I really like this! I was confused by the teleport/bonus relationship, but once I figured it out, it was a great twist! I wish the game tracked my high score between runs, but that's only because I wanted to play again immediately and beat my previous score!!
It's crazy that you managed to create two different games for the jam, and they are two of my favorites!!
It's a solid game! could easily carry a game with a larger scope
It would be nice to highlight the character well before the game starts and correct me if I'm wrong, sometimes the teleport doesn't work, I don't know if it's intentional or a bug.
Yep. I didn't want players to just spam eat the highest value fruits. I adjusted the bonus points for each bonus set so that you will get a higher score if you get bonuses quickly enough, but a lower score if you spend too much time trying to find the next fruit. You'll have to be quick and use the teleport correctly.
The controls for moving felt a little odd, I'm not sure how to describe it, but I often went one tile further than I was expecting to go. Maybe requiring distinct button presses for each move would help resolve this.
I feel like you could do without the teleport mechanic, making it one less control to learn :)

You can only have 1 teleport at a time. If you've used it, you can get another teleport by completing a bonus set.
Lovely arts! A bit challenging with controls and face directions, but it'll take time I think. Great work!
Nice one! It looks good, sounds good and plays good.
I'm curious if you found in your testing that going after the bonuses gave you significantly higher scores than eating everything in sight?

Nice. It seems like it will have a lot of extra value for high score seekers.
This is a fun little game!
