I didn't expect to come across a game like this in a jam, it must have been a crazy amount of work to get to that! Nothing to complain about, congratulations for this entry! And keep telling stories like this 😊

Thank you ! and I'll try my best  :D

MFW the intro music started playing: 😮

What a wickedly funny, eclectic and intriguing narrative experience. Couldn't be more pleasantly surprised to have found it on this jam! I really enjoyed the mystic themes present in the text and the ending twist was something I've never seen before. Clearly you have a knack for storytelling and a deeply creative mind that's not happy to just rehash old genre tropes. Would love to see this narrative wrapped up in a larger release or even as a short story!

Thank you very much for taking your time to play my little dialogue game (heh) and the time to write this really, really great review. Honestly, I'm going to save this one on my laptop and I'm probably going to revisit it when in need of some extra motivation while making games, especially on those days when the motivation feels nonexistent (which happens quite often).

Seriously though, I  really do appreciate it. It wasn't the best day today but now it's a little bit better.

And who knows, maybe one day we'll both get to play each others games on Steam or something hehe.

Until we meet again,

Keep Making Games :D

No need for modesty, you worked hard on your game and you should take pride in what you've accomplished. Most people never spend 100+ hours on a creative project. Creative work is difficult because we never reach all the goals we set for ourselves. Even when we receive positive feedback, it's difficult for others to fully grasp what the work means to us. What seems to matter in the end is finding meaning in the expression itself, getting something out that would otherwise go unsaid.

Yep, I find your words to pretty much reflect what I've been thinking lately.  A lot of hard work and little pieces of our soul (so to say) go on our creative endeavors, which a lot of times remain obscure and known mostly to us (even if people play it). I find the intimate relationship the creator has with its creation actually interesting, as I find myself nowadays in the role of the creator and not consumer. And not just the creating it part, but releasing it into the world as well. Even if it's just a silly little game, or story or any other medium of expression.

I agree with everything you've said, but that last paragraph is food for thought and I'll have to ruminate on it for a while. "Getting something out that would otherwise go unsaid" - thank you for sharing your insights.

P.S. regarding the start menu music, I actually got really excited when I've found it by mistake on freesound. I was like damn, this is the one lol. And the end music as well, which should had kept reverse looping until the credits end, but nope, the Web version refused to do as told hehehe. Actually, speaking of, I think I might have forgotten to credit the start one (even if it's cc0), I reckon I'll add it in a future build

My e key is now scared of me

Made me question if i took my meds

jokes asides, a bit sad you didn't make assets since the point of a jam is learning :D

Keep going tho ! :D

Yee honestly I'm actually amazed that my E key is still working after all the playtesting I've done during development.

And regarding the making assets part that's 100% true and I feel the same way. Initially I just wanted to use the free assets as placeholders and make my own later, but even a game as small as this one required so much work and time invested (honestly I've learned a lot about scope creep and prioritization here) that in the end I went with them.

Now that I've got the basics down I want to focus on making 2D and 3D assets (probably 3D more, Blender and stuff).

But anyways, thank you very much! I'll keep at it, gamedev is actually really fun once it starts to make sense a little bit. Like not just once during this game (and the first one) I found myself working until 5-6 AM (with passion dare I say) and with my job starting at 9 hehe

I think this is a bit far from any of this Game Jam's objective (theme, asset making...) but as a second game ever, its already nice! Keep it up!

Thank you very much!

Unfortunately, and by no means it's no excuse,  I have no idea how to make game assets nor music at the present point.

For the theme, I realize now a little bit that I didn't make the use of momentum quite clear while I was focusing on other aspects of making this little game.

I wanted somehow to show momentum through what happens in the story/ dialogue of the game. Going from an old mage trying to find somebody, to well, what happens at the end, hehe, and everything that's in-between. So, 0 to 100 now we here pretty much.

But thank you again very much for your feedback, sir!
