Thank you for trying the game!

Sadly there's no log file for this release. Quite the oversight on my part.

No issues running it on my end. Keep up the great work!

I’ve not much to say so far, other than it doesn’t run on windows 7, if that’s of any use.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it anyway. There's alot of reasons why it doesn't run. I'm using a recent version of OpenGL so if your PC is too old maybe it doesn't support it. Or the version of GLFW I'm using could also not be supporting Win7. I don't have a win7 machine laying around to test it on, and let's say win7 support is not in my list of priorities.

This demo really tickles my brain. There isn't a lot to give feedback on, but I'm still going to.

I know this is a custom engine. Great work on that. The features that are implemented are responsive and work with no jank and no problems, which is already about 50% of the work of making it satisfying to play.

The demo needs an undo button. Even at this stage it's a must-have QOL feature.

A major problem a lot of these games have are the terrible artstyles. This style is great. It's a classic look but with a high-fidelity upgrade. It looks really really crisp.

Only major gripe is with the UI, since right now every tab button is on a single row, and I think they would be better off separated based on function, like in all the Tycoon games. Makes it more intuitive and easy to work with them.

I hope the UI isn't planned to ultimately keep this Sims 1 look because it makes it look unoriginal.

I want to play the game that eventually comes out of this prototype.

Thank you for playing my game and enjoying it!

Indeed an Undo would be a good feature. I'll add it for the next Demo Day.

I'm happy that you like the artstyle!

Yeah the UI is atrocious. It was made quickly to have atleast something for DD. I have yet to come up with a nice layout and especially a pleasing style that would be doable with my programmer art skill.

Thanks again for the feedback!

Agdg bows before the enginedev. Keep up the good work. You are a consistent yesdev.

Developer(+1)

And I bow to the artists of Aggiedaggie.
I owe you one for reviving and cheerleading /gedg/. Ngl but the general is why I kept at it, if only you saw the size of my dead projects graveyard...

Thanks for the kind words!

you totally got the sims vibes going. i like how the door snaps to the wall, and pressing shift to fill the floor with tiles works pretty well.

even just as a mere create-a-building simulator this has the potential to be pretty damn comfy.

Thank you for playing my game and for the kind feedback!

hey dude, i tried playing your game but it closes down immediately. I even turned off my antivirus (the download says it's a virus btw), but still no good. Please let me know if you can fix that.

Developer(+1)

That's a bummer that it didn't run on your system. This is a false positive that have been plaguing me for a while. I got it the other day on my test machine, and manage to fixed it by fiddling with the compiler flags. But sadly by the look of it, it wasn't an universal fix.
What did you run it on? Windows 10? 11?

I'm using windows 10, it was on my laptop though. I'm gonna try again now on my main PC.

It's working now! I'll post a comment later!

Just tried the game!

It's literally the Sims 1 construction mode lol! I liked it! Very impressive stuff dude, I saw in the other comment that you are planning to make a convenience store sim, that's sounds really cool.

One thing i'll mention tho, the walls for some reason can't connect between a diagonal wall and a 'regular' one (see the letter N).

Cool stuff!

Developer(+1)

I'm relieve that it worked and happy that you enjoyed it!

The diagonal wall to regular one is intentional. The min angle between walls are 90d.

Thank you!

Everything seems to be in working order so thats good, must've been a pain to program, curious what your future plans are? A small gripe, the floor tiles peek out under the door due it it being recessed.

Thank you for playing my game!
It wasn't much of a pain to program, I actually enjoy programming. I plan on making a sort of business owner life simulator where you build your shop and run it. At first I will make that you build a convenience store, but I would like to add more businesses in the future.

You have a good point for the doors. I'll have to make them flush to the wall in the future.
