Love the retro style fps aesthetic, the gameplay is a excellent example of  a simple concept executed perfectly, great game!

I really like the look of the game. The mechanics need some better explanation, I couldn't really get that high and looking at the comments here it seems I'm not the only one. Keep at it though.

Cool music, nice visuals, solid gameplay concept, BUT... mouse sensitivity is soo low! Most of the times I failed is because I couldn't aim fast enough.

Other than that- great work!

Developer

Sorry about the sensitivity! Adjusting sensitivity setting is for sure planned. Thanks for playing :)

A very good game, the UI is very well made and the music is super cool. However, I noticed some problems:

1) The game was harder to understand at first, and the red arrow pointing up gave me the impression that I had to shoot up after the monsters-eyes, not that I had to use the bazooka to jump.

2) The difficulty is a bit high, considering that when you jump you can't see where the monsters-eyes are positioned andbecouse of that I didn't managed to do more than 4 consecutive jumps.

3) Sometimes the game crashes. That is, after you play a round and lose it in the next row, there is a possibility that those monster-eyes will not appear at all and you will not be able to advance in the game (also, the music will not be heard at all).

4) To prevent the possible errors previously mentioned in 3), a pause menu where you can restart or exit the game, would be good.

But the game is great. Good job ! :)

Thanks for playing! I agree I will have to find a better way to teach the game's mechanics. I may lower the difficulty of the starting area if I get more feedback along those lines.

Was unaware of crashes so thanks for pointing that out, I'll do some investigating

Such a great concept. I agree with NuclearFriend's feedback. I'd also love a sensitivity slider and some more feelback on exactly the best way to interact with the eyeballs. It's seriously a great idea though and with extra mechanics and some synesthesia this could be a real banger.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Sensitivity slider is for sure a planned feature. I'll have to figure something out for teaching eyeball 'stomping.'

  • Love the visuals
  • Music a bit grating eventually but was dope the first time haha
  • Movement feels great, especially like the launch when the rocket boosts you
  • Buuut, found it pretty hard to get a hit on the eyeball to keep launching higher... And also ran out of rockets very easily..
  • Was also a bit confused by the lava, didn't realise it was what was killing me / ending the run for a while

But sweet entry, thanks!

Thanks so much for playing and the detailed feedback! New music and an 'alert' that lava was rising were both on my todo list but got their priority lowered by other ideas.

On the eyeball thing - I get the sense from your feedback that you were trying to time rocket jumps at the eyeballs. You can just land on them, no rockets necessary, and it'll do a hit of damage and propel you up. Once you jump on them twice they die and you get a rocket back. I'm super curious if that's the case, and what I could do to teach jumping  on eyeballs or make it apparent somehow.

Putting CHOP on my list to play, thanks again!
