Basic idea of the game:

Hey Misaki, nice to meet you!

So I've played your game and the first thing I gotta say is that I love the art style, I liked the music too.
Ok, I'm not that a good gamer so it could be just me but I found the game really hard, the concept is good and add interest to the game. One thing you might want to look in is the camera angle, the angle is unique to a 3/2D platformer game and I liked it, but you may want to consider moving the camera to a more vertical-to-the-level angle because with the current angle it's kind of hard to judge depth.

I'll try playing your game again later because I didn't manage to make it that far :P.

Other than that, keep it up because the game has of potential, as I said the concept is good.

Have a good day!

Thank you so much for playing my game, I've noticed that the camera angle seems to create problems with depth perception. I wanted to have an intersting camera angle, but I'll have to see if i move it into a different position would it make it easier to play the game. The game does seem to be quite hard for a lot of people, which is fine, I'll just need to make couple of the first stages a bit easier and adjust the character movement to be easier to control.

Thank you once again for your feedback and i hope you'll want to try the newer versions in the future. I'll be updating the demo until the third or fourth stage and so that all the controls work.

No problem!

Your game is fun so it's kind of my pleasure giving it feedback ;), let me know for updates.

Hello, I tried the game for a little bit. My profile is of an expert player of 2D platformers and above average in 3D.

Here is my bit of advice:

  • Add a shadow to the feet of the character. Don't think in art terms but in gameplay: any platformer requires mandatorily know where you are going to land.
  • Moving platforms should move you too if you are stepping on them.
  • I agree with the problem of the camera that Gelgavish said. It's hard to undestand where the character is going to move.
  • Character feels floaty.
  • I got stuck in a wall due to a bad jump. I had to move in a different direction for it to start falling.

My advice is to place your efforts in the collisions for now. The character doesn't slide down hills, doesn't follow the physics of the platforms and gets stuck on the walls. By doing all this and having the shadow to help the players to position themselves in the 3D space, it will improve a lot, trust me ;)

Thank you for your feedback, I'll put my best effords on fixing the collision issues. Never thought of adding a shadow for the landing, seems like a good idea, I'll see what i can do about that.

Hi! I made a Camera Beta where you can test different camera angles, if you'd be interested in trying it and giving your input. I'm sorry if this is too bothersome. Also if you end up trying it the current controls are going to change, but currently they are sh*t, so i'm sorry about that too.

The Game file is the CameraOptionsBeta one.

Additional changes:

  • collision fixes
  • a bit less floaty character
  • dunno if the shadows help but the angle of the lighting changed
  • also the camera options are only on the 1 stage.

Thank  you in advance, your input helps me make the game better.

ps. Full demo should be out on 31.12

Hey, it's me again! :)

So I've played all of your game (including all the options) and it was tons of fun, I really like the part of the deal with the devil kind of thing (I didn't find any changes that saying yes to her does but I guess it's under development).

Although I had fun playing your (super hard) game I did had some issues playing this game so this is what I think you should focus on improving before continuing with the storyline:

  • Collisions!! this is your main problem now because I often fell to my death because of a physics problem. Is there any chance that you are using a cube-shaped collision shape for the player?  if so I recommend using a capsule-shaped collision shape.
  • The controls feel slow and unresponsive, work on that
  • The camera thing (you already know that).
  • Add a shadow to the player, I agree with  Pick A Pie on that.
  • Consider adding some sort of checkpoints in your game, I would be super annoyed going back to the beginning if I am, for example, in level 10.
  • When the devil guy talks to you, doing the dialog is pretty weird, make the lines change by time, not movement if you want.

Other than those issues you have a really good game, I really like the story and the concept!

Have (again) a good day!

Hi!

I played the beta version and it's so much better, the  OG camera angle made almost all the difference! the physics and the controls are better too.

I think that after a little bit of tweaking you can continue with the story (getting on the platforms is still glitchy sometimes).

See ya
