During the development of "Auto Shipping Solution," I have delved deeply into the role of music and sound effects in enhancing the player experience, from crafting background scores to creating situation-specific sound effects. This dev log aims to summarize my work and discoveries thus far.

My musical journey began with composing a background score for the game. Given that the protagonist is a busy robot, I opted for a modern and lively musical style. Using synthesizers and electronic drum beats, I created music that serves my creative purpose, adding to the game's fun without distracting the players.

Sound effect design was another focal point of my work. I paid special attention to interactive sounds within the game, such as the clicks of options. These seemingly minor details are crucial for enhancing the UI's friendliness and the overall immersive experience of the game. After experimenting with different sound samples and adjustments, I selected a few short but distinctive effects that not only convey player feedback but also integrate seamlessly into the game's overall style.

I also composed specific musical snippets for key moments in the game, such as victory and game over. The victory music is a short tune with a cheerful melody and brisk rhythm, celebrating the player's achievements. In contrast, the game over music is sad, with a touch of misfortune yet not too discouraging, encouraging players to try again. Creating these pieces made me realize that even a few seconds of music can significantly impact the player's emotions and gaming experience.

On the technical side, I faced challenges, especially in integrating music and sound effects smoothly into the game. Using MIDI, MusicXML formats, and ABC Import, I managed to import and fine-tune the music effectively, ensuring they performed as expected within the game.

In addition, I produced some of the game's art assets, such as gears, chips, batteries, and cooling fans. The design of each asset was carefully considered in terms of color palettes and styles to ensure they fit the game's robotic and industrial theme. For instance, the "Gear" asset, which shows damage, is part of the game's repair mechanic.
