Animated Water?

Hello.

I've been recently trying to get the classic animated Water to work on Novetus, more specifically, on the 2009 and 2010 clients, the name of the asset is "Shy Guy Beach Animated Water", it was made in October of 2009 and I really wanted to get it working, but every time I try to convert the asset into an old client using the "Roblox Legacy Place Converter", all the decals disappear and I have no idea on how to make it work.

That also goes for basically anything I convert, I think it's because Novetus can't read decals from the Roblox website, and I can't even save the sprites of the animation to add them into studio myself, because I don't know how I would make the sprites animate or how I would make a script detect the decals in a hidden part of the game or something like that, any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Have you tried asset fixing it?

How do I even do that?

1. Open up the converted map in studio

2. Go to tools

3. Click execute script

4. Find the models folder

5. Open the fix asset links model

If you did this all right, you should notice that decals are appearing. If not, you either did it wrong, or the assets have since been deleted.

Alright, i'll try it out, thanks.

So uh, I tried doing what you said and I still barely have any idea on how to find the model's folder or what you meant by that, like, do you want me to save the script?
I don't know how to save them as rbxs either

Hello, I just wanted to know if you were still able to respond, I am still kinda curious on how to fix it.

i am

So uh, I still don't really understand how to fix the asset, do I use Asset Localization or something...?

what's the asset id?

It's 18404267

did you tried asset sdk?

if not then:

launch novetus

then click option

then click on novetus SDK

double click asset SDK

then use btroblox extension to download the model

then in asset fixer choose the type of asset choose rbxm

click browse and localize model/place and then click on that arrow ^ but it facing the other way (arrow thats is nearby with text "name of file") and then find direction C:\Users\"your username"\Location of model file (for me it download)\18404267.rbxmx (name of this model file) then choose it and press open

asset is should be fixed

edit: i tried it and it working! (it didnt worked but it was because i choosed bak file (idk what is this) instead of fixed

Ok so, I have some issues, I was able to open the asset location thing, selected the Asset Type as RBXM,  clicked "Browse and Localize Model/Place", and the I got the file with the "BAK" at the end, after that, I didn't really understand what you wanted me to do,  how do I unchoose the BAK thing?

How do I choose fixed instead?

Is there an option for it on the "Asset Localization" section?

When I tried it out after pressing the "Browse and Localize Model/Place" button (btw, I renamed the original file name to the official name of the file on the Roblox Platform, which, after conversion, was named to this:  Animated Shy Guy Beach Water Zoshi BAK.rbxm), the file did not work on the 2011M client.

fixed one is model file with the same name as it was before fixing, BAK is before asset fix
