It seems that the girl character is just "hard mode" without anything else. Without any loot it became quite boring.

The spritework is really cool, enemies are very interesting - but at the same time the sequences weren't long enough to be a challenge.

Too basic for my liking, needs a lot more meat on the bone.

-Not much to say, I've played this several times as Mario Party minigames. The one thing I find neat is applying a musical note, so it works well for people who remember tone better than visuals. With expansion, it could be a decent game.

-Clicking the same note quickly will cut the previous sound short, or sometimes won't play the second one at all it seems.

-Having the damage take place after the gameplay feels needlessly long, I would display the damage as you press the blocks to expedite it.

-If you lose HP, on the next battle it will also lower your max HP to match, which seems wrong.

-There seems to be no reason to go back to the entrance, you lose HP but have to start from the beginning.

Will the gameplay get more complex than just recreating a very very simple sequence that was just shown to you? Either way, it needs to be sped up, and maybe put on a timer, for starters. Or follow a rythm as well?

Tried it out, no loot ;_;

I think the core idea could be interesting and I like your monster designs but it gets too repetitive immediately, you need more for anyone to be able to judge this and provide real input. Anyhow, some ideas:

Pre-program the sequences so that it always follows a melody. You could make it so that the example you need to follow is always timed to the beat. A player could be rewarded with extra damage if it manages to push the buttons with good timing too, making it more of a rhythm game rather than a memory game.

Could mix up the memory aspects of the gameplay with other memory related puzzling, or different, more difficult "button setups". Actual "memory" the game could also be used.

Give it a good basey beat and change the tones/instrument of the button examples and inputs  according to what song is playing in the background.

General tips such as adding animation to a bunch of shit, get things moving. Foreground layer with smoke or mist, Flashier attacks.

the concept itself is interesting, but i'm worried that it could get very repetitive. sound memory minigames are usually put inside of other larger games to add variety...

at the end of the day, it's a turn based rpg with an added layer of potential annoyance. as the game goes on and the notes become more and more of an intricate "music", i could see the appeal of a rhythm turn based rpg, but as of now it's essentially toddler tier.

(finally a game i don't suck at, wooo!)
