Hey everyone just posting a message asking if there is anyone who would like to playtest each others games.

I'm new to creating games and social media and am currently working on my first project outside of game jams just experimenting and trying to explore what it would take to make a full game.

I am more than willing to record my gameplay of your game and provide the footage and also write up some notes on my experience.

If you think we could help each other out just drop me a message and I look forward to trying out your games.

Hey!

I'm interested in this offer, mostly because I would LOVE some recorded gameplay of my game! Your game looks really fun from the game page, and I can't wait to try it and give some feedback! Are you going to do it like a Youtube video, where you record your reaction to the game as well? (It really helps me to see reactions!) It's fine if not, I'll be happy either way!

I'm currently cramming like crazy for a game jam, so I won't be able to do it right away. Give it a couple days and I'll give Aplomb the Lazy ninja a shot!

Sounds cool no rush. I’ll have a look, give it a go and drop you a message soon.

Okay, ready to try it out!

(Thanks for checking out the beta for my game jam game btw)

No worries your welcome. looking forward to your feedback will post elemental notes later on today.

Sorry it took so long. Really enjoyed the playthrough will comment on the page as well.  I recorded the gameplay and its can be watched here but I warn you the quality not very good.. but the video is genuine first playthrough musings. (Link to unlisted video been deleted). Only this link will take you there and I can delete when ever you wont.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed! You were very clear and detailed in your playthrough, gave me lots to think about for the full game. For the music, some people think it's straight from Pokémon, but it's original and just sounds very much like Pokémon haha. I honestly didn't see any problems with the quality, and hearing your reaction was very helpful (your kid calling it a fnaf ripoff was absolutely hilarious lol). Thanks again, and good luck with Aplomb the Lazy Ninja!

(Japanese Horseradish = Wasabi btw!)

Do you mind if I leave this video up for people to watch?

I don't mind at all, please do! I was actually hoping you would change your mind about deleting the link :)

I got you bro , hit me up

Thank you for making this post, I am in a somewhat similar situation to you I think. I'll try your game, it already looks amazing and far better than what I was able to achieve just by looking at it's page. If you're interested in trying my attempt at a game, you can play it here: DIURNALITY by Enjoy Tomorrow (itch.io). Again, thank you for making this post, I feel it will be useful to a lot of people.

Dude, gonna check out DIURNALITY tonight.

Got stuck on day 2, could not find where to go in the "open world". If ya tell me I will play the rest.

The light is nonexistent if it's on the same day you completed a previous day. This game mechanic can be disabled via the "Auto Skip Wait" function. Thanks for trying it out though!

Ah, so I am supposed to actually continue this tomorrow?

It depends if you've downloaded the game or not. If you have not downloaded it, you'll need to write down the save code found in the "Manage Save Data" in the options menu on the title screen, and load it tomorrow. If you did download it, then it's a lot more simple; you just wait until tomorrow, and once you load Day 2 the light will be there. Although, it isn't required to wait until tomorrow if you do not want to. Auto Skip Wait in the options menu on the title screen disables the waiting when it is enabled.

I downloaded it, and that is a really cool idea. I will play it as it was intended and thus I will come back tomorrow with my thoughts about day2. Would appreciate if you tried out my demo when you have the time, its about and hour or so of gameplay so its a hefty one.

Thanks! I actually was thinking of checking your game out a few minutes ago already, so I'll be sure to play it soon! I'll have a minor update released to fix/improve some of the things you've mentioned before tomorrow. Again, thank you for the feedback, and thank you for playing!

New demo out. I think I solved all requests from the last one. Still, I need new feedback. https://horbror.itch.io/dreams-of-joy-departed

Made a quick gameplaytrailer to show both new and old stuff:

Any input is appreciated.

I’ll give it a play through and let you know what I think.

Demo2 is almost done and so here is a fresh new trailer:

Check it out and tell me what you think!

About the trailer i just think its a bit too long honestly, a bit more action and less text in trailer would fit i believe? but who knows im just guessing hjaha

Commented on your game, well done for making it!

Please check out my game Grid of Yendor. It's a minimalistic roguelike set on a spreadsheet where typing is your attack, and the characters you type are your health. There are 3 difficulties, adjectives which modify enemy stats and appearance, and plenty of bosses to fight. It's my largest project so far so I hope you will leave feedback and keep playing it. Have fun!

This seems incredibly unique, I will definitely give it a look.

I will definitely check it out and let you know.

Some feedback given, my man. Worked as far as I can tell without flaws.

Hey Horbor I've not forgot I'm planning on trying out your latest version this weekend.

Dont! Demo2 will be dropping any day now and contains so much improvement! You can give me a follow if you want! How are you coming along with the cute ninja game?

No worries I'll wait for the new version.

Thanks for asking. Not bad decided to procrastinate and participate in a game jam I like to enter.

You should check it out I think your game may fit in nicely with the themes. https://itch.io/jam/themed-horror-game-jam-14

too bad you cant participate with a game you are already working on, otherwise "thirst for blood" and bloodrelated mechanics fit my game perfectly.

I've had a play through and it's a solid entry. I recorded my gameplay for you to have a watch. I prefer it this way as you get more real time feedback as to what my experience was and I'm practising talking into a mic at the moment while playing. Its unlisted so only available through this link.

Link has been removed

I'll delete the link once you have had a watch and left a comment letting me know.

Thanks for playing and finding bugs. Not sure what's causing the post-processing one but I can confirm it only happens in the browser. The BGM seems to take a while to load as well, I'll try and fix that. Taking your feedback, I'll reduce enemy attack speed in "learner" mode and add scene/floor transitions. I'll also add a strategy guide in-game as some aspects were more complex than I thought.

Sound cool I really did enjoy and I'll surely play any future versions. Also would you mind if the video remained up for others to see?

(+1)

Hey, I've uploaded a new version which fixes some issues you found with the game. As for the video, sure, it's free publicity for both of us.

Still didnt beat the higher difficulty, skill issue again lol

I've not forgot going to give it a try Tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

Sure i'd love to! Lemme play one right now, ill just write whatever i think in comments under the game itself :)
If anyone wants to try my game, be sure to leave a comment after you play it, i'll play your games too and give as much feedback as i can

(+1)

I will be posting an updated demo in a couple of days, would love your input then. In the meantime I will test your shit and if you want to you can watch one of these to see if my game might be something that interests you.

Waiting waiting waiting

(+1)

Gave it a quick look and I can keep testing if you want as you update your project!

(1 edit)

"DEMO2" is out, but I guess I will call it early access in the future, since its way to big to be a demo. https://horbror.itch.io/dreams-of-joy-departed

If you play it and give feedback I will do the same for you, might do it anyway though because its fun! If you want me to test your stuff, just answer this comment.

looking forward to it will give it a download and play later on today and drop you a message.

Just tested it again playing the good route, everything seems to work :D! You can reach an ending, but it takes 2hours, so I get it if you dont want to run through it all in one sitting.
