real good! I also enjoyed looking at the new bakcgrounds haha.

On the other hand, Dimitri's was very cute and much more innocent. I had a smile on my face! Tho' I'm wondering when will you be unleashing the beast? /shots
Another disappoitment on this chapter as well tho! I have to wait for the next release to know what his idea is! I'm expecting him to prostitute himself  act like some kind of hot guy making advertisement in front of the shop? LOL. But then again maybe I read too many shoujos with bishounen using their beauty to sell off stuff haha

AND SOOO I WAS ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT ABS-THING!! To be real honest, I was thinking of some real weird situation. Like, Dimitri becoming crazy and showing his abs? MC becoming some kind of pervert as well. lololol
You made me think of crazy stuff, I still liked it! Tho, if it were me, I would have looked away haha. Just like a 2nd Dimitri bruh

Anyway this feedback came out longer than expected lol! But in my defense, my Wordpress still is a shoujo-review blog. So it can't be helped riiight! Sigh. Another months to wait for the next release! So sad! I almost want to hack into your computer to view your script files and read the WIP stories /shots

Developer

Hey before everything else; you can jump to any chapter you'd like by going to settings and clicking Chapters, this way you could have jumped to Dimitri's latest chapter, or vice versa :) only works for chapters you've unlocked though! Which, if you said 'yes', would have unlocked them for you.

I wanted to force the player to see the intro - which is a one-time thing only anyway. I didn't count on people starting a new game haha.

The minigame of is set up in a way that you can easily breeze through chapters if that's the only thing you're interested in. It becomes harder the more items you buy. Considering you didn't buy anything, it is pretty darn boring, yes :) It should also scale, the more you make, the more gold you earn. I believe you stopped pretty early so you didn't see the increase in gold. Someone else managed to score a nice 70,000 gold, sheesh. I actually lowered the amount of gold you'd earn based on exp, since it was a liiiittle too easy.

Do you remember doing anything special before trying out Neil's chapters 21+ due to it not costing any gold to proceed? I can't seem to replicate the bug.

I will see about a preview in the shop, but don't count on it, I'll have to pay my programmer money to change it, and he's out of commission at the moment.

Any beta version means the next one won't work with your old save file. Not until I can finally call it a 'demo', at which point I will stop changing around core mechanics of the game and your old save file will work. Beta versions will be drastically different each time, so old save files will not work.

Unfortunately, nothing is going to happen between the MC and any of the guys. Rating and all! However, I may release some 18+ stories in the future :) As for Dimitri ... for some reason, his next 3 CGs are all of him basically shirtless/naked haha. I think I enjoy torturing him a bit too much. His route won't be as steamy as Neil's will, but I've definitely included at least one!

I'm happy you liked the moan sfx XD picking out which soundbite they should use for each line is pretty fun.

Next update shouldn't take as long as the previous one, considering I took a long break last time. And now most of the technical stuff is finished. I'm going to re-haul the main menu for the next update, and see if I can include Dimitri's chapters up till chapter 10. Neil's passionate ending is finished, but his innocent ending still needs to be written and I'm having a bit of trouble with it. No worries though, I'll manage :)

Before I get started, a possible bug:  The CGs all ignored my appearance choices and showed MC as brown haired instead.

Questionnaire for those that have played beta 1.3:
1. What is your gender and age?  34/f

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?  probably lemmasoft

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?  I like the art.  I'm not sure what that's worth though, as I tend to prefer art that's interesting or unique to the standard anime look most seem to like.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?  ugh, don't make me choose!  I suppose Neil, but honestly that might only be because more of his route is finished (and full of making out) so I got more attached.  I love both him and Dimitri.

5. What's your favourite scene?  Neil- Countertop scene, Dimitri- making him blush while he's making dinner

6. What's your favourite CG?  Countertop!  ...or the awkward selfie, that was hilarious

7. Which character would you like to be available next?  I'm excited for whoever's next!  I didn't expect to like either Neil or Dimitri, so I don't think I can predict whose routes I'll enjoy.  Appearance wise I would choose James.

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?  Previously I'd played as mostly kind, but I forget the exact numbers.  This time I decided to go full on fierce (and I had so much fun!) so I got allll the fierce points in both routes.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?  4040 tailoring experience, 4900 gold left over, but I unlocked a LOT.

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?  Purchasing chapters was easy, but unlocking the items got a little frustrating.  The costs were mostly okay, but buying all the little items individually got tedious.  I wonder if you would consider putting colors, details, and patterns into various packs that would allow us to purchase 3-5 at a time?  Maybe a small sale section with little bundles each week?  I realize that's probably a lot of work, but that was my only complaint so I thought I'd mention it!

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients? I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela's dress, or the opera dress.  I think it was the correct amount of difficulty.  I got the colors a little wrong sometimes and had to work to figure out the correct lace pattern, but it was a fun challenge.  I wish there were more of those!  And it was really fun seeing the finished special dresses, they were beautiful!

12. Favourite aspect of the game?  I really love games that balance minigames with story and I think you've done a good job with that.  I like that it costs money now to unlock the next portion of story because it gives the clothing creation more purpose.  I also like all the blushing.  Being able to fluster the guys is super fun.  I guess my very favorite aspect would have to be the dramatic tension you've built up.  Dimitri's is only just starting, but Neil's story had me on the edge of my seat sometimes.  I might explode if they don't get closure soon.  No pressure.  Just saying.

I had a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing more!

Developer

Oh no, the CGs didn't correctly display your chosen colours that you picked at the start? It doesn't reflect your current avatar; only the choices you made at the start are the colours that it will show in the CG. I will check my code to see what got messed up. In the next update you should be able to change your real appearance that affects the CGs, right now you can only do so in the beginning.

I was thinking about adding bundles, I'll just have to figure out how to set them up. Perhaps they could be rewards for completing important clients. I'm happy to hear you liked the important clients and the challenge they represented. Maybe you're right; I should add more of them (currently there's only 3 in Neil's route, 0 in Dimitri's). I was a bit worried people would get frustrated trying to re-create them when it would use items they didn't own.

Oh here's a quick tip; most colours are grouped. So if the client wants a dark red dress, any type of red will pass :) This speeds things up (also, I made this so people who can't tell colours apart all that easily would still be able to finish them).

So you had fun picking all of the fierce options this time huh ;) I recommend everyone to try it at least once, you get to tease the boys and make them blush, who doesn't want that? Hehe. I had a bit too much fun torturing Dimitri though, poor thing has way too many scenes coming up where he gets straight out embarrassed.

I can understand being more attached to Neil. After all, Neil's route is currently at 66k words, and Dimitri at about 21k. Eventually Dimitri will catch up! Interesting to see that you weren't that interested in both Neil and Dimitri but wound up liking them. Anything in particular that changed your mind?

Nope, the CGs definitely didn't use my original color choices, sorry!  I'm excited that soon they'll reflect my changed appearances, I love giving my MC fun colored hair.

Ooh, bundles as rewards would be a lot of fun.  I like that idea.  I think designing something specific was more interesting than just fullfilling the random designs.  It's more fun to me to make something pretty.  And with the bundles as a prize, the challenge might feel worth it for people who struggle.  You could also consider making the non-major-plot items skippable like anything else.

I had no idea the colors were grouped!  I was painstakingly matching exact colors.  Ha, I might still do so, I think I liked it.  But at least I know that I don't have to in case I get frustrated.

Now that I've gone fierce, I don't know if I can go back!  I probably wont pick ALL fierce next time, but they were soooo funn!  Actually. poor Dimitri may never see a single kind option, he's a delight to tease.  At least he seems to like it!

Specific spoilers, ahoy!~

I think I was initially put off by my expectations based on their descriptions.  I guess I was expecting a sweet childhood friend route from Neil and a more sibling-esque route from Dimitri.  I figured that Neil would start off all cold and ice prince, and wasn't expecting that he'd be hilariously awkward and sadly overstressed.  The flailing humanized him quite a bit and the moments of sweetness were just enough to show depth.  I didn't expect him to be funny!  Then I was expecting Dimitri's route to be pure innocence (not my thing), and instead I've been gleefully tormenting him into blushing (my very favorite thing).  I think it's more that I've come to expect certain things from certain descriptions for attainable characters in otome games.  So I was expecting fluffy tropes, and instead I got fully fleshed out adult characters.  I'm very pleased to have been wrong!

I hope this helps.  If you'd like more feedback, you have but to ask- I'm very happy to oblige!

Developer

Ok, I found the error in my code and fixed it. The new build should now working colours for the CGs. Sadly that means you'd have to re-download the game and start from the beginning once more to get them to work. Sorry that you couldn't play it with your chosen colours :(

Yep I didn't mention colours were grouped because it was sort of hidden feature, so people would try their best to match a specific colour :p

Ahh you're going to love Dimitri's next chapter (7, comes with a cute CG), you can tease him twice! Probably one of my favourite scenes ahaha. I'm pretty sure there's an opportunity to make him blush in every single chapter. Making the guy flustered is such a missing element in otome games, and I'm always pretty bummed out that only the MC ever really gets flustered in those games.

I'll admit; the short descriptions of their characters and routes don't do them justice and are a little misleading. I wanted to let the player know what kind of 'type' they were picking at a superficial level.  I may let the player read the first chapter to try them out in the next update, so they get a better feel of them. After all, Neil is not your devoted childhood friend you see in otome games. Neither is Dimitri some sweet and hopelessly naive kid who cries all the time because he's the 'younger' type.

But I'm very happy to hear you say they're fleshed out! The characters all start out as a stereotype (so the player has an easier time picking which one they want to read), but I try to make them more realistic. And awkward. I love awkward. You're going to love Aiden's route if you like to bully them. I should really write Aiden's first chapter so I can start adding him, hah.

Thank you for your praise, I'm all gleeful that people enjoy my characters.

Yay, I'll re-download!  ...After I take a few pictures of my favorite designs.  It's not a big deal, I'm used to beta testing. ^^

It was kind of fun to go in expecting one thing and get something a bit different, I enjoyed the surprise aspect.

AHHHH, I can't wait for chapter 7 then!  I never thought about it in those terms before (probably because most games don't let me act on those urges), but I am absolutely an otome bully.  Awkward guys are the best. <3  I would like to officially change my vote for next guy to Aiden please!

And you're very welcome, it's praise well deserved!

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah beta tests in my game means the next update won't be compatible with your previous save file. However, I'm working hard towards a feasible 'demo' build, which will mean you can carry over your old save files.

Of course, a demo build would be when all mechanics are finalized, and I'll only be updating the game with more story/clothing.

To tease you about Aiden, here's a little excerpt of his story:

“Let's go to a karaoke box to talk,"  I say.

“... Isn't that defeating its purpose? Aren't you supposed to sing at such a venture?”

I groan out loud in frustration. “I don't care! I just want to talk to you in private, unless you want me to start airing your dirty laundry right here on the street.”

Aiden fans out his fingers and holds out his hands in front of me. “No!” he yells. “Definitely not!”

“Then let's go.”

“B-b-b-but … you, with me, in tiny box. Cramped. No space,” Aiden quickly lists off. “Panic. Help.”

“Let's not blow this out of proportion ...”

“The proportion of the box isn't big enough!!”

“Aiden, shut up and come with me!” I snap at him.

Aiden's eyes grow wide. “Yes Ma'am,” he says obediently.

Oh no.  I think I love him a little already!  Thank you for the sneak peak, I'm grinning from ear to ear now.  I don't suppose that my enthusiasm has convinced you to work on his route next? *eyebrow waggle*  Also I just realized that I missed that it says Aiden is flustered in the trailer, as a main personality feature.  I should pay more attention.

I can't wait to boss him around~

Developer

Bossing him around is pretty much the entire route, it should be fun ~

Aiden is most likely the next possible candidate to be added, due to him having a finished outline. All I need to do is write the drafts :) but I also realize he's the least popular guy, hah. Poor thing. It's my favourite route to write.

Yay!  Well, at least he's got one excited fan already.  And who knows?  Pretty much every other otome game out there puts players in the more submissive role, even the ones with interesting MCs.  Some of the best put us in a position of equality, which is nice, but it's almost unheard of to get to play the dominant role.  I'm sure he'll gain fans once they get to know him (and their inner bully wakes up~).

Developer

I don't recall any otome game in which you can be the dominant one and pick on guys/argue back with them.

Closest one I can think of is Toma's route in Irresistible Mistakes in which the MC will bicker with him and even call him names. They're equals though, she clearly never has the upper hand. I heard good things about Sweet Fuse but never played it.

I hate being forced into a submissive role with no agency of my own, so of course I'll try to write my own MC in such a way that she can take control of the situation and not let things unfold in front of her eyes. And of course, she's not the one who gets flustered, but the guys instead (why would I want to read about how the MC gets flustered?). That's not to say my MC doesn't get flustered at all, she does, but she can flirt and tease the guys, which is like, never an option in otome games.

(2 edits)

1. What is your gender and age?
Female and 16.
2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?
....I'm not sure? Maybe through Lemmasoft forums, or through scrolling through itch.io? :I

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

I like it!
4. Which (available) character is your favourite?
Dimitri so far.

5. What’s your favourite scene?
Dimitri comforting the MC, but Neil's masquerade ball's mirrors scene is a close second.

6. What’s your favourite CG?
It's a three-way between the derpy photo, Neil being smug in the mall and Dimitri with the cat.

7. Which character would you like to be available next?
Aiden or Sam!

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?
I don't really remember, but I think it was slightly more kind points than fierce points.
9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?
5500 gold and 2000 experience (though I did buy quite a bit....)
10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?
Not really! Besides, I had a lot of fun
11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?
I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.
I tried going back and making them(since I skipped all that at the beginning) but I technically already had them done so I didn't get the chance to remake them :(
12. Favourite aspect of the game?
I really love the whole designing clothes for clients!

A couple other things-
The game ignored my choices for the CGs as well, despite choosing black hair at the beginning it still showed brown.
Neil's chapters 21+ didn't cost anything for me either, but Dimitri's new chapters cost me like usual.
When designing clothes for clients, sometimes they want the rainbow pattern but coloured, but it doesn't look much different from the base so it can be frustrating to try and get it right.
Also, Dimitri called me Joselina again in one of the chapters, though I can't remember which...

Developer

Good point about the rainbow pattern! I shall exclude it from the clients completely.

I checked why Neil's chapters weren't costing anything, and I realized that if you said you played the previous beta, I kind of gifted all of his chapters to you for free, hah. Got it fixed, thanks! I think the part where Joselina's name pops up was said by Sarah, which I've already fixed as well :)

Thank you so much for playing, and I'm happy to see Dimitri gaining a steady fanbase <3

If you want to design for the important clients, you could replay the game from the start, and not say you've played the previous beta. Then you'll get to design for them :) I will try and add more in the next update, since someone else said they liked doing these more than the randomized ones.

(1 edit)

Well, I think I'm not quite in your target demographic, but I'm still really enjoying your game so far, fyi.

I have noticed some annoying bits with the tailoring system, where it seems like I've replicated the outfit perfectly, but it still wont accept it.

1. What is your gender and age? I am a 30 year old man.
2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?  I found Tailor Tales a while ago while browsing itch.io.  It's come a long way since then!
3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?  I really enjoy the art in this game, it's very well done.  (As is the character design.)
4. Which (available) character is your favourite? By "available" I'm assuming you mean the romantic objects.  I'm still a Neil fan, but Dimitri is starting to warm up to me.  (I'm also a big fan of Sarah and Angela as side characters, but that's not what you asked. ;))
5. What's your favourite scene? All of the ones that give me options to slap people. :D  Joking aside, I enjoyed a lot of the scenes.  My favorite is probably a toss up between Neil and Joselina as kids, and her discovering his identity at the ball.  (A close second being a tie between the discussing wedding details with Neil's mother, and Dimitri cooking for Sarah and Joselina.)

6. What's your favourite CG? Neil hiding in the coffee shop, and the embarrassing selfie.
7. Which character would you like to be available next? James, probably.
8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route? Neil's route, I had a just a couple more kind points than fierce.  Dimitri's route, just a couple more fierce than kind. (Not that Dimitri's is that long yet.)  I don't remember the specific numbers, because I played through last night, and wasn't paying attention at the time.
9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end? 1100 Gold and 4470 Tailoring EXP.
10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?  Purchasing the chapters was pretty easy until I finished Neil's story and cycled into Dimitri's, then it got annoying.  I had the thought that it would be nice if the amount of gold you got was in any way related to how complex the outfit you were making was.  Like, if the more complicated outfits were worth more, since they take more time to put together correctly.  That might be overly complicated to program though.
11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients? I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela's dress, or the opera dress.
The masquerade dress was a bit challenging just because it was hard to tell from the swatches which colors and patterns were used, specifically.  Not that bad though.
12. Favourite aspect of the game?  I like how the designer aspect is integrated with the story aspect, and I like how the choices shape the flavor of the relationship between the protagonist and the romantic options.  (And I like how options feel significant, even though there's not really any "wrong" answer.)
13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?  I like her, she's very well written, and I never feel forced into an action or path that I'm not comfortable with. (which is sometimes a thing in these type of games.)  I think the fierce vs kind reaction dynamic works very nicely for storytelling and characterization purposes.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Your review is really helpful to me because you played from the beginning (unlike most people who returned), so you're able to tell me whether or not earning gold was too easy/hard. I've adjusted the numbers a bit based on your review, so that as soon as you switch characters, the chapters' costs won't skyrocket.

The client system scales with difficulty based on how many items of clothing you've purchased. So the more you have available to create clothing with, the more complex designs that can show up. It should balance itself out with the experience you earn though. The more experience you have, the higher amount of gold you'll receive from each client. I may have lowered it too much for you to feel like it wasn't enough. I'll tweak it again :)

I'm glad you enjoyed your playthrough and that you've been following my progress! I'm very happy with how far I've come along as well.

Well, I'm glad you appreciated my feedback.

I think I like the idea of scaling income with design because it encourages people to take on the more challenging designs, and also encourages people in investing more money into more features.  (Rather than just having more pieces to play with.  I know I avoided some purchases I would have liked  just to simplify the process of farming money for advancing the plot.)  On the other hand, it is nicely simple as it currently is too.  If you tweaked the gold amount needed, that probably already helps plenty. :)

Looking forward to the following chapters.

Developer

Actually, I did it exactly because of that; for those that want to advance the plot and don't care for the clothing aspect, they simply do not buy more parts and thus can speed through the clients faster. For those that are into the clothes, it becomes more challenging for them because they're buying more parts.

I didn't want people who are only there for the story to have to grind very hard to progress :)

But yeah, I'm definitely tweaking the gold again!

I also have been having some issues with the tailoring part- I'll match up everything like the result should look like, yet it doesn't work. It'll work for the first three uncomplicated assignments (simple shirts, shorts, skirts, etc), but will refuse or accept randomly dresses and any piece after number 4. To get enough coins, I have to wait a bit, and then it starts over again. Any way that you could fix this, Celianna?

1. What is your gender and age?

I'm female and 45 years old.

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

Through browsing itch.io for visual novels and otome games.  I actually played some of the earlier betas but this is the first time I've given feedback.  I also follow games through the lemma soft forums.

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

I really liked the art style, straight away.  I'm glad it's not too anime and I really like being able to change the appearance of the MC, although I wish there were more short hair options.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

I've really enjoyed Neil's route as it has developed through the various beta's but I think Dimitri's route has just nudged ahead as a favourite.

5. What’s your favourite scene?

The heavy make out session with Neil on the counter in the shop.  Wow, that guy can kiss! You write smut well and I hope you seriously consider writing in some optional sex scenes.

6. What’s your favourite CG?

It's a tie for Dimitri with the cat and Neil and the MC's derpy selfie.  On that note the MC's skin, hair and eye colour are now showing up correctly in the CGs featuring her.

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

I used to think that I wanted James next but your little snippets of information about some of the characters has put me firmly into the Aiden camp for the next, available route.

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

Neil - 31 fierce points and 2 kind points.(I couldn't help myself but be argumentative and aggressive with Neil and it was fun having these options available.  Also I was amused that while the MC was thinking that she regretted being unkind to Neil during the ball, all I could think was 'hell no!' and 'I regret nothing'.)    Dimitri - 9 fierce points and 0 kind points (He's just too fun to tease!)

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

56270 gold and 6280 experience.  I did a lot of designing early while the design requests were simple to build up the gold and exp.

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

It was relatively easy, although kind of grindy and boring after a while.  Also I didn't buy any new colours and patterns until I absolutely had to, in order to keep the difficulty down which meant the clothes I designed for my MC were rather uninteresting and samey.  I'd love more pants options or even a chance to make suits (with trousers).

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?

The masquerade dress was the hardest for me as trying to find the right patterns just by looking at the swatches in store was really difficult.  I found that I had to buy some of the patterns and then try them on some clothing to see them correctly.  A bit of frustrating trial and error.  I did enjoy making the special commissioned pieces though and it was wonderful to see the masquerade dress after all this time.  There was an error in the dialogue with Angela about her dress though.  Angela's dress is a goldy/yellow colour but it's referred to as being red.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

The romance!  Also, I really enjoyed all the story parts about running a small business and interacting with Sarah.  She's a great character.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I liked her a lot.  It was a breath of fresh air to play an adult character who was also a  creative, career woman.  I liked that she could be bold and decisive and wasn't shy and  blushing all the time as so many female MC's are.

My only disappointment was when she seemed embarrassed about being a tomboy, I wish there had been an option to be happy about not conforming to gender stereotypes.

Developer

Thanks you so much for playing and leaving behind feedback! It always helps me out <3

From the gist of it, you seem to have figured out grinding early is key to get easy money, haha. Since everyone else seemed to enjoy making the important clients, I shall add more of them, so that the grind doesn't become too boring. I was only adding them whenever it was convenient to the plot, but I can't always rely on the plot!

More hair options, as well as more pant and jacket options will be added in the future. Right now I'm more focused on getting the story out and have everything else working before I add more details. It's the bare necessities at the moment hehe.

You write smut well and I hope you seriously consider writing in some optional sex scenes.
Thanks! It's so hard not to cross the 16+ rating with these scenes. Hence why it always stops not because the characters want to, but because of some other external interruption. In the future, I will (probably) add in the option to donate some money to unlock an 18+ version of the game, where these scenes don't stop pre-maturely, and write full on smut.

Dimitri - 9 fierce points and 0 kind points (He's just too fun to tease!)
He is, isn't he? You're going to love the next update then, so many good moments to tease poor Dimitri, including a cliche moment located in the bathroom (who doesn't love cliched tropes!?). Seems I've turned another person into a Dimitri fan! Most people are pleasantly surprised to see they end up liking Dimitri :D

1. What is your gender and age?

I'm female and 16.

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

MeliZbeauty on Youtube.

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

Yes, I like the art! (I'm a fan of anime/manga art styles in general)

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

Dimitri is my favorite so far. Based on character descriptions, I actually thought I would like Neil more so I played him first (I like tsunderes ahaha). Instead, besides the flashback, I ended up not liking him until the events of the masquerade ball. He was straight up rude from the very first encounter in the cafe, and his unpleasant attitude only became more apparent as I read more chapters... Until the ball, which I'll talk about later. Since then interactions with him became a lot more fun, partly because of his awkwardness, and I started to enjoy the bickering, especially when I could make him blush (; Neil's character has made some great progress throughout the chapters and he's grown on me (even though he still hasn't told MC that he loves her and they aren't even an official couple after 25 chapters as;ldkfjafds). Actually, if you play Dimitri's route first, Neil might not even be that bad in the beginning because he's a saint compared to Alex. Anyways, unlike Neil, Dimitri immediately grew on me; he's really sweet and mature (more so than Neil in the beginning even though he's five years older than Dimitri) and he COOKS, which makes him total waifu husband material. I'm sure Dimitri's childish side will come out eventually, since his young age is made to be a part of the story, but even then I think I'll probably still like him more than Neil.

5. What’s your favourite scene?

I know I said that Dimitri is my favorite but the masquerade ball with Neil wins hands down for best scene. The concept of the ball is already alluring on its own, but the real appeal of this scene is that Neil is actually being a gentleman to the MC instead of a jerk, and its great. He becomes much more humane and likable in contrast to the rude, abrasive Neil from the beginning. He also got a better hairdo //shot To make things even better, the Neil's dialogue throughout the ball and the romantic make out scene are both extremely well written, perhaps even some of the best written parts of the game so far. There's also some dramatic irony in which the player (or at least me) figures out that Neil is the mysterious gentleman long before MC does, which was rather entertaining. As I mentioned above, the masquerade ball is what made me start to fall for Neil even though I initially disliked him, because that's how great the scene was.

6. What’s your favourite CG?

Either the counter-top kiss, which is the most beautiful cg so far, or the selfie with Neil's derp face, because that one's just hilarious.

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

James or Aiden!

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

For Dimitri I got, 7 fierce and 2 kind points, just because he's so fun to tease. I forgot what I had for Neil, but it was more fierce points for sure because I definitely told him off every time he was being a jerk and I maaay have taken every chance to make out with him ^^; I'm not going for the passionate endings or anything, I just answered honestly and most of those answers happened to be the fierce ones.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

46150 gold and 5030 exp.

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

Pretty easy! I know that buying more clothing makes it harder, and I definitely bought a lot, but I actually think that it makes the process more fun and less tedious. Anyone would get tired of making the same basic shirt all day, but since I had so many clothing styles/colors/patterns, clients would give interesting, albeit hideous, requests that gave me a good laugh and prevented gold grinding from getting boring. That being said, I did kind of have a problem with the sparkle pattern. You need this pattern for the masquerade dress, so I had to buy it. It's really small and hard to see, especially when there's like one minuscule sparkle on a sleeve, and when you buy a bunch of similar colors like me, the sparkles get difficult to match to a clients request.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients? I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

It was okay overall, but I did have a hard time finding the right lace for the masquerade ball dress. I bought three different ones before I got the right one ._. And that dress made me go broke..

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

The romance scenes are great. I also really like the concept of designing clothes for gold, which is then used to unlock stories. The process ties in perfectly with the MC, who owns a boutique, and its much less aggravating than a time-based system or something similar.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I had a lot of fun playing as Joselina! I never had a moment where I found her actions insufferable, and I love that she has a backbone and isn't completely dense. She's a strong, independent woman who don't need no man, but she'll get a man anyways (;

Extra notes:

I hope that we will get to do more story-based clothing designs in the future. It's a fun minigame even though the ball dress made me go broke ahaha.

The small previews of the CGs don't show character customization. It doesn't really bother me since the actual CGs do show the customizations when you click on them, but it's just something I noticed.

Clothing previews in the shop would be nice.

This is the first otome game that I've ever played, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love that you can answer with anything you want and still get a good ending; the reason I've never played an otome game is because I'd hate having to act out of my character to get a guy, but that's not a problem here. You've done an amazing job on this game and I'm looking forward to version 1.4!

Developer

I'm sorry you lost your progress from before!

Congrats on playing your first otome game though - welcome to the world of cute guys and being able to romance them :)

I remember telling people in the beginning, that if you hate Neil, try and get past chapter 12, and if you still haven't changed your mind about him, then you won't like him, ever. In your case, you did change your mind :D It was the first chapter I wrote of Neil's story! He's a pretty rude jerk in the beginning, but he gets better, especially after chapter 24. Also, he's a lot more tolerable if you select the first option - but anyone is free to pick whatever they'd like!

Welcome to the Dimitri fanclub though <3 he's husband material. The sweetest, really. Hopefully you'll find a favourite scene for him as well, just like Neil. Every character should have an event like Neil's does, in which the MC and the guy go somewhere together and have a magical romantic eventful day. For Neil, this was the masquerade, for Dimitri, my lips are sealed!

Thank you so much for playing and leaving feedback. I'll definitely remove the sparkles from the random clients (I swear I already did this, but apparently forgot). The small CGs not reflecting the different skin/hair colours of the MC is correct - this is mostly to save on processing power. Imagine having 10 large images, condensed to a small thumbnail, which then also each have like 5+ layers - the FPS would drop by quite a lot. So I compromised, and just showed the original image as a small thumbnail.

A preview in the store is something I'll consider, though that would mean I need to spend more money on my programmer again to change things around.

Glad to see you enjoy the option of being fierce or kind so you aren't stuck with an MC that has to pigeon hole herself into the ideal person for the guy to like her. You can be whatever you want to be.

1. What is your gender and age

I am a 23 year old female.

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

I found out about this wonderful game through MeliZbeauty on YouTube.

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

I love the art style.  I found it very eye-catching and beautiful.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

I LOVE Neil so far.   I've always liked his character type and I think he goes through some terrific character development.  He's really come a long way from the snobbish asshole he was in the beginning of his route.  I really like his chemistry with the MC as well.

5. What’s your favourite scene?

The counter top make-out scene for sure!  It was really steamy and I loved it.  It really put me in the moment.

6. What’s your favourite CG?

I really loved the selfie CGs with Neil.  I found the pair of them to be cute and funny.  Neil's facial expressions were golden!  That scene overall was adorable and I liked the interactions between the MC and Neil.  I really want them to admit they love each other already!  They're just so cute together!

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

Looking at the other character profiles, I'm really looking forward to Sam.  He sounds sweet and interesting.  I'm really looking forward to learning the backstory to that route.

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

For Neil, I ended up with 10 fierce points and 23 kind points.  For Dimitri, I ended up with 2 fierce points and 7 kind points.  I really tried to answer with how I personally handle each situation.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

After finishing what's available in the game, I ended up with 560 gold and 3800 tailor points.

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

For the most part, it was easy.  Although, there were times where I felt like the outfit I was working on matched what the client wanted exactly, but the game would still say I was missing something.  If possible, maybe a hint option could be available or a zooming feature.  I don't have the greatest eye-sight, so maybe I was missing very small details.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients? I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

I wouldn't say that re-creating these dresses were difficult, but they were time-consuming.  I found the masquerade dress the most frustrating, because it took me a while to find the right lace pattern.  I wish there was a way to preview items before actually buying them, because I found myself wasting time and IG currency.  Although, on the bright side, buying the wrong patterns for the masquerade dress did make it easier for me to re-create Angela's dress, because by the time I got to her dress I basically owned everything I needed to re-create it.  Out of the three dresses, the opera dress was definitely the easiest.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

I found this game to be quite addicting.  Every time I would finish a chapter, I would immediately want to read the next one.  Even when I wasn't playing, I would still think about the story.  It was very engaging.  I was hooked really fast and am really looking forward to more awesome content in the future.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I really liked Joselina, for the most part.  She's got a strong personality, which is a breath of fresh air, since most heroines in otome games are either really bland or complete doormats.  She's neither and I love her for that.  Although, there were times where she and I didn't really see eye to eye.  For example, when she figures out it's Neil she's been making out with at the masquerade ball the two options are Yell at him or Slap him.  I'd personally do neither and just run away embarrassed.  I'll just chalk that up to differing personalities, because Joselina is more straight-forward and brutally honest than I could ever be.  Overall, I think she's a great character.

Additional Info

I found a bug when looking through Neil's CG gallery when finishing the game.  Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'width' of null.  It happened when looking at his 6th CG (the one at the mall).  It made the game freeze, so I had to exit and reload it.

Developer

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this long post <3

The error you mentioned is something I already know of - the pictures on the screen are erasing too fast, which seems to be a core bug in the engine itself, but it'll hopefully be fixed in the next update. The fact you couldn't complete certain clients is an actual bug - it's not just your eyesight. This will be fixed in the next update! :)

Happy to hear people really like Neil's derpy expression in the selfie CGs. When it comes to Neil, I never really make him appear 'cool' in his CGs, I always want to catch him off guard. He's either surprised, embarrassed - possibly both - or he shows a side of him that's quite rare (him smiling). I find showing the awkward side of Neil is a lot more fun, and realistic as well, than just making him appear like the coolest tsundere on earth.

His ending CGs are basically me having fun with torturing him and making him completely embarrassed. But you'll get to see those in the next update ;)

About chapter 12 - when I tested it out with a bunch of friends, they all wanted to punch him. Originally the "yell at him" option was the Fierce option, but I moved it to the Kind option when I added in the slap. I realize this was perhaps the wrong move, so I've changed it to something more mellow for in the next update.

As for Sam, while he's sweet, Dimitri would be the sweetest of them all - in case that's your thing, hah. Sam is a little bit more complicated, and he can be quite vicious as well, but he should always have your best interests at heart. Unfortunately, he'd be the 5th bachelor I'd add (right after Aiden).

Again, thanks for your feedback!

For those that have played the beta, here are some questions:

1. What is your gender and age? Female, 20

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales? Here on itch,io

 3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing? It is admittedly different, but as I played the game I had no issue with it.

 4. Which (available) character is your favourite? Neil, most likely because he has the most story available.

 5. What's your favourite scene? Hmm, not quite sure honestly.

6. What's your favourite CG?

7. Which character would you like to be available next? James or Caine.

 8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route? I had an innocent ending, leaning towards more kind points than fierce.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

 10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients? I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela's dress, or the opera dress.

 12. Favourite aspect of the game? The story. The design/dress up part is fun of course, but sometimes I wouldn't design anything between chapters.

 13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC? I like her. She's a bit naive but I do like the fact you can somewhat form your own personality instead of being one or the other/a pre-determined person.

Developer

Thank you for playing and giving your feedback! :D

1. What is your gender and age? 22, F

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales? - I actually first knew of this project back on lemma forums. When I found it here on itch, I could not believe they were the same project :D. The game has come a long way, hasn't it !

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?  - I really like the art style and the whole slice-of -life atmosphere it conjures. The backgrounds are simple yet look perfect with the character designs.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?  -  Dimitri, he's just such a sweetheart.

5. What’s your favourite scene?  -  Oh man, I would go with the opera and dinner moment  with Angela putting her' parents will meet  the fiancee' plan in action. It was hilarious.
6. What’s your favourite CG?  - The one with Dimitri and the tabby cat <3.

7. Which character would you like to be available next?  - Caine  or Aiden ! Judging from the descriptions their interactions with the MC must be hella fun to read, lol.

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?  -  Can't remember the number, but with Dimitri  the majority were fierce points, while  with Neil mostly kind points with some fierce points. I took the fierce responses when there was teasing involved.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end? - Sorry! can't really remember the numbers.
10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy? - It was easy.
11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?  - None at all.
I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.
12. Favourite aspect of the game?  - The fierce/kind response system is impressive, reminds me a bit of the renegade/paragon dialogue choices from Mass Effect. - I love the the writing. The characters have lovely personalities and the writing just clicks with them; MC included.
13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC? - I  dig playing as her. She comes off as being both likable and relatable.

Thank you for this lovely experience!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

Aha, so you know Tailor Tales from way back then, it has definitely changed a lot :) but it's for the best, I've got an actual working game people can play right now, and Neil's route will be finished in the next update. I could have never achieved something like this in the previous version.

It's funny you've got more fierce points on Dimitri - he's loads of fun to tease, isn't he? :D

Thank you for the compliment on the writing! Getting to write two different responses when it comes to the fierce/kind options is always pretty fun to do. Some choices can present a fierce/kind scene of up to 1k words! Of course, in-game you wouldn't be able to tell.

I hope you'll play the next update as well! Maybe you'll get a new favourite CG then, considering Dimitri is due for another CG.

The game is being very neatly developed , in spite of the major changes it went through. Oh, I will  definitely follow its  progress and try out the updates ! I did got the feeling that you've put a lot of thought and  love in the writing, so I'm really glad to see that you're also enjoy making it complex. The MC merciless teasing Dimitri and him actually liking is truly adorable; I admit it, I am weak, haha (:'> . Keep up the superb work !

Thank you for your feedback!

You said the intro was buggy, please help me out by letting me know what happened! The intro is non-skippable because I want to force players to go through the tutorial and because you're only supposed to see the intro once anyways. Not 5 times. So please let me know what happened, if you crashed, at what point it crashed, if it told you an error etc.

The client matching game is permanent and not going away anytime soon, it's pretty much finalized, but thank you for your opinion anyway :) you get more money the more experience you have though, so eventually you should be getting lots of money for chapters simply by completing a couple of clients.

If any of the clothing items were impossible to create because you couldn't see what colour they were (like the sparkles pattern), please tell me, because I can exclude them from being generated.

> Obviously it's hard to choose a character, since the only character we've had a chance to get to know is Neil.
But Dimitri is available too :o you can switch characters by clicking the Character icon in the menu, then selecting Dimitri and read his story.

Tailor Tales started way back in 2009, and this is the third reboot in RPG Maker MV, so no, your mind isn't playing tricks on you ;)

You'll probably be happy to know I intend to release a (paid) version of Tailor Tales, which removes all restrictions so you don't need to earn gold to read the chapters, you can read them all in one go. Also all the clothing parts are available to you. This version is mostly for the people that want to support me into making this game.

Ah you're playing Mac, yeah, you're going to run into buggy things because the game needs permission to over-write files (which is what happens when you create your character), and Mac seems to be very averse to that. I'm glad you found a solution to it though. Do you think you can write out the steps you've done to get the game to work so I can let other Mac users know?

I'll give you a tip with matching; colours are grouped. You don't need to match the exact colour, as long as it's in the same group. So all yellows, reds, oranges, blues, greens etc. are all grouped and will work. So it doesn't matter if it's a light yellow colour or a dark yellow colour that you pick, both should work :) This should make things easier.

1--Female, 18

2--Youtube, MeliZbeauty (saw you there, too)

3--The art style is fairly appealing, though I wish the lines on the throat were less pronounced and did not actually attach to the collarbone but alluded to doing so instead.

4--Dimitri is probably my favorite, by a slim margin. Neil had some pretty hilarious moments.

5--Second scene with Dimitri, in the store first chapter when he finally cleans his glasses. I can understand all of the embarrassment, and it had me rolling in laughter.

6--The CG where the MC takes a picture with herself and Neil and his face is utterly un-photogenic. Again, laughter. I like laughs.

7--James, I think. Or maybe Sam. Toss-up, there.

8--
--Dimitri: 2 fierce, 7 kind
--Neil: 3 fierce, 30 kind

9--Around 28000 gold and 10600 experience.

10--It was pretty easy to acquire gold, though it did get a bit tedious at times. By that I'm referring more to when I switched routes and the gold required did not re-calibrate to fit the route as expected. But it was okay mostly because of the experience-gold bonus.

11--Not really. I think I had a small problem with Angela's gold dress, finding the right color of the splash pattern or something. But I deemed that more a "me" problem than a program issue.

12--Story-time. I'm in big favor of plot-driven games, but the dress-up thing is okay. Would like to see ties added. And blazers. Blazers are probably my favorite article of clothing ever.

13--I found Joselina pretty relatable. She was fairly sure of herself, wasn't jumping to conclusions all of the time, was rational about most things, and was overall not an airhead of an MC nor was she a jerk of a character. So, I liked her pretty well.

Other--
My biggest complaint is probably the grammar and continuity errors (which, since it's in beta, can be forgiven, and also because that is a lot of text boxes). There's one moment, for an easy example, in Neil's last available chapter at dinner where MC puts her elbows on the table and leans on them...and then puts them on the table and then rests her chin on them. I did not read nor imagine a time when she would have put her elbows down between there, so she had some alien four-arms happening there for a moment. There are a few moments where a sentence seemed to have been thought of, cut off, and then ended with a similar but clearly separate train of thought (primarily Neil's route). Then various other small things, like a train of thought in the MC that didn't seem to correlate correctly to what was happening (Neil, last available chapter; MC said something about his flirting, and his response was essentially "well there better not be any complaints when I do it again" and she thought "kissing again?" though a few thought-boxes later and she was back on the flirting instead. If they were even just flipped around so that she said the comment about flirting again first then I could more easily follow the train of thought), or where a tense would be off, or there was a comma that shouldn't be there and broke the flow, etc. Most of the time it was just these smaller things, but I think you're more than capable of polishing them up at some point.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! You're right about the continuity error - that's exactly where the route split and I wrote it like a year later, haha. I changed around a few sentences and fixed it :)

I'm definitely in need of a beta reader whose native language is English, since several people have said the grammar is off here and there.

Ah, I see, that makes sense. Writing breaks--they'll get you. Like the boogeyman. Glad you fixed it though!

If you aren't sick of me and would be open to it, I would be happy to be one of the beta readers. I'm a big reader/writer, and I also work with a small (tiny but functioning really)  publishing company as one of the editors, so I'm not exactly unfamiliar with the craft. Or, you know,  pick someone you actually know because maybe this is just really weird :p

(1 edit)

Hello, I first want to say that  this game is awesome, and I can't wait for the full release. The option of custom characters and outfits is truly something different. I'll keep my answers short and simple, must be tiring to read the full essays I've seen.

1. What is your gender and age?

I'm a female, and I'm currently fifteen years old.

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

I was just casually scolling through itch, and found the preview for it interesting.

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

The art style is pretty cool, though in dating sims I don't usually look at art style.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

My favorite character is Neil, his story was a Joy to play through.

5. What's your favourite scene?

My favorite scene was the scene at the ball, the twist really caught me off guard.

6. What's your favourite CG?

My favorite CG is the one in te coffee shop, where Neil is trying ti avoid talking to the main character.

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

Any is fine really, all the characters are appealing to me.

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

I don't really remember, I've gotten a new computer and have lost it, I'm pretty sure I had way more fierce points than kind points.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

As I said from before, I've lost all my progress, so I don't exactly remember.

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

It was easy enough, but the repetitive garmets you had to make to get them was kind of boring and difficult to want to keep doing when I needed gold.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients? I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela's dress, or the opera dress.

Yes it was. Finding the exact clothes and patterns was extremely difficult, I had to go through many purchaches before finding the right one.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

The feature that let's the player create it's own customized character, and the choice of not always being nice.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I love her. The fact that she isn't as all cutsie and girly as characters in most dating sims is what made me like her so much. She can be fierce when she wants, and understanding also.

Hi there! I've just finished Neil's route and I'm here to give you my feedback. :)

1. What is your gender and age?

I'm 25 years old and female.

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

I was looking the visual novel games on itch.io and I found it ^^

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

The art style is rather appealing :) I just thought that the background were a little simple, but it didn't bother me.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

I've only played Neil's route, but I think that even if I play Dimitri's route, I would still love Nail's more ^^

5. What’s your favourite scene?

I must say that I really loved the steamy scene with Neil, especially the first one ^^

6. What’s your favourite CG?

The one on the counter on Neil's route ;)

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

I can't wait to play Caine's route! But I will certainly play all of the route ^^

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

I didn't note that, but it was about 30 fierce point and 5 kind points on Neil's ( I loved the way that the two character were arguing with each others )

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

I had 110 gold and 3750 tailoring experience.

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

I would say that it was just okay. I had a few times when I was " ho no, I have to make a little gold for the next chapter " but it only took a few minutes to make so it wasn't frustrating.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?
I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

It was a little difficult to see exactly what the pattern was but it wasn't too difficult, it was just taking a little more time than the other items.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

It's a difficult question, but I really like how the relation between the MC and Neil grows, so I would say the relationship between the characters.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I really liked her! Her reactions ( at least on Neil's route) were genuine. I really liked that we could personalize her appearance too.

1. What is your gender and age?

22 years, going on 23, female ^-^

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

I was browsing on itch.io hoping to find some cool games with some hot and appealing dudes. And here I am xD

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

Yeah, definitely. I had no second thoughts. I saw it, I insta clicked on it. I love the art style and the love interests are just dreamy.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

I really love Neil's route (didn't try Dimitri's route yet). I have a thing for guys that seem unapproachable at first. With those types, the route always turns out to be fluffy when the guy falls in love with the MC (with me) *grins*

5. What’s your favourite scene?

Would be too much saying I loved that scene where they were all over each other in the MC's Boutique?  That was pretty darn nice xD

6. What’s your favourite CG?

I would say all were nice but the one I enjoyed the most was when Neil tried to hide himself behind his laptop, coffee scene xD Btw, the moving eyes are just sooo cute, I don't usually see characters moving in visual novels. That is a big plus.

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

Trying to decide between James and Aiden. In a sense, James looks like the type I usually go for in games, stoic and cold hearted at first. But I think Aiden's route would be nice for a change. Reading Aiden's info, I can imagine all the confusion with the catfish part etcetera xD So I think it would be pretty entertaining.
8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

Welp, I went for Innocent route, got way more kind points that fierce points. What can I say....I am pretty tolerant xD fierce here and there, mostly nice, I felt bad being rude all the times xD

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

10 gold and 3k experience. Well, I went right for the story once I got the necessary amount of gold. Eager to find out what happens. Please do not judge x_X I wanted to ask tho, what is the max gold received for exp?

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

It was relatively easy, I think it was a decent amount giving the fact that your gold increases with the experience. I can't complain on this even tho sometimes, I wish it was a lower amount for the stories cause....excited to see what happens next.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?
I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

Nah, not really, that's for the important clients part. But getting the color right and the pattern was quite a hassle. Being the lazy person than I am, I screenshoted the design and got it in Paint then just browsing  in the store for things that matched. But, I must say, the patterns in shop, especially the  floral ones with all the entwining, aren't really obvious. Meaning...in the shop, those patterns seemed alike. It was just a trial and error. Saving and buying one, checking and then loading if I bought the wrong one. Hey, that pattern was expensive when you get like 100 gold at first xD I could have did more tailoring, yeah, but I was more into story so I was just trying to jump to were I left off.

Something that I found unsettling is that Angela's dress was a shade of orange with some grunge effect (btw, all the orange shades gave me a headache, at some point I was like: yeah...it is 50 gold anyway, let's buy them all, fack this xD ). But in the story, after showing her the dress it was said to be  a red color?? And I remember Angela saying, before making the dress, that she wanted a red(or it was gold) or black dress, or something. Maybe I misunderstood and misremember? Sadly, I didn't gave too much importance then, not loading again to double check, but I am 70% positive that I didn't misremember (I am sorry for the 30% if I am not right -_-" )

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

I think the idea with designing clothes is a nice and refreshing idea. Being stuck in a visual novel only following choices and plot, not working up for anything else...it gets a little boring after a time. So, I really, really liked the concept in this one, like I said, it is pretty refreshing (even tho the routes are so entertaining that I just want to jump straight to them). Also, the romance is super fluffy and my heart went "doki doki" when a ....hot scene was going on xD But not only this, the interactions between characters was ok, it felt pretty natural. Also, I like the jump to certain chapters part <3

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I like her style xD Trolling, joking, confused, indecisive, doubtful, happy, in love, I felt them all xD I think her dialogue was alright and the MC isn't some merry go round kind of character xD She has personality. A big thumbs up for her and for the ones that made this game possible ^^

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have some slight comments: I thing doing more save slots would be a great feature. It doesn't need to be too many. At least 3 would be enough, I would say. In the actual game, I would like to go for the Innocent ending and also for the fierce one and I rather get a savepoint from where I can try going on another route. Like...getting Innocent ending first and then loading from a point and change all my replies from then on, more fierce than kind to get the other ending. In the beta, I needed to save at all the times cause in design mode I encountered a bug, I think others mentioned it, when you just couldn't click Finish. It simply didn't want to work. I basically got stuck there, neither Return button worked at that point and the only thing to do was to exit and load the game again. (would head to the bug thread and get a bit more detailed about this bug and other bugs I noticed). Anyway, the point is I wished to have another slot xD Also, I really wish for a skip button to be implemented (umm, there wasnt a skip button right? I am sorry if it was but I didn't notice....). So far. I was jumping over dialogue (when it was already read) with space...space...space xDDD

Also, regarding designs, some designs were simply like "wtf, what shade is this?", especially when there were resembling and close enough colors like...on a dress I had yellow/orange with a shade of yellow pattern. Giving that the pattern is small, it was a task of trial and error to get the design right xD I was like "I think it is this one....*got denied*....nope, maybe something darker? *denied intensifies* my last chance *message with gold and exp* yey, got it!!"

Developer

Thank you for playing!

First let's go to the bugs; you're the second person to mention you couldn't click "Finished" when designing. Do you remember if you were creating a dress, or was it another design? Was it in Clients mode, Freestyle, or both? Are you running version 1.3.1 (click on the FAQ to check)?

Also, to make things easier for you; you don't need the exact shade of colour to complete the designs! Colours are grouped into main colours, so you've got your blues, reds, yellows, greens, etc. It doesn't matter if you need a dark orange or a light orange colour, both of them will count :)

To skip dialogue, hold down your left mouse button, or hold down the space key, this should speed you through it.

As for having more save files, that would be a no. It's okay though, you can still achieve what you'd like to do! The game runs on a single save file and you can always switch character routes whenever you'd like, and re-read chapters you've unlocked. When you've finished an ending, you'll be prompted with the choice to read from Chapter 25 again where the route diverts to read the other ending and unlock it. If you choose no, you can always go back to chapter 25 yourself later on to get the different ending. This way you can get all of the CGs and all of the endings without much hassle.

You still need to pay for the chapters you haven't read yet though!

Also, you're correct that Angela's dress is gold, but the dialogue says red. I got it fixed now :)

Thank you so much for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed playing through Neil's route! Dimitri might be less to your liking since he's not cold or aloof at all, but give him a try either way!

(1 edit)

Thanks for replying! ^-^ Feels nice I could help <3

Okay so, the bug happened in Clients mode (yeah, it is the latest beta version: 1.3.1). Freestyle was ok, no problems there for me.  Tbh, that happened like...for the first clients I had. Progressing in the game and doing clients' requests, I noticed I didn't encountered the bug anymore. The thing I noticed was that at one point, I couldn't get the client request right, something like, tried 3 times to finish but there was always something wrong at one point, when I was so sure I got it right this time, pressed Finish and it just froze. Tried Return, no action. What was interesting was that the design mode still worked, I could switch between dresses and colors,  but the buttons Finish/Return, nope xD

Regarding the shades...really? :-O I am actually trying it right now and it works, lmao, I lived in a lie xDD But I think it happened cause at some point, for normal clients, sometimes, only the exact shade of that color happened to work  so from that point I tried to match even shades.  Maybe this is a topic for bug discussion but here a design that is completely matching but for a reason, I still get the warning that it is not what the client wants --> a client named Sakura...if that helps? xD

Oh, I got it now. Thanks for the skip and save input. I didn't exactly understand how it worked.

P.S. Don't worry tho, Dimitri won't escape me *evil laugh*

Developer

Alright, thank you for clarifying. I hope I can replicate the bug because it's so rare, but I don't want people to be stuck in the design screen.

As for the screenshot - that is a legitimate bug that's been recorded by many others so far. Sometimes the design you make, even if it matches perfectly, won't be accepted. Has nothing to do with the exact shade of colour ;) It's not very common, but can happen every once in a while! Thankfully this is fixed in the next update.

Don't worry, I never explicitly told the player you don't need the exact shade of a colour to complete a client - it's just something running in the background for the people that don't have the best eyesight and aren't able to see the differences between the shades all that well.

Hi! I play otome games since 2010 and I can assure you your game is one of my list that i look forward to! So here's my answers hopefully this will help your team. English is not my first language i hope you can understand what I'm saying.

1. What is your gender and age?

F/25

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

itch.io, before i often check lemmasoft but most of otome are here now, i found RockRobin and searched similar games. I play otome game for a long time and really like how these days otome games that allow you to choose my own skin/hair color and personality.

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

The art style is definitely appealing to me, but then the description that really convince me to download this demo, i rarely download demo tbh.

 *VAGUE SPOILER *
4. Which (available) character is your favorite?

I love both guys, but maybe bc Neil has longer story (and his hairstyle changed) i love him more.

5. What’s your favourite scene?

The cinderella scene lol, i actually not really into princessy type so it's actually rare for me to like this scene. What i like about this scene is how i see the moment is the same to how the MC describe it, so it's kind of realistic i guess (i work in the same field too), she just wants to network there but it turns out to be different lol

6. What’s your favourite CG?

Every CS that has Neil in it, but the first Neil's CG is probably one of my favorite, he is cute xD

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

JAMES and AIDEN, their looks and backstory are closer to my type XD

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

i forgot... i got more kind points, but fierce points in Neil's route is not too far from my kind points he's such a jerk lol

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

1070 gold and 6360 tailoring experience

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

it was so so, i think it was fun

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?

I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

not at all, i think it made the game more fun, and i'd love to get more important clients tbh, bc normal clients don't have the best fashion taste XD

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

all of it! mostly the story bc what i look forward to an otome game is first definitely the story, second is the MC customization

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

i think she's fine but i hoped a little bit more tbh. sadly the only thing that i can relate to her is her passion and job in fashion, in terms of personality i relate to Sarah's more.

Hello! I'm really enjoying this game and I can't wait for more! Keep up the great work!!

1. What is your gender and age?

F/23

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

Browsing itch.io for otome games

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

TBH I wasn't sure about it when I first saw the header art on the game page, but once I started playing I found that I actually really like it!

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

I like tall guys so I went for Dmitri first, but then I played Neil's route and have really enjoyed it thus far. [[Mild spoiler]] I'm really loving his new hair (that slicked back purple do was not a great look lol)

5. What’s your favourite scene?

The whole masquerade party chapter(s) was awesome.

6. What’s your favourite CG?

Dimitri holding the cat. Totes adorbs.

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

Aiden. His story seems interesting, a bit left of field. And I like tall guys.

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

I think I got 15 fierce/12 kind at the end of Neil. Quite a few times I didn't actually choose properly though, because I usually hit spacebar to make the text appear in full before I read it, and since the option comes up together with the dialogue I sometimes hit spacebar before I'd actually managed to read the options. As a result I probably skewed more fierce points than I might have otherwise.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

3860 exp/5120 gold

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

I thought it was alright. Once I got in the zone it was pretty easy. The first time I played I bought a load of random stuff from the store, but then I started again because of an error (which I'll put in the bug thread) and realised it's much easier to fulfil orders if you don't.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?
I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

Nope, it was fine! I really liked how they turned into a fancy outfit version, that was a pleasant surprise.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

The tailoring, mini-game side of the game is great. It adds an extra element and it's really wonderful when it ties back into the story.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I think she seems well-rounded. I'm not blown away by her personality, but overall I think the writing is consistent and makes sense, which makes for a good read. Also, I like that you can customise the MC.

1. What is your gender and age?

I'm Female and I'm 22

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

I'm just a regular itch.io user, so I stumbled on it by chance

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

yes I LOVE the art, it's so asthetically pleasing, and I really like the wide range of skin tones, and everyone looks hot!  ;)

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

Dimitri, he's so sweet and hot, I wish he was real.

5. What’s your favourite scene?

I really like the passionate makeout seen in the Neil storyline, I think chapter 23 to 24, where he comes to the boutique and makes out heavily with the main character and pushes her on the table. Nice CG btw ;)

6. What’s your favourite CG?

I really like the CG in Neil chapter 26 I think where, they are taking selfies at the hospital! So cute!

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

I'M WAITING FOR JAMES MORGAN, the SEXY CARPENTER! That's my type! He's so hot and manly, I can't WAIT!!!!!!!

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

You could probably tell I got more fierce points xD

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?

I made just enough to open the chapters

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

it was a challenge but not too hard, just the requests were repetitive, which is to be expected! I really love the quality of this ame, and take as much time to perfect it!

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?

Yeah some of them were difficult so I skipped them :p
I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

The dialogue, it was well written and realistic! Very engaging.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

I relate to her tomboyishness, and I really like how she has a passion to make something of herself, she's independent, classy and stylish! I wish to have her dedication!

(1 edit)

Hello! Before starting I'd like to say that I pretty much liked the game in general, and that I'm waiting for more!

1.  What is your gender and age?
I'm a 15 year old girl.

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?
I was scrolling through itchio looking for games to play, and since I'm interested in visual novels this came up.

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?
To be honest, at first I didn't give much attention to it and didn't really like it, but when I played the game I actually ended up loving it! I love the CGs art.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?
Ahhhh, I don't think I'm able to choose. At first I wasn't very fond of Neil because I'm not into those kind of guys, but now, after reading what's available of his route, I can't wait for having the full game. I loved Dimitri from the start! He's such a sweetheart.

5. What’s your favourite scene?
I don't know, maybe when the MC and Dimitri first met when it was raining or when they saw each other again. From Neil's route either when they go shopping for Angela's gift or in the hospital.

6. What’s your favourite CG?
The silly photo and Neil smiling in the mall!

7. Which character would you like to be available next?
Caine! Actually, he was the first boy that caught my eye, both by his looks and his description.

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?
I don't remember, sorry. But I do know that I got more kind points than fierce since I preferred those answers except sometimes when it was necessary being fierce (I don't want another airheaded MC lol).

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end?
I can't remember what I had at that moment, but I currently have 1200 gold (I had more but I've been buying) and 4000 experience.

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?
Rather than difficult, I would say tedious. In difficulty it was pretty fine.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients? I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.
Mostly it was finding the specific tool I needed to do it and saving all the money to buy all the tools needed.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?
I love the fashion idea! It was one of the reasons I played the game, I love the freestyle mode. I also liked how the options and endings are divided in fierce and kind, not in Bad and Good/Happy like other games.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?
I overall liked her. Both her kind and fierce attitudes.

Hi there !

Thanks for this game, it is really amazing ~ I enjoyed it a lot !

1. What is your gender and age?

I'm 18, and a female.

2. Where did you find out about Tailor Tales?

I was looking for something new on itch.

3. Is the art style appealing to you, or did it take some convincing?

It is really great and pretty ! I have no problem with it.

4. Which (available) character is your favourite?

Dimitri, by far.  He is really sweet, and he can cook. That's all I need to be happy haha. (and I have to admit that dimples and moles are my weakness too... hm.)

5. What’s your favourite scene?

The scene in Dimitri's route, after the opening of the shop. I really liked the hug ~

6. What’s your favourite CG?

Neil hiding behind his computer ! (or trying)

7. Which character would you like to be available next?

I don't really know. I am curious about all of them !

8. How many fierce points and how many kind points did you get at the end of each route?

I can't remember, and I forgot to save, sorry ! However, I mostly went for kind answers.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did you end up having at the end ?

Same here, I can't remember, sorry again !

10. Was it difficult getting gold to purchase the chapters, or was it easy?

No really difficult, since we gain more with experience.

11. Was it difficult re-creating garments that were important clients?
I.e. the masquerade dress, Angela’s dress, or the opera dress.

I don't think so. It was kind of fun actually.

12. Favourite aspect of the game?

Hm... Can I say Dimitri ? Creating clothes for clients and the MC is interesting.

13. What do you think of Joselina, the MC?

She is cool ! I like her reactions and she's not boring like other MC.

1. What is my gender and age?
Female, 14 (I think i'm the youngest here oops! Haha.)

2. Where did I find out about Tailor Tales?
I'm a major otome-obsessed freak i must admit, i may have looked for a new otome on itch and stumbled across this one :p

3. Is the art style appealing to me?
Yes, it's one of the first things i noticed! It's so beautifully done and i'm so amazed with the amount of effort you've put into this game!

4. Which (Available) character is my favourite?
It took me some time to warm up to Neil because of his attitude but i loved him in the end and with Dimitri I loved his easily-flusteredness the most so.. It's hard to pick. But i'll go with Neil!

5. What's my favourite scene?
I think any scene where i was able to get Neil to lose his arrogant/reserved demeanor and take him by surprise made me really happy :)

6. What's my favourite CG?
Definitely the Neil makeout scene! My face even went all red!!

7. Which character would I like to be available next?
I'd have to say.. Sam,  so far his description drew me in with his kindness and his overall appearance is just stunning, I mean look at those blue eyes!!

8. How many fierce points and kind points did I have by the end of each route?
On Neil's i maxed out fierce because sometimes I just couldn't handle him and I wanted to give him a lil smack, although on Dimitri's I scored the max for kind because he did nothing but treat me with respect.

9. How much tailoring experience and gold did i have at the end?
I honestly don't know how much experience I had because I wasn't too worried over that aspect but I do know that I barely had any more cash because i kept using it for new fashion items, oops :p

10. Was it difficult getting gold to advance chapters or easy?
It was as difficult as I think it should be if that makes sense? Like not too easy not too difficult, just right in my opinion.

11. Was it difficult re-creating clothes for important clients?
At first I freaked out once i realized I didn't have the right items but then I was able to calm myself down by realizing that it wasn't a timed thing and I wasn't being rushed so I could take my time and earn the cash to buy the correct materials.

12. My favourite aspect of the game?
I love everything about it, i can't just pick one thing because it seems perfect in my eyes.. Maybe how much effort that i can visibly notice every new chapter you make and how well you listen to feedback and work to improve any bugs as fast as you can?

13. What do I think of the MC?
I like that I can make her fierce or kind and not a typical/generic character. I can shape her into whatever i want basically and i'm thankful for that.
