Unfortunately, I hadn't noticed this game before the voting ended. It's really good and quite well made! Needed the walkthrough to notice that the king was all the way up there in the throne room.
Heel origineel concept met het gaandeweg uitbreiden van de acties en het ziet er ook fantastisch uit!
I really like the concept of the game and the main character is quite interesting. It is good for a change to be able to play as an "anti-hero". The mechanic of learning actions (and also learning to respect others) it's new and refreshing.
This is such a fantastic game, great work! What a polished, charming, and unique experience for such a short time. I love the game loop here -- especially how the game design informs the Prince's character and growth. The environmental design and music are also on point!
"I can't just command my entrance into paradise and have to actually work for it? Outrageous!"
The fact that the prince has to acquire new verbs by learning them (by personal growth no less) is a spectacular idea. I love this so much. The art style is wonderful too. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the game because I got stuck at one point. I also tried trial and error, but no dice. Maybe I missed a hotspot somewhere? Hence, I would not object to a walkthrough. :)
From what I've seen, it's a fun game. Very amusing so far.
Thank you so much for your feedback! :). If you'd still like to finish the game: we updated the game to fix a few game breaking bugs and uploaded a walkthough.
Great news. I'll give it another go then. :)
After taking a look at the walkthrough, I was now able to finish the game. I still noticed a few small cosmetic bugs: The "real" head remains on the shelf as a duplicate and its owner loses his recovered head from time to time (when turning around?). However, the game can now be finished without any problems.
Looks good, sounds good and has a really clever game mechanic. Great game! Highly enjoyable. :)
I'd like to finish without reading the walkthrough... I have the right head ("I think", he says, but it's labelled as such) but I don't see any way to give it, as such. Am I missing something or am I in a bug?
It's not too surprising that the concept of giving is foreign to the prince. He probably needs some kind of divine inspiration first.
Very funny dialogue. The art-style was wonderful also! And the kicking animation was smooth :D Great job!
An arrogant, self-absorbed a**hole? That's my kind of protagonist. And it can KICK STUFF? Oh, this game is wonderful! I laughed so much at some sentences, and the idea of a person who needs to LEARN to pick up things is so absurd, I love it.
I want a walkthrough, though :P I didn't manage to finish it and I really want to know how things evolve.

PS "No Rest for the Wicked" is our favorite game of the jam so far :).
Thanks for the walkthrough! It turned out I missed a hotspot :D
I love it that the prince learns and this is reflected by adding verbs to the ui or changes them. A truely novel idea! (at least new to me ;-) )
But I think I ran into a bug. The king said he gave me a chess piece (or pieces) but it isn't in the inventory (and there is still the (right) head I already gave to its owner, the (wrong) head vanished). Even after looking serveral times at the chess game (and recieving the piece in text and animation) there is nothing new in the inventory... (played the web version)
Edit: tried it a second time. Again I didn't get the chess pieces after winning. :(
but I liked the art and the story so far. An excellent game with a very clever gameplay-idea!

Ah, thank you! I was able to finish the game now. Great game all around. Beautiful graphics, compelling story and clever gameplay. Wonderful job you all did there!
The art, voice acting and atmosphere are top!
I spent a long while trying to beat it (I was tired, and the puzzles are very difficult) Until I accidentally backed out of the tab and lost all my progress. It is a cool game, with a neat concept. I am too tired to come up with much more lol

What a fascinating point and click after-life concept :) I did get stuck early on after the bomb rolled away and wasn't sure what else to do but the enjoyed interaction and art nonetheless

Fun concept and I liked the presentation. The art was nice and the voice acting fit very well. Showing the character through the available verbs was a super smart touch
I really like the art style and the animations in this project. The idea of replacing the normal SCUMM type verbs with silly ones like KICK and HOLD was fun, and introducing new ones as the game progressed was interesting. People who like traditional point and click adventures should be trying this one out.
I didn't finish it but the style is cool, looks like a mix between Aladdin and Prince of Persia but the older 2d ones haha
I really like the idea of showing personal growth mechanically by starting with a truly awful set of possible actions, and then gradually adding more reasonable ones. Unfortunately, by the end it was starting to get a bit frustrating seeing the prince sorta-kinda learn some lessons, but without a clear way to act on them. I also encountered a bug where the king would sink lower and lower every time I tried asking him something, to the point where it was causing problems. I feel like I got tantalizingly close to the ending without managing to finish it. But I enjoyed it overall. A very in-depth character study!

Very polished experience.
